It is crazy how much Virtual Youtuber have grown in such a small time. Just a few months ago it was niche.
If it helps people express themselves without people bullying them for their appearance or their private life then why not?

It is especially good for women because they are the biggest targets for bullying.
Ngl it's 100% better. I don't care for them but I don't see what the issue is lmaoIf it helps people express themselves without people bullying them for their appearance or their private life then why not?

Actually the anime avatar is because female streamers tend to get harassed. It obfuscates their voice and their appearance.Trying to sound cutesey while using moe anime girls with animal ears as your persona has to attract a combination of dubious fans from both streaming and anime crowds. Not in general, but im waiting for the news to happen where someones been stalking them.

Is this by the same guy who draw the cartoon of a guy buying a black porn dvd ending racism? (What a sentence!)

Oh no. I know what Vtubers are. I just don't get why everyone knows who she is and how she's relevant enough to get such a (relatively) big Easter egg. The videos are fine, but clearly I've missed the meme.A youtuber using facerig to hide their identity to stream.
Thus a Virtual youtuber, aka Vtuber.
It definitely will attract weirdos but I don't see why these women shouldn't do this. That problem can only be fixed when Japanese society accepts mental illness as a natural thing and creates institutions to treat people.
I guess there's an argument about corporations exploit mental illness and loneliness in young men helping to create these incel neckbeard NEET types. But that's not the fault of the streamers, that's the fault of the suits who care more about cashing in then effecting positive societal change.
Last several days the Hololive subreddit did constantly hit r/all on reddit since a lot of the members did start posting on it. Funny to see the reactions from outsiders. It is crazy how much Virtual Youtuber have grown in such a small time. Just a few months ago it was niche.
Yes. Its all very much meant to be a parody and every comic features a crying statue of liberty. Is this by the same guy who draw the cartoon of a guy buying a black porn dvd ending racism? (What a sentence!)
To add to this point, there was a video I saw about this where one of the people working for the streamer company described it as "something similiar to AKB (forgot the numbers) idol group". The corporate thingy is there for sure. Thankfully it seems like the streamers are working to destroy that notion. It definitely will attract weirdos but I don't see why these women shouldn't do this. So did people throw this much of a fit over stuff like Gorillaz or what? It's impossible not to think we aren't in a serious dystopian hellscape...
The easter egg is non-intrusive and somewhat obscure enough to the point that I'm pretty sure it was just some programmer's clever unchecked joke rather than some big team effort. Similar things have occurred in the past in games like Sonic Mania which had an obscurely concealed Dunkey reference/voice sample that got patched out once it went viral. Not the first time it's happened and not the last time it will happen.Oh no. I know what Vtubers are. No, it's not actually The Onion's cartoonist. It's someone else drawing in his style.Yes. Its all very much meant to be a parody and every comic features a crying statue of liberty.
The same reason anyone watches other streamers, and the same reason lots of streamers get special thanks in credits of games these days.Oh no. I know what Vtubers are. This stuff feels incredibly dehumanized/removed from reality. So did people throw this much of a fit over stuff like Gorillaz or what?
Like explain to me like I'm stupid what's so bad here.
This stuff feels incredibly dehumanized/removed from reality.
Streaming (well, the internet in general) already gives off this feeling very strongly. Seeing stuff like this even more so.
It's talking heads to the nth degree.
