Guitarist for Pink Floyd. This was an absolute no brainier for me. The guy doesn't tour often, and will likely be his last tour.

What shows have you paid a pretty penny for?

ive never paid more than $350 for a concert ticket (that was U2 the joshua tree anniversary tour, and tbh that price was a scam). But normally my tickets come out to be $220 ish for floor / lower section for arena / stadium tours. (spent $450 buying taylor swift tickets for my sister but that wasnt for me so wont count it. and those were second row FLOOR). Sorry fam you got absolutely scammed

215 for Floor seats to Kendrick + Keem in NYC. Had the time of my life, both are great performers (though Keem needs to get better)

Edit: Just a heads up you are going to get flamed for the amount you paid for those tickets, especially with the suggestion that you maxed out a CC for them.

$200 for the Misfits reunion at MSG. Was a fun show, but probably not worth that much.

My SO wanted to go to My Chemical Romance.
I think it was like $650 per ticket, which was insane to me.
Didn't really know their music, but it was a good show.

Payed almost 800€ for two Jay Chou tickets for the wife, seats were average but she was happy so that's that

$701 x2 for VIP (Club Renaissance) floor seats for Beyonce in Houston. Beyonce's mom was standing right behind me and (very kindly) asked me to move to the side to see her daughter perform. The Dream, Jay-Z, Kelly Rowland, Normani, Victoria Monet, and Coco Jones were all chilling in the area right next to me and were super chill. (Victoria Monet bought my girlfriend a drink for her birthday - rooting for her ever since)

I'd pay it again. Got them for my girlfriend's birthday but it's arguably the best concert I've ever been to out of the 300+ i've been to.

Spent a couple hundred for the Nier concerts. Worth every penny, but that's pushin' it for what I'm willin' to pay for a ticket for anyone.

$850 a ticket is insane.

The most I've spent was $200 for an AEW show, but we were at hardcam and like 4 seats back from the ring.
Otherwise, $125 for Werq the World, and $90 for Green Day.

The rest have at most been like $40

I'm not going into debt to support some has been artists who yeah cool doesn't play as much but no they don't care about you.

Last time I did that was weird Al andthat piece of crap never sent anything that was supposed to give me, a torn poster with a crappy autograph (which even though I was there and took a picture of him signing people say isn't an authentic signature!) and pushed me aside for the next crybaby couple to tell their love story to.

So now there's really not much that'll make me max out a credit card for someone. Also all the people I grew up with a kind of bigoted people

I've done some fests so those range from 250 to 500... like EDC, Chella, EF, Lolla, etc.

For a single act, I think it was the Rolling Stones or Paul McCarthy. I think it was around 120 for first row balcony.

I wouldn't max out a CC for anything unless it was life threatening and/or my last option, jfc I really hope you can pay that off.

As for a concert the most I've ever paid was for T-Swift last year which I think was $150 for nosebleeds, which was face value. A fun show but all of my favorite concerts I've ever gone to were like < $50 each for standing room

I would never pay more than ÂŁ250 for a concert ticket. Even at ÂŁ250 those tickets needs to be early entry/VIP

If I miss out on initial face value tickets, I'm definitely not paying a premium for some reseller

I'm jealous OP!
I just paid off my CC but David is someone I would think about maxing out a card for.

I paid $1800 once for Hamilton but that was a special occasion.

For regular concerts, only twice have I paid over $300 and both times were resale because the show was sold out. Felt a little sick hitting checkout lol but dammit if they weren't actually both worth it in the end. That was for Radiohead and Billie Eilish.

I spent 30 dollars to see Godspeed in 2018. I'm sure they cost more now but I enjoyed that concert way more than anything I've ever seen in an arena or any other huge venue that charges over 100 bucks.

My dad randomly gets free tickets to shows at the casino nearby so I've seen a handful and they're... fine. I wouldn't pay for them though.

Hope you know what you're getting into, OP lmao. He suggested he is likely playing very little in the way of 70s (i.e. peak/Roger Waters) Floyd songs this tour - setlist is probably going to be mostly his solo stuff plus a couple songs from the Syd Barrett era and Momentary Lapse of Reason/Division Bell.

I saw him last tour (2015?) and enjoyed the show for what it was, even if very solo-heavy, hearing him sing and play a handful of classics was worth it. The best time to have caught Gilmour would have been back in 2006, before Richard Wright died.

I actually don't think I have yet. Everyone that I've wanted to see has had reasonable prices. Even when I saw Queen back in November, two tickets for lower level seating was only $300. I think my wife is waiting to see if Paul McCartney is going to tour again, and will probably want to splurge for VIP tickets for him.

gotta love how all my favorite bands have tickets that cost no more than like $50 with fees. Mostly <$30. Can't imagine maxing a credit card to go see one.

For me I spent ~$150/ticket for Paul McCartney several years ago. Recently my wife spent a total of ~$2200 to take herself and our two daughters to an Olivia Rodrigo show.

People don't give a shit about the bands I like, so I can't remember the last time I even paid $100, let alone $1000.

I can't do it, I don't think there's any musician I'd pay more than ÂŁ100-150 to see in person. It just feels like they're taking the piss and exploiting their fans when they charge stupid amounts. I can't justify spending the equivalent of a nice week/weekend away on a single night of music, especially as you have to ad travel/food etc on top.

Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer are doing a double gig near me soon and it's like ÂŁ160 for a standing ticket, which is just too much for me for a single night.

I saw QOTSA last year for ÂŁ45 in the same venue, was awesome.

Definitely aware. Actually am hoping he pulls out maybe one or two from his first solo records. But even if not, I actually am a fan of the Gilmour led era anyway. I caught him on his last tour, lower level at back of United Center in Chicago, unfortunately missed encore and like half of shine on in second half.

We only paid $100/ea for those back then. This time im closer, off to side of stage. Sec 116, row 9.

I drove a state over to see Metallica in concert about 25 years ago. Cost a few hundred, if I recall.

I paid $80 to see Eric Clapton when i was in high school and it was one of the stupidest decisions of my entire life.

Robert Randolph opened and Billy Preston was in Clapton's band, so that was cool. Everything else about the show though ... đź‘Ž
