It's Nice to see that many companies that never made anything for the Wii U or even the 3DS are now working on the Switch considering how succesful it has been. However it called my attention how Eidos (western Square Enix) hasn released anything for it aside from indie games published by them (like Forgotton Anne), they have not Made any port of anything, not even Life is Strange which is not a game with super instense graphics, at the point that Vapyr Will be Dontnod first game for the Switch. It's support has been even worse than EA, which at least made those fifa ports as well as publishing indie games for it. That is pretty weird considering how solid Square Enix Japan support has been so far.
This is not to port beg, but to ask if there is a reason for that. Maybe they said in an interview they are not interesed on it?.
I'm willing to chalk that up to their general mismanagement of Eidos properties/studios. The last solid thing to come out of those was Deus Ex Human Revolution (Mankind Divided was amazing, but Squeeenix did everything humanly possible to sabotage it).
I dunno who's in charge of SE Europe, but they aren't making good decisions with existing properties (though LiS and Just Cause franchises that were SE's own initiatives are in a better spot). But the "core" Eidos franchises?
-Deus Ex- botched Mankind Divided's launch, on ice for God knows how long (though apparently not dead, EM is now working on a Guardians of the Galaxy game, so who knows when we'll see DX again?)
-Thief- tried to reboot the series and make Garret Batman- on ice/dead? (I dunno, haven't heard anything about this)
-Hitman- allowed IO to buy themselves out
-Tomb Raider- tried to turn into Uncharted clone, and got progressively lukewarm reception.
-Legacy of Kain- abortive multi-player spin-off "Nosgoth" cancelled in beta; a new project "Dark Sun" scrapped. Basically at this point no sign of life what-so-ever, :(
Instead, we now have the Marvel multi-game deal.
