The game shows you random events from human history, and you have to drag them onto a timeline. You lose a life each time you make a mistake.

My high score is 12, because my knowledge is embarrassingly Eurocentric. Beat my score, you clever bastards!

(maybe this should be on gaming side?)

This is a neat card based board game. Super easy to set up and play.
I think it's called Timeline

usually the bottom of the card is a clue as to the year they are aiming for

I looked for it and you're right, it's called Timeline. It looks cool! They have different sets with different themes (like what Fantastapotamus wants from this game) and you can mix them up and build a giant deck.

Timeline: Inventions

A game about history that’s fun for the whole family, even if you don’t know your history!

I am a master of history. Ask me anything about if the Corvair was introduced before Van Damme was born.

Unfortunately a bit busted, it had "British Empire" as 1583 apparently for England claiming but not actually occupying a part of Newfoundland. Which is also a solid 124 years before the Act of Union which created Great Britain. I also had some legendary figures like Seth from the Bible.

Got a streak of 5 three times in a row, but just landed 12. Pretty neat idea.

Gutted I got Bill Paxton's birth wrong. I was thinking more 52/53 so placed him before On the Waterfront.

Thank you game for taking pity on me and asking if Vox the website was older or younger than Marcus Aurelius.

Current highest streak is 14.

The only thing I dislike are the actror/singer/host born in the last 50 years that aren't really special, but they needed something for after the second world war timeline.
They could easily add some newer countries, wars, crisis, technology made... Or am I just unlucky with my cards?

Ha, game says the Colt gun company was created in 69 AD.

And that the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle was written in 173.

My mind breaks into pieces when people can remember specific events from specific months, dates and years. I get the idea of 'history' but never understand why/how people learn this stuff.

Edit: With a streak of 6, I feel luck has been on my side. I don't know shit about shit.

Got a 21, made a lot of inferences for the oldest stuff and was lucky with getting some relatively "modern" stuff

So I'm guessing they didn't have 7 Up at the first Oscars. Lame.

The 1st Academy Awards took place on May 16, 1929.
7up was introduced June 19, 1929.

This would be more fun if you could filter certain categories, like removing art history. Or doing one with only the founding dates of countries.

16 is the highest for me so far. A lot of it is based on luck, it's annoying when you get a card that's in between two close years.

Yeah I love history but only got an 11

They start putting dates real close to each other to fuck you over
