Oh I'm marveling in the irony of how numerous times I've been told directly or it's been implied that discs are useless because what's contained on them is a broken unplayable mess and you need the Day 1 patch to fix that. Yet here we are where people are upset that they don't have these broken unplayable messes that us physical owners have access to as an option to play these unlocked framerate games =)

This legitimately sucks, on one hand you're playing the best version of the game, on the other hand you're playing a way buggier version with less functionalities

Anyway, here's some useful links to (respectfully) ask for a patch. Maybe use something like #GOW4k60Patch and the post the video link?

Sony. This is getting ridiculous. Pay your studios to make PS5 patches.

Yeah, this stuff is frustrating. Can't be an insane amount of work to just unlock framerates and let PS5 brute force the results.

It should take a single dev team member no more than 15 minutes to add a simple menu option to toggle that only shows up on PS5.

Heck even a person who has never coded could add it (the menu option, not the PS5 detection code)

It's literally as simple as changing the fps cap line from "fpsmax_30" to "fpsmax_60".

This is why games should always include a frame rate cap option! Then no one has to go back and patch a thing. Both PS4 Infamous games had a resolution option and framerate cap option. From the looks of it, Sucker Punch still have it in place in their engine in Ghost of Tsushima, they just unlocked it in both modes for the PS5 patch.
