Disgaea 5 is not game of the generation. It is really easy to get into. in my opinion it has a really good tutorial to ease you in. Crack that baby open and give it a try

Disgaea has a pretty good tutorial at the start of every game alongside the start of the story, so you should be fine honestly. Might as well go with 5 since you own it.
