I'd make a poll but there are probably too many ways to answer this question. So what do you keep the AC in your house set at in the summer?

We've got it at 78 during the day and 76 at night. If we're using the oven though we'll usually drop it to 76 because our kitchen is too hot otherwise. I'd love to keep it at 76 all the time but money doesn't grow on trees and all.

I don't keep it on all the time...only on the days it gets hot. I also turn it off at night typically when the sun goes down cause it gets into the 50s/low 60s overnight during the summer months here (western Washington)

We generally turn on the AC when it's like 80ºF or hotter outside - any cooler than that and it's usually comfortably 70-73 on the first floor and around 68 in the basement (even if it was 100ºF outside, it probably wouldn't break 70 in the basement). Chicago summer just don't tend to be that hot or humid, so we can make do for a good while.

But when we turn it on, we generally set it to 72/73ºF.

72 24x7 in the summer (moderate temperature here though, so not a lot of days and doesn't work hard)

I'm in Florida, so its kept to about 76 during the day while I'm at work and then gradually turn it down until night.

77°F (25°C). Any colder is just throwing money away on electricity.

Some of the low numbers already posted is wild to me. I can't imagine keeping the AC that low, I'd just end up wearing a sweatshirt all the time. Then at that point why have the AC on

72f during the day, cooler at night. My apartment is horribly inefficient, and the bedroom is always hotter/colder than, say, the living room, so heating/cooling must be adjusted to compensate.

74 or 75F at all hours. I'm not a total cheapskate but I don't like cranking the AC super high either.

Keep everything open and use it as little as possible. When it get unbearably hot, we usually put it around 72-75

I'm in very hot Texas, so 77 F. Also, I feel cold when the house is below 70, I can't imagine having my house at that full time, especially the cost of the electricity bill...

77 mostly. Sometimes 76 because it's summer and wearing light clothes is fine. Just need it to cool the inside and remove humidity.

75 for the house, 70 for the office. Office has its own AC because the house AC barely reaches it and if I didnt do things this way anything over 73 for the house would put the office at 80 when Im working.

I'm in South Florida and I usually keep it at 77 unless it gets SUPER FUCKING HOT, then I turn it down a bit to 75 or 76.

I think I got it set to 75 right now and I'm nice and comfy.

I wince whenever our bill is close to $200. I imagine some here are seeing $500 bills or close to it. No thank you

I love a cold house but I don't want a crazy high bill nor do I wanna kill my system, so I keep it at 72. Ceiling fans help

72.
74 if it's really hot and on constantly. Any warmer than that and I can't be comfortable.
Last year, my bills during the Summer were pretty bad, so I'm gonna try upping it to 80 when I'm at work.

I have free but shitty central air, I can set it to 50 but it still gets hot in here

76. In Arizona. I sleep during the day with an ice pack in the bed instead of cranking it down more, it can't keep up during the summer months anyway.

The wonderful world of having thyroid issues and being unable to regulate your own body temperature, while simultaneously living somewhere that's just too damned hot.

I have to work around an annoying 4PM-8PM electricity price increase.
I do get cheaper power from 12-6 though. I should probably nudge it down a tad more during that period.

Since Sweden isn't entirely immune to the effects of climate change, I got a portable AC last year. Hopefully I won't have to find out what I need to set it at or if it's sufficient for making my apartment tolerable during a heat wave, or the cost. I prefer a room temperature around 21C (70F), but any degree of cooling during temperatures above 25C (77F) would be greatly appreciated.

Normally 72 or 73 during the day, down as low as 70 if it's really hot. Same for night, probably start at 72-70 and go as far down as 68 if it's brutally hot.

But we'll also turn it off if it's in the high 70s/low 80s and just open windows during the day, we get a nice cross breeze.
Some of these numbers are wild. What are y'alls energy bills like lol
Very cheap, my building is newer and the units have super-efficient windows.

74 during the day, 65 at night. I'd love too keep it cooler during the day, but it's too expensive. I have fans pointed at me pretty much all day instead of lowering the thermostat.

The two window units are set to 74F, but they're pretty much on constantly when the sun is out, and then for at least a few hours after. Actual house temp usually hovers around 77-81F.

I set it at 68. But it's either too hot, or my air conditioner is acting up (probably both), so it hovers around 78-85 these days as the indoor temperature, and I hate it.
