there are like, thousands of youtube channels about having sex, how to have sex, sex toy reviews and anything else related to sex.

it's really not unusual for youtube at all for there to be a channel that creates content about gay sex in a manner that isn't unrealistic porn shoots.

I'm sure you can understand that talking about sex or sex ed is quite different than this. Sex ed is also provided differently according to age.

I'm gay. I don't see why you'd have YT allowing soft porn on their site (be that straight or gay). If you wanna pull this shit, go to pornhub or something.
It's not soft porn at all? the channel is specifically aimed at destigmatizing how people view gay sex and give gay men access to sexual education specifically designed for them since we don't have avenues for that anywhere else.

the video is not focusing on any type of pleasure or is trying to stimulate its targeted audience. it's literally just Davey attempting to determine if he can tell the difference between dildos and real dicks. it's more akin to a product review than a porn shoot.

these types of channels are all over YouTube and have been around since the inception of the site, I'm not sure why you're acting like this sort of content isn't completely normal for YouTube.

i thought someone had put actual porn on youtube and it was somehow still up, but it's actually not a big deal at all (except that uncut thick boy). if you have a problem with it, you're a bit of a prude.

Should it be? There is youtubekids that NEEDS to be safe for kids. Idk if regular youtube should, nor do i care really. My bigger question is how do you even find out about those videos?

Honestly, my biggest concern was children looking into videos like that which are not age-appropriate. But since others have mentioned that it's age-locked and there's a kid-friendly Youtube alternative, I don't have many objections to it. I think it's awesome that he's trying to push a channel to promote sex positive education for other gay/bi and msm.

He's honestly a refreshing change from the normal gay influencer who only cares about their looks and being around other shredded gay men. He launched an adult site of his own a few years ago that's completely different from your typical gay porn site that tries to show men having intimate and real connections rather than just exchanging sex like everywhere else.

In 2017, he added to those responsibilities by launching HimerosTV.com, a website where Wavey gets to deliver his mantra of mindful exploration of intimacy between men.

The concept is meant to both expand and replace the template that the entertainment industry plants in the minds of almost every gay man: that sex is transactional. That people are archetypes meant to be used and discarded like products. That bringing 100 percent of who you are into your own sex life is something to fear.

Videos on the site turn that idea inside out. They include a man well into his 80s sharing a hot tub with men in their prime. A quadriplegic is shown having the time of his life, and viewers can choose from an assortment interracial and daddy/boy scenes. Subscribers will even find guided meditations (set to steamy visuals) on how to make even the most casual encounters into something beautiful that connects men to same-sex impulses that are as old as time.

"It's authentic and joyful, the way we portray men interacting," he says. "And it resonates deeply with my own experience. What most people watch is certainly designed to get you off, which is fine. But as gay men, it's also served as our sex education, so a lot of us try to emulate what we see on our screens in our bedrooms. Porn is very good at getting you off, but it does nothing to create intimacy or connection. All of these things are important to living your best life. So I wondered: 'Can I use the same formula as my YouTube videos, and instead of goofiness and humor, can I package this so that we create content that is instructive rather than destructive?'"

Not being licensed in the field himself, Wavey partnered with tantric instructors, mental health experts and sexologists to create videos that enhance men's experience of what's possible. "So on our site, maybe the guy you see has a belly, or maybe he's 83, or he might be in a wheelchair. We have our share of what the industry would call traditional guys on the site, too. But our community is so very siloed: young with young, older with older, and so forth. We're trying to incorporate more of the range of guys we all experience in the real world, because they're all hot in their own way. We want to open hearts and minds at the same time."

Wavey believes that because we live in a youth-obsessed culture — especially when it comes to sex — people forget that experience has its advantages. "We filmed a scene with three generations of gay men," he says. "Younger guys and guys in their 50s, 60s and 70s. And you can see what happens. The older men were so in their bodies with sound and movement; really inhabiting the moment. Yet it's the 20-somethings we tend to collectively celebrate, even though they're just starting out."

Yeah and this is sex ed for adults. I just watched a portion of the video and got that the point was to show that there's a range of products available now that go beyond what people typically think. Half of the video is talking about the texture, softness, etc. of the dildos in a very factual way. Then the video literally ends with a "what did we learn" segment and the dildos are presented as a safe alternative during the pandemic. Clearly the agenda was to get people over the idea that dildos are just these hard things that can't be enjoyable.

straight people discovering Davey Wavey's channel every few months will never not be very amusing to me. he's had his channel since 2006 and all of his videos revolve around gay sex. youtube was never a platform for just kids, so that's always a weird perspective to bring up for me since Davey's videos are all age restricted. don't let your kid use Twitter or Instagram either because you can find similar content there too.

while there is a legitimate issue with how youtube moderates its content and has no consistency, with Davey's channel in particular, it's usually always just a cover for alt right shit heads to be openly homophobic. the only reason this is getting traction right now is because The Quartering tweeted about it yesterday.

This is facts

same thoughts went through my head when i saw the video getting coverage

Came in here to say this. His channel is a breath of fresh air for queer folk like me and is a net positive for the community as a whole.
