TIL: Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster had a 12-year-old drummer (YOYOKA!)

...But don't let her age fool you, she's actually been drumming for YEARS now. 🤯
I think she's been mentioned a few times on Era, but I only found out recently thanks to a friend that she was behind a bunch of choice tracks for FFPR. Here's a video of their contribution to the soundtrack (but I set to time stamp to a good one!) (I mean there's lotsa good ones...♫).

Seriously. Remember when video game battle music used to actually have driving melodies and didn't just over-rely on loud orchestras or nonsense lyrics?

i thought they just remixed/remastered tracks from the earlier remakes and it was all pretty much synths

cool though, will make replays interesting

yeah i probably should've figured (listening to these tracks right now, hindsight 20/20). I recall the production being kinda dry though they did a great job overall

Real instruments make such a difference in sound too. Even these FF tracks, the drums are great (I also really enjoy when Motoi Sakuraba goes for the band experience)
