The child porn reputation is completely impossible to miss if you field the website at all which they mustve done
i'm always taken aback whenever a poster screeches about how not buying a video game for any reason "harms the developers"
i'm not in any way required to buy a product. get out of here with that weak shit.
I applaud the audacity to release a Sponge Bob game in 2019, but lol.
As someone said in an earlier thread European employe rules makes it hard to fire him, also he is a major stockholder. And THQN is 100% aware of what they did and still choose to pay him and let him represent them. Yeah no.
Any reason you couldn't buy a used copy of this version off ebay or something? You seem pretty upset that you can't play it, so why not still play it in a way that doesn't give them your money?
It's extremely difficult to fire someone in EuropeAnd THQN is 100% aware of what they did and still choose to pay him and let him represent them. Yeah no.
He did a great job of that:Well, you always have to consider that maybe Mark did do a good job of taking care of the nasty stuff
The former is absolutely overblown. The real issue is the latter. As someone said in an earlier thread European employe rules makes it hard to fire him, also he is a major stockholder.
Not someone who works in PR or marketing and decides to represent your company on a pedophile message board. I've seen people with similar job titles fired for much smaller public fuckups in 4 different western European countries.
Ehh not really?
As someone said in an earlier thread European employe rules makes it hard to fire him, also he is a major stockholder.
Find it hard to believe someone who willingly, with the intention to provide exposure, linked to a website where child pornography is exchanged regularly and attempted to legitimize it as a point of engagement for their company/brand would be hard to get fired. Come on. They didn't even try, they published a lazy ass "apology" and called it a day.
Little hard to find but it's actually more of the crash/Spyro treatmentI wonder how extensive the remaster is going to be. The graphics weren't that good, even when the game came out, and I can't imagine that translating to HD without a lot of reworking. The dev having made one (supposedly not good) game so far also doesn't give me a lot of hope.
And god damn the 8chan stuff. That's a whole other can of worms right there.
Oh I did see that. I didn't know if that was in-game or promo art though.Little hard to find but it's actually more of the crash/Spyro treatment

Presumably, you think the people who care about THQN's accountability for legitimizing a pedophile website would feel bad about a game they published being successful.I wanna see how ERA reacts if Shenmue III wins GOTY or some shit
Sorry Ninja but NO! Who said you have to stop discuss the issue? Me not for sure. My english is not perfect but what I wrote was far away from this. I said a more complex thing, and I said that over multiple posts. I really hate when I spent time to write an articulated opinion, and the response is right/wrong, white/black. It's not that you have to agree with me, of course, but not reduce my opinion in "don't face the problem means don't talk".Nobody here has the ability to force THQ to resolve this issue. That doesn't mean people should have to stop talking about it.
Off the top of my head? Everyone complaining about Xbox One DRM before it launched.
... and again, to my response, which you don't have to agree with, you choose to reduce everything to "shut up". Again I read the same argument, "if you are not against them, you are with them". Sorry but at this point this is not a problem regarding me.You're creating an artificial dichotomy between problems and solutions to essentially tell people to shut up, when that's precisely the most efficient way for nothing to happen.
I think people who complain about using multiple threads to talk about THQ AMA are not the target. Or they are?In a lot of ways, the fact that you're so annoyed by this constant cloud of negativity surrounding the company and it's products is an indication that talking about the situation is working.
Me too.I have a different opinion than the "fuck THQ" crowd but I won't dismiss the concerns of them.
And where do you stop? If Twitter would not have given Donald Trump a platform, the USA would maybe not have an alt-right president.Guilty by Association is a bitch though. I mean...many of us posted on NEOGAF for years and mods on that forum collected and distributed child porn. And I don't think we should be faulted for that association. THQN needs to fire those responsible, but them specifically.
From 4chan, the place where 8chan members feel like they're being censored. The censored words are as incredibly hateful and offensive as you'd expect:
It would be cool that the developers made a great game that got recognition. It would suck that it's tied to THQ.I wanna see how ERA reacts if Shenmue III wins GOTY or some shit
Why do you even bother hanging out in such a horrible place? I avoid that place like the plague.
I don't hang out. I think it's important to acknowledge the product of THQ Nordic hosting its AMA on 8chan. So many people here dismiss it without looking at the reality of the situation. Hopefully, a look at the reality of it will change some minds. That AMA doesn't exist in a vacuum. It had consequences. And part of that is a cloud of hate and harassment following their products, targeting vulnerable communities and those who would call out THQ Nordic's actions. And at this point it's unlikely that even a meaningful effort to condemn this will change things.
English is my second language so you kind of lost me there can you resay what you mean?. I wasn't saying we shouldn't talk about what THQ because we ABSOLUTELY should. Just why would you go and browse 4chan. I've tried once and couldn't stand it.
It's important to know what bad people are saying, so we can fight it better. Ignoring 4Chan is fine, (and good for your health) but sometimes you need to know something awful, even if you can guess it.English is my second language so you kind of lost me there can you resay what you mean?. I think I'm going to bow out of reading any THQN thread here. They just devolve to shit instantly and trying to sift through the waves of "fuck THQN" to get actual information about the topic of the thread is just not worth the effort. Not criticizing anyone or anything like that it just is not worth it to me for games that I probably won't have interest in.
BIG OOF
More that you assumed that it was licensed and garbage. I'm surprised by the reception to this, too. I'll probably check it out.Really feeling the generation gap, because this thing didn't register on my radar at all in 2003.
It would be cool that the developers made a great game that got recognition. It would suck that it's tied to THQ.
There's your reaction.
Hell, Era isn't that politically diverse and it's still one of the most aggressive places to talk in.Which i hope is the extent of the thread's reactions, but we all know that won't be the case.
Idk, it's just kind of depressing to see every THQ published game thread that should be a celebration or criticism of said game just desolve into madness with everyone at each other's throats regarding the 8chan incident. I definitely understand where the anger is coming from but it's just a bummer to witness all the tension stemming from it all.
I may be reaching, but it's kind of an interesting analogy to how really divided society is in 2019 imo.
I would say it's regarded as one of the best licensed games ever made (certainly the best Nickelodeon game) and is seen as a classic to anyone who grew up watching Spongebob, a remake like this isn't unwarranted. I have very fond memories of playing this when I was little, as this was basically my crash bandicoot.
That will be the vast majority of the reactions that would take place and then, as happens in every THQ thread, somebody will complain that people are bringing up the 8chan incident and things would get derailed.Which i hope is the extent of the thread's reactions, but we all know that won't be the case.
