What exactly is the point of holding a rally in Oklahoma? How does that help your re-election chances at all?

Not saying it should be happening at all or anywhere, but Tulsa feels especially pitiful for Trump.

Needs to be a red state that'll permit a gathering of that size, and he's hoping for a friendly crowd.

...is what I'd normally say, but TBH with the increased awareness of the Tulsa massacre and it being on Juneteenth, I'm definitely in agreement with the take that this is a deliberate "fuck you" from somebody on his team.

Not that I put it above him and guys like Stephen Miller, but Juneteenth originates in Texas so wouldn't they have it in Texas if they were trying to be assholes about this specific thing?

Or do people think they're one state over as a way of giving cover?

Tulsa is the site of the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921, so they certainly didn't choose this site for purposes of sensitivity.

I'm sure he'll have talk about "unity", like he mentioned before, but it will be done in the most racist dogwhistle way possible, like praising nationalism as the real unity and protest actually being against the freedoms of our country or being an attack on law and order.

I worry about the "security" he'll have around the rally and if he plans another demonstration of force like at the White House.
