Not sure how this leaked but this streamer Slicker has been caught recently of asking tons of viewers and streamers for money. Then paying back some streamers but most going unpaid. Now that this leaked people have come out with their DMs, phone calls, video calls, etc of this happening to them too.

Here are pics of DMs with viewers:

It seems like he was just borrowing money to pay back others like a ponzi scheme.

Welp his career is pretty much over. No idea how popular he was but reading into it on Twitter and he was somehow scamming individual people out of thousands. šŸ˜¬

Dude didn't invent the Ponzi scheme. Ponzi didn't even invent it. It's the oldest grift there is, it's just that some communities discover and rediscover it in different forms sometimes.

Shame it happened to people based on their own goodwill. Usually it's selfishness and greed that is being exploited.

Yeah... I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone that got caught in this. Anyone willing to loan that much money to someone outside of direct family clearly has the money to share.

And especially this should be a cautionary tale for all you viewers who think streamers give a shit about you for anything other than the subs and donations you gift.

Actually no. This was all done off stream.
well that makes the folks handing out the money make a bit more sense

if i knew someone who was a "gambling streamer" (which is fucked up that its a common thing now) and they asked for a sizeable loan, that's a giant red flag

Trainwrecks is extremely wealthy for doing gambling streaming, he even moved to Canada to do it.

He gives very generous donations often like this. Out of the goodness of his heart, to just improve his image, or both.

And now the story comes out, it was gambling. And a streamer known for gambling Trainwrecks, lent him 100k.

Twitch has needed to ban gambling for forever now, but still nothing.

You know this reminded me of a situation where someone on twitter was begging for donations as they claimed they were meant for food only to later post about their Genshin Impact pulls

Gambling addiction is no joke.
Personally why I refuse to gamble. Or smoke.I remember a story my barber was telling me about one of his friends lost their kid's entire college fund that they'd been saving for since the kid's birth while gambling after a few lucky wins. Seems terrifying. Doesn't XQC legit have a gambling addiction too?

Yeah its a crypto casino.
lol, of course it is

i dont think i'll ever trust stuff like that, specifically sponsored gambling

whether they do well or poorly gambling, they are getting cash/credit directly from the house anyways, so they are just one more stream away from a jackpot and showing how great gambling is

I mean it should, but this is Twitch. I'd not be surprised if this works out as a boost for him. Pretty sure the CSGO lotto scammers from years ago never had much blowback.

i'd have a gambling addiction too when you're basically doing it on the casino's dime, sheeeeeeeeeeeesh. I imagine anyone doing sponsored streaming casino stuff has some form of addiction or problem festering away. The feedback loop of getting paid, interacting with your chat, the parasocial aspect of it all...

not to discount it, but i started smoking at 18 and quit almost immediately when i didnt really get the appeal, went through one pack maybe

obviously they are addictive, they are designed to be, but i always felt like gambling addiction and alcoholism have much easier lead-ins to becoming addicted to them

both have a sort of "instant gratification" that happens on the first time you do them, and its very easy for you to go back to them and say "well, the last time was fantastic, one more go" over and over and over

People complaining about what children are exposed to while reference women in revealing clothing while multiple huge male streamers literally get paid by casinos to promote gambling will forever be disgusting.

Yea alcohol especially is hella addicting. I used to have an addiction to it years ago. Personally Ive only gambled once and lost $20, and that was just confusing and I didn't understand how people get so into it. But then I read stories and see the clips from twitch and it's like, damn, people genuinely get ruined by that shit.

A lot of scammers out there, begging for money on Twitch and/or Twitter, only to pocket it and give some BS excuse why they're not using the cash for the original intended purpose.

But some of them have such dedicated fanbases that they'll just shrug it off or claim that anyone critical of them is lying.

I'm surprised there's little to no push back on Genshin they supposedly pay streamers a shit ton for sponsored segments.

I dunno. Regardless how much money one has, being scammed is never nice, especially when its from a person you know.

People always seem so aggresive here towards streamers lol

Edit: obv only talking about first part of the comment before I get qouted

How do people have 27K to lend?
And he seems a small streamer.

I picked the wrong profession. I got to start streaming

How did he become extremely wealthy by gambling? sponsorship or is he just "lucky" when it comes to gambling.

I'm surprised someone with this many viewers doesn't already have enough money that they feel the need to do this

Wouldn't they already have a ton just from ads alone
