I keep mine at 79 during the day and 76 at night. My house somehow always feels cooler than the reported temperature. Never experienced such a phenomenon in any of my other homes.

76 if it's 95 or below. If it's higher, then 78.

We have really high ceilings upstairs so I can usually expect it to be about 3-5 degrees warmer up there even when we run the AC at these temps.

During the day time, don't really care. It can get close to 80 in here and I am fine just turning on the ceiling fan and popping my shirt off.

At night, I need it ice cold. I use a window unit in our bedroom so we aren't cooling the whole house, since it is just my wife and I.

64, my apartment is semi-basement so it costs basically nothing to keep it cool as possible.

68 at night. 70 during the evenings. Like 75ish when I'm at work.

Anything hotter and I practically melt. I'm in TX, and the house actually has 2 HVACs.

Last summer, it was basically 115 here for 40 days straight.

Just had a child, so likely around 70 this summer! Prior to that, it was usually 76 until my wife went insane and turned it down.

76F is what we had it last year I believe. Gets around 98F or so outside at the hottest. Humidity is always low so higher temps ain't bad. People who like 68-72F must live in a high humidity area.

73 but apparently my 5 ton ac unit isn't enough(should be more than enough)for 1850 sq ft home because the MR which happens to be the furthest room from the unit won't go below 78. I'm going to have it checked out later this week to see what's going on.

76-77 Day while we're home (it's basically off while no one is home unless we're in a heatwave above 90°)
72 Night (sometimes 70-71 on especially humid nights)

do y'all have pets or kids at home? or do you just like lighting money on fire lol

I have 4 cats, I live where it is very humid and I work from home.

I refuse to sit in my house and either be freezing or sweating. My average electric & gas bill is $150 a month. I'm fine paying it to be comfortable.

Even in higher humidity those are still low temps. I often visit relatives in the mid-west, and even when its super humid I still feel I need a sweatshirt when they set the AC below like 74. Feels like such a waste of electricity keeping it that low since I put on more layers

Whatever my shitty single pane windows from the 90's will allow when it's 105+

Usually between 80-82.

If I had energy efficient windows, I would do 77-78

Everyone is is different, at 70 my husband walks around with a t shirt, cotton shorts and is barefoot. He doesn't even own a sweatshirt.

yeah you're not wrong. I live in Phoenix AZ and I'm built for the environment. Its 79 in my room right now and I'm comfortable with the fan on and wearing long pants and a long sleeve shirt. For me 70 is hoodie weather no matter what the humidity is. I also haven't had working AC in my car since like 2018, it sucks but I manage.

76 during the day, 74 at night since the upstairs gets hotter and doesn't have its own thermostat (nor is there a ceiling fan in the bedroom).

76 all day and night, but I'm looking for any reason not to run that fucker unless we are about to melt. It gets too warm, we usually just strip and watch television in our skivvies.

No AC now. When I lived in a hot, humid climate it was like 76-78 during the day. Dry, air conditioned air is perfectly nice at that temp. That's the beginning of unpleasant outside for me though.

72 is the sweet spot for me. I've got my smart thermostats set to a very tight 71-73 range, which means my home is usually 73 during the summer.

Don't have AC, just open the upstairs windows during the day and the downstairs windows at night.
