Mah boi Crash showing them legs years later. I hope Nioh 2 did well.

AC could not have come at a better time and it has the spotlight for Switch audience until summer at least.

Oof, Nioh dropped pretty hard, but I've seen almost no buzz about it online despite getting good reviews.

Decent hold for PMD, it did it's job of keeping the switch relevant until Animal Crossing.

Nioh 2 debuted with less copies sold than the first Nioh and it dropped heavily in the following week.

Tecmo Koei will never get their 5 million seller anytime soon.

No stopping Nintendo on the Switch. To be honest, it was perfect timing for them. Animal Crossing seems like the perfect self isolation game.

Actually, -55% is a very good second week for an hardcore AAA game, usually it would be more like -80% or even 85%. It's disappointing to see it's not enough to keep it in the top 10, but the context is important : as explained in Games Industry report, everything else went up last week and the sales overall were absurd, which is why Nioh 2 became invisible.

Nioh 2 also sold 63% less copies than the first one, context is important but it didn't do that good compared to the first entry in an empty week.

Can't say how much exactly Nioh 2 is tracking behind the first one at this point, but there are two things to note that should hopefully soften quite a bit that -63% figure.

The first one is the fact that Nioh came out on a wednesday versus a friday for Nioh 2. The other one is of course the digital growth those past three years (incidentally and contrary to popular belief, we know thanks to GI.biz monthly reports that the UK is the biggest digital-friendly market in Europe).

Personally, looking at the "live with PlayStation" stats, I'm actually quite confident about Nioh 2's reception worldwide, I hope we get a number from the next KT IR report at worst.

Yeah, 2D Metroidvanias aren't exactly big business at retail, being more of a digital purchase. Amazon doesn't even stock the physical version. And of course it was on Game Pass.

But we know that's it's done exceptionally well on Steam for example, even though it's available for Game Pass PC.
