The netcode is still bad, deaths around corners are just prevalent as before, and it's especially noticeable when it's to someone with a sniper rifle

Past that I like the updated visuals and stuff, and I agree with the sentiment that if this game is to launch anytime soon, I would like to see some new maps, guns, factions, etc because I've basically been seeing the same content for the past few years already

Also the controller feels worse than previous tests, from what I can tell the settings from the last test carried over, but it feels like they messed with the sensitivity curve because it does not feel like the last test

One of the dmrs is two shot to the body, that needs to go and probably the one shot snipers lol.
Speaking of DMRs, the fact the SVD is a 2 shot to the head without the heavy barrel because it deals 99 damage and not 100 feels awful lol. Unless there's a way to significantly increase the rof to mitigate that, it feels like you have to waste a slot on that attachment.

I miss the old days when you kill or get killed on 1vs1 duel.

Nowdays 80% of the deaths are from behind from a rusher.

Killzone 2 was the goat preventing this

First dive into this, didn't participate in the previous demos, but as someone that rotates these types of games (my rotation includes Overwatch 2, R6Siege, COD, Rogue Company, Apex, The Finals, BF, etc.), my initial feeling is that I do not like this at all. Feels sluggish, killed behind walls, getting one tapped constantly while the TTK on my opponents feels triple what mine is, the gunplay feels unsatisfying, etc. Will give it a few more but this needs more time in the oven.

Also, as others said, SBMM. I'm 43 with kids. Don't need to be in a lobby of 6 supernatural John Wicks.

I had a great time with last year's beta, but this isn't doing it for me now. It feels much stiffer and clunkier than I remember, and the net code is still bad. I played like 5 matches between today and yesterday, and I have no urge to play more now

The game is OK. I like the look of the maps, gunplay feels a little sloppy. I don't know. Seems like there are some good and fun ideas here, just not executed as well as I'd like.

EDIT: I highly recommend turning the dead zone down if your controller allows it. It feels terrible before that.

"Call of Duty killer" my ass. This thing couldn't kill Warface.

This feels so… cheap. It's like a AA seventh generation shooter's publisher-mandated multiplayer mode.

Can a game be out of its hype window before even releasing? Feels like the world already passed this one by. After MW2 would have been the time to strike. Why would anyone leave their routine shooter for this?

I missed all the initial talk of this game. Decided to give it a shot since I have nothing else to play right now in terms of FPS and for some reason this feels like a mobile game to me? The weapons don't seem to have any punch and even on mnk the movement just seems kinda slow. It really lands in a "i'll play this for like a week before the new season of another game comes out".

At least in COD it's by design, they literally have had revenge spawns as a feature.
You kill someone and it tries to get them back near you and behind you most often,

View: https://youtu.be/4_2DATCQ8ew?si=VAeO3XrcWbX93zNA
the more you kill that person the more likely you will get screwed.

If the game can't screw you(like your team locking down a part of the map) as soon as you die or someone else they will be spawned all the way across the map by themselves

They also just don't give a shit with some of the recent games with elements that stopped that in previous games.
Older CODs had spawn block timers(like 15-30sec)that blocked certain spawns being used by enemies if the other team spawned there.
This is no longer the case and enemies can spawn in the same spawn 2 seconds after you spawn there and only took 1 step.

For me that is probably the biggest issue in COD games atm

I'm sorry but this game is a huge miss. They had an opportunity to go after the classic CoD feel, but instead they chased trends and put in a bunch of Valorant mechanics that no one asked for. Also, the announcer is very annoying. Played one game and had enough, I really don't know why this was made.

so in one of the previous tests I was having a good time albeit it felt a bit jank

now tho idk...it feels like one of those COD wannabe games that came out in like 2007-2014 (Warface for example)
where it just feels slightly off in the movement or just the gun feel.
If anything all this game does is remind me that

A) Watch Dogs 2 is massively underrated and Legion was a disgrace
B) I need a new full Division 3, I need it in the snow and I needed it yesteryear
C) Can we pleeeeaaase for the love of fuck get something new Splinter Cell
D) Having the FarCry 6 faction is fuckin laughable when the new one is gonna release within like 12 months and use a completely different group
This slot should have been Assassin's Creed and not have that for like a year after for when this game is probably already dead.

These latest impressions don't sound great at all. I was really hoping XDefiant would have carved out its own niche if it had released earlier with maybe a little jank. The hype was kinda deflating after the last delay and now all hype might be dead at this rate, ngl.

Wonder if this is just gonna end up as Hyper Scape 2.0 at this rate.

It's bizarre, I even went back and played another match and a half to confirm it, but after a year-long delay the game somehow feels worse and has a worse netcode. I'm even watching some gameplay I had saved from when I was playing the beta last year, and it looks like a better, smoother experience.

I think the only improvement I've seen from the last time is that the assets are prettier and I like the new splash screen lol

It might be helpful if the "input based" match making actually worked. Getting melted by KBM players all over the place while using my controller. Unless multiple console people play at max sensitivity. There's no way controller players move like that.

Also, apparently spamming the jump button will not be possible in the full game. So, no bunny hopping, thank fuck. It's a feature that was not ready for this test.

I'm having zero issues with net code or performance whatsoever. Everything feels buttery smooth and exact. I like the gunplay and movement, reminds me of 2042 precise floaty-ness. I love how there is almost zero bullshit. It literally to me feels like CoD used to. Just running around with some guns and the occasional special attack (vs. killstreaks). I even like the maps (except for Arena) and the graphics are pleasing enough.

I played some rounds with input based matchmaking off and have to say this might be just as important to me than no SBMM. It is just so refreshing not dying from mouse players aiming for you in a split second. And the fact that there are rounds with bigger skill differences just makes the game more fun. Sometimes it is blissfully easy to pick people off, sometimes I get absolutely obliterated, but not frustratingly so because I am on both ends of the equation, or mostly somewhere in the middle.

Looking forward to this releasing. If there is a constant stream of new content (maps and specialists) I will definitely spend money on this. And I almost never do that in live service games.

Game is bad. Nothing else to say, there is nothing really redeeming about it. Its buggy, clunky and the networking is just awful.
