This season, FBI Special Agent Grant MacLaren (Eric McCormack) and his team of time-travelling specialists attempt to navigate their 21st century lives while tasked with the mission of saving the future from a dystopian existence. The Travelers will face their most difficult obstacles yet, including the Faction, a deadly virus, and a mysterious new Traveler (Enrico Colantoni), all while continuing to live the everyday lives of the present-day host bodies over which they've taken.

Along with McCormack and Colantoni, Travelers features an all-star Canadian cast including MacKenzie Porter, Patrick Gilmore, Jared Abrahamson, Nesta Cooper, and Reilly Dolman.

It's on Netflix now.

I was debating on making this thread here, but I guess you beat me to it. Loving the season so far.

Haven't watched any of the second season as I'm in the US and waiting for it to hit Netflix but I had a blast with the first season. Particularly the kid who played the high school fighter (and I believe he's actually an MMA fighter in real life) he's great. Whole season was a lot of fun. I'll have to rewatch the last ep though cause I can't remember what happened at all

I just watched the season 1 pilot. Cool concept. I've heard good things. Glad to see season 2 is a thing.

I discovered Travelers on Netflix, and ended up really digging it. It ended up being a far more intriguing take on time travel than I was expecting. I'm happy to see it return. Fingers crossed that it is as good, if not better, than the first season.

Yeeessss! I love this show. It is a mess of time travel paradoxes (indeed, the very process they use creates huge paradoxes) but the actors have such a good time with it, it's a joy to watch.

Can't wait for this to come to Netflix in the US. I loved the first season. Could really feel the blood of Stargate SG-1 in it.

Man, that fake out with Trevor and later Carly with the cop traveler. I have a feeling they're going to kill off one of the characters for real sooner or later and it's going to suck. Abby was growing on me too, I should have known the director wouldn't let her live.

I'm assuming they're going to eventually reveal something special about the group the explains why the Director has such a soft spot for them (since it's constantly either saving their lives or forgiving breaches of protocol).

Agreed on Abby, I was beginning to look forward to her becoming Trevor's new love interest.

A deadly disease is spreading around the world, and the travelers must get to the bottom of where it came from and how to stop it, before it's too late.

I really like the 1st season and I'm looking forward to season 2 when it comes out on Netflix, which I assume will be early next year. I was pretty nervous about it not getting a 2nd season when they brougth back Will and Grace. Thankfully though, McCormack was able to do both shows.

Since it seems like most people are waiting for the Netflix release to start watching, I put a new rule in the OP to tag spoilers if you're watching as the show airs.

I'm glad the Faction plot is picking up. The Marcy/David romance plot is frustratingly slow, but I still love them both. David especially shined this episode, they really showed just how good he is at his job. The 30% of the population killing virus is really upping the stakes, I'm looking forward to see where that goes and if it will have any status-quo changing effects on the world.

What was going on in that scene? I thought he was luring a bunch of soldiers to get snatched by the faction and wanted Grant to come so he'd get overwritten.
Oh shit, you're absolutely right. The quantum frame stores thousands of consciousnesses, so he's luring more bodies there for transference. I had to rewatch that scene where Jenny was explaining it lol.

Yeah I had to rewatch that scene too, pretty much everything she said went over my head the first time.

Are we spoil tagging this?

I was thinking they were going to replace the millions of dead with the entirety of the future population. But I suppose thousands in the quantum frame will work too.

Canada's a frozen wasteland in the future huh...fitting.

I was worried Grace would turn out to be Faction, turns out she's just dumb. Glad Boyd and Forbes survived...in a way.

Did they ever explain what happens to travelers in the future after sending their consciousness to the past?

I don't think so. The only reference to it was in this episode
when Marcy mentioned her consciousness being sent back (to the future), repackaged, and then sent back.

Previous to that I assumed the original was still back there and they just sent a copy back in time.

That's what I assumed too, but this episode implies that the original doesn't make it since
every attempt had a new traveler number assigned to it.

Well yeah, that's what I'm saying.

In this Marcy said the consciousness had to be sent back (I'm still not certain how that happened in Marcy's case) before it could be repackaged in the future. If they're dead then that can't happen so they need a new traveler each time. However, I'm not entirely sure how the director knew what went wrong.

I am on s2e2 right now. This show starts losing me. Too many mass arrival that don't have consequence 2 episodes later.

And the writers can always write themselves out of a corner by brainwashing the bad guys.

Grace probably just stored Marcy's consciousness on the net for the Director to access in the future.

The director still shouldn't have known what went wrong, which is a plot hole and a legitimate one at that. Also, the director needed that element in order to exist... so in the failed attempts in which it didn't get it then it would've ceased to exist preventing it from sending another traveler.

I really liked the first season. I won't be able to watch the second season 'til it hits Netflix over here but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

Oh yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The first failed attempt should have led to the Director not existing. I guess it's possible that they managed to recover it later with another team but that's a cop out.

Think of it less as multiple attempts to save the director and more as multiple attempts to save MacLaren's team. They probably still could have recovered it later, but it seems obvious to me that MacLaren(and/or his team) is more valuable to the Director than anyone realizes (otherwise why would the Director keep letting them get away with breaking the rules, or going to great lengths to save MacLaren's life when other Travelers don't get the same benefits).

Plot holes aside that was the worst episode of the entire series IMO.

Pretty good episode.
The Director talking to Grace was actually pretty emotional. Not a bad job of humanizing the director. Although the ending to the Quantum Frame plot felt almost inconsequential. I guess they're setting up Enrico Colantoni as the final villain of the season, with the faction's rival quantum programmer being set up as a villain for next season.

The Director being so emotional surprised me. I guess it makes more sense now why the team gets so much leeway when it comes to the rules. The Quantum frame ending was pretty anti-climactic...but damn, Marcy's got moves.

I always wondered this, but are historians even human?

Wow at the twist with Marcy, and damn just how old is Trevor?

Guess that answers my question about historians. Lol at Grace and her little rant.

Fantastic finale. I wonder if they'll manage to sweep this under the rug or if the secret is actually out.

Only thing that bothered me was the team risking the doctors life with that stupid plan. They should have known better.

Speculation about Trevor:
If he was repeatedly sent back in time then Trevor must be super old. Originally I just thought he was old in the normal sense, but he's likely well beyond that. Also, I wonder if they sent people back to increase their own level of technology... but I can't remember what the rules are on their form of time travel.

I'm glad they finally got rid of the first traveler (at least in the original form) and his ridiculous preaching. It was fun seeing the other guy basically being the audience in that one scene.

The way I understood it, they didn't send him back in time, they just swapped his body multiple times to test the consciousness transfer tech. Similar to what Vincent did.
