I like how no one on a site like this has yet gotten 100% progressive.

Go on... what do you disagree with? You can tell me...

So... what's the difference between Social Liberalism and Libertarian Socialism. About the only difference on the bars I've noticed is a slight difference on the economic axis that people have posted.

Good question! I honestly don't know which one it could have been... I answered things about as progressively as I feel you could and still ended up at 87%.

Does anyone know of a political leaning test like this but with better questions? Preferably, presenting scenarios that have multiple options.

Can't remember the name but there's a good one that takes a little while and presents your answer on a grid with 4 different leanings and has dots signifying big political names in relation to yours.

Seems about right to me, only thing a bit surprising is the gap in progress vs tradition though that that is largely due to questions asked in that category being largely about religion or the advancement of science.

Is this like the pol sci equivalent of horoscopes or the Myers-Briggs?

I'm finding it incredibly difficult to find any shred of evidence for validity or reliability for this test. There is like.. no research out there on this. Like someone just slapped it together with their own constructed axis, some of which fall within one another and don't really substantiate being their own axis. Most political ideology literature factors leanings into either left/right or social and economic dimensions (e.g. 2 axes at max), so.. kind of confused here.

I'm not doing 70 questions right now but I would be surprised if I didn't get Libertarian Socialist, or at least _______ Socialist of some kind. I usually get something similar on these types of tests. For the Political Compass one I'm pretty close to the bottom left corner in the green square.

Edit: Took it and got Libertarian Socialist.

A libertarian socialist is like Noam Chomsky. Anti-state but will take the welfare state over not having it. A social liberal is a socdem.

I would assume to hit 100% Progressive you would have to take a hardline stance that all traditions are wrong and bad all the time, which is kind of an absurdist notion.

I mean, I'm (apparently) 89% Progressive and I would still say a rational case-by-case basis observation of traditions is the only reasonable way to approach them. You shouldn't not do something a certain way just because it's the way it's always been done, that's just dumbassery.

That question about progress at the cost of everything else or something like that was a bit too heavy handed for me. Also traditions have no value at all. It's hard to take an extreme position on questions like that.
