As a reminder, these tracks play during a nerdy card game, I don't know what Konami feeds their composers but you don't see me complaining.

These are just a few examples, but there's waaay more out there, these are just from recent-ish games, tbh I can't recall of older games have good ost or not

This absolute banger from the GBA game, Duel Academy, has to be one of the most underrated tracks in YGO video games.

I played a lot of the portable yugioh games(DS and GBA) in school and can't comment on the music.
Master Duel is nothing but certified bangers tho. My most played game of 2023 between Pc, Ps5, Xbox and mobile, with 160+ hours on Xbox alone.

One thing I found neat was there was a leitmotif used through Duelist of the Roses and Falseboubd Kingdom.

It kind of sounded vaguely SimCityish?

YuGiOh World Championship 2006 on the GBA is still the goat YuGiOh game. From presentation, to gameplay to soundtrack.

This thread is also a daily reminder that yugioh games will likely never get ported :(

Imagine Nintendo dropping a few of these on the Switch NSO with online support. FUCK.

You're damn right they do. It's an actual shame that they stopped making single player yu-gi-oh games like they used to.

There's two on the Switch!

Rush Duel is only 10$ on the US Eshop right now. Small card pool but it has a 3D overworld to explore. Uses the Rush Duels which are infinite Summons and drawing up to 5 cards each turn. New card pool but with a decent amount of classic cards from the early days. Closest to a classic GBA/DS Yu-Gi-Oh experience.

The Japanese only sequel Go Rush is free on the Japanese Eshop. Ditches the 3D overworld but has about 1500~ cards. All the characters from the first Switch game are included so I'd go with this. Language barrier isn't too hard as Yugipedia/Rushcard.io has all the cards translated.

I honestly think the Japanese sequel is awesome. So much content for literally free. The only limit is on Ranked online which seems dead anyway.

Oh yeah, aware of it, just disappointed that there are so few of them / they've abandoned the overworld gameplay and a lot of what made the old ones fun. Plus rush duel 1 is unfinished in English and the second is JP only. šŸ˜”

Feels like they mostly care about duel links and master duel and the like now. No room for Tag Force or World Championship style games. Alas...

Yeah it's a shame.

Still I honestly recommend everyone go get Rush Duel Go Rush on the JP Eshop. It's free and I've put in 30 hours already.

There's no microtransactions...though the post game grind for cash is a bit annoying, playing the story I got about 15 or so decent decks.

Plus you get to experience the greatest protag of Yu-Gi-Oh...Yuudias Velgear.

Yeah Master Duel's music makes it much more bearable when you're being destroyed by a sweaty dude running Kashtira.
