Yea I was waiting for them to fly over the audience and was disappointed they didn't. Would have been a great visual.not having them flying over the audience sucks. I get why, but still.
They are drones like the size of a car they also are just skeletal structures with lights that make them look solid
I slightly teared up when watching a video of this for the first time, and I haven't seen a single second of a Star Wars movie.
no, it's possible. they won't be very fast, but they don't need to be. just having life-sized X-Wings flying overhead, making the sounds, would leave a strong impactI don't think real aerodynamics would make it possible, they are more helicopters than planes.

Yo, people saying they should go over the audience or zip, need to chill. Disney doesn't want another Vic Morrow situation.
That was pretty cool.
I'm sure Disney is super afraid of these things accidentally crashing into the audience. Fly overs aren't happening without a safety net of some sort.
March of The Resistance
Someone gif that dude bawling over a freaking teaser trailer hahaha.I slightly teared up when watching a video of this for the first time, and I haven't seen a single second of a Star Wars movie.
Adult me thinks the tech behind all this is amazingly cool.
Child me would have been BLOWN THE FUCK AWAY to see this in real life.
Video is from the Rise of the Resistance opening ceremonies on Dec 4, 2019.
