Natto is actually good. Texture is maybe gross but in small amounts I think it's not that offensive.

Not that I'll ever try it, but I'm convinced balut has to be the nastiest food item on earth.

What else 🤔

pavakka (or bitter gourd/melon) is super divisive between Indians. I love it but it's definitely an acquired taste. You can fry it, make a curry out of it, or sautee it into a vegetable thoran.

Hawaiian Pizza is way too divisive for what is ultimately a rather unremarkable food. I can't picture why people love or hate it.

I personally like Hawaiian pizza but that's just me.

I don't get the appeal of pizza and ranch dressing though but I think that's because I don't like ranch.

growing up I was very confused when my (white) classmates would pour soy sauce over their white rice. I never did that in my (East Asian) household.

This is a weird one. I don't like pineapple on my pizza, but it's no worse than any of the many other toppings I don't want on a pizza.
But bring up Hawaiian style in any group of people, and it won't be long before physical violence is threatened.

You disappoint me, soap-Era. Cilantro destroys everything it touches for me.

There are weird people out there that like black licorice. Really, it's true.
Natto is great, I've liked it when I've had it.

Chitlins.

Tou keep that fucking slave food away from me, grandma or I'm calling Harriet Tubman on you.

Agreed. In Peru, they make a soup called Mondongo Italiano that is cow tripe (stomach lining), and almost exclusively use the second stomach, which has a chewy texture with a honeycomb pattern. Absolutely disgusting. No intestines, stomach linings, and so on. Thank you very much.

Sorry OP but Natto is so unbelievably gross. The smell of it, the taste, everything. I see people just down it and die inside.

Normally there is a divide.

1) People who tasted horrible frozen durian shipped across continents.
2) People who tried it flesh in SE asia.

Still divisive.

Definitely divisive even when you're eating it fresh.

The shipped ones are actually probably less divisive in that no one likes them.

For some reason, Chicago-style pizza gets many people feeling really insecure.

I can't...

I will literally eat someone's nasty-ass baked chicken, a plate of potato salad with fruit in it, or even mac and cheese with peas mixed in before I eat chitlins. I'm sorry, even at its best it's the worst.

My wife loves Natto. I can't be near it when it's cooked - stinks the kitchen out.

I love marmite - my wife hates it

I like some offal - kidney, liver , tongue for instance, but don't think I could eat heart or brain

Raisins, for some reason. I really don't know why, I like them, but they're pretty unremarkable all in all. But some people really detest them.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with pineapple on a pizza.

"But it's a fruit!"

So are peppers.
So are tomatoes.

It's no different from any other topping, you either like it or you don't, don't buy into the meme.
