Julie Kavner is 70 years old. It's no shock that it's reflecting in her voice.

Amazingly enough I watched this very episode today, first new ep in over 8 years, and Marge's voice sounds painful.

I remember how she sounded on the DVD Commentaries... people thought she was a smoker.
Nope, just age, go watch Rhonda and she's in it and young too, she was I think she was 30 when she first did the Ullman shorts.
Tom Gammill who's a writer who's also on commentaries also sounded like he was 70 when he was in his mid 40s.

I know the whole controversy is why it happened.. but honestly..
Not feeling Carl's new voice either.
I didn't even notice Carl's new voice, and I've been a lifelong fan. Wow.
I guess it's only jarring because the characters don't age. Still I don't think it's that big a deal. Marge has always sounded pretty husky anyway.
