Also, anyone know where I can buy perspex boxes? So I can put these on my wall shelves, but put the perspex clear box over them so you can see them clearly, but they're protected from dust

Popped my Hot Toys cherry. Just Empire Vader to go and then I'm done. Hoping to get some decent backdrops and photos at the weekend so it's not just blatantly a bedroom.

As with any figure that uses small batteries, remove the battery after posing/pictures so that it doesn't corrode and damage your figure. Figured I'd give you a heads up. It's a bit of a hassle but at least you'll have piece of mind that it won't leak.

My Hot Toys Spider-Man Deluxe came in. A lot of collectors seem to have him in a museum pose so as to not ruin his suit; not me. Spider-Man looks better in dynamic poses and if that ruins the suit a little, eh, I'm not too worried about that.

Looks amazing

Also, I probably won't use batteries in a head ever again. Trying to get them into the BVS Battle damaged Batman Hot Toy was a trial of patience.

I can't even get my BvS armored Batman's head onto his body... I have it just sitting on the knob. I gave up after half an hour of trying to pop it on, felt like I was gonna break something.

You'll never be able to have him in a pose that isn't dynamic. When you straighten his legs again, he'll have flappy, loose hanging costume near his knees. Happened to my Man of Steel Superman. On the positive side, dynamic poses look cool and as long as you leave it in one, it won't really matter. On the negative side, resell value is shot.

What's the best way to get flight poses with 1/6 figures? Since the stands are basic and just hook the crotch

Something like this:

USA/163050830537?epid=2055720223&hash=item25f6963ac9:g:JO4AAOSwJ85a~HIM:sc:USPSFirstClass!07733!US!-1

The Hot Toys Man of Steel figures came with a stand like that. But it probably can't hold up a diecast Iron Man figure.

I'm not too concerned about resell value. If I had to choose between dynamic vs museum poses, I'm rolling with dynamic. So I'll live with the "downsides".

With Antman/Wasp drawing closer, is the Marvel Studios Edition of Yellowjacket have a solid date? The Hot Toys one got canned right?

Thanks mate, I'll do that. Probably take them out and pop them back in when Vader arrive later this year.

Honestly, might cancel my Black Panther pre-order for that if it's available in the UK.

These are the 4 convention exclusives, Nurse Joker might be a regular figure down the line. Not sure but only way to get these in NA is through SideShow directly. So UK folks will need to pre-order as these always sell out quick and are going to be expensive on eBay.

I want T'Chaka, I'll pass on Cap, and a Nurse Joker would be very tempting too.

Is this true of Mezco One:12 as well? Now I'm worried for my Spidey.

Tbf, I can't see it being a massive issue, even if you wanted to sell it.

Surely NOBODY poses Spidey just standing there?
As long as it only stretches the costume, it's not a super big deal. But for rubber skin Hot Toys like Thor, the rubber actually cracks over time, so you're forced to keep his arms straight a majority of the time.

I'm kind of disappointed they chose that concept costume and that they didn't make a Hot Toys around one of these concept art pieces:

I like Cap, but not enough to buy.

T'Chaka is tempting, but I hope a UK retailer gets him in so I can avoid customs.

So, are defects a regular thing with Hot Toys? Only had a proper look at the Luke figure last night and noticed there's quite a big rip in one of the boots, there's paint chipped off the lightsaber and half of the metal wire is poking out of the hood of the cloak. I've contacted Sideshow who say they'll replace the parts when they get them in, but for a figure that's cost well over 200 quid, it's a bit poor.

Which somehow converts to about $400 in the UK :(

If Hot Toys were $400 in the US, I wouldn't collect them. :/

I should have snagged the Stan Lee Hot Toys a year or two back when it was discounted everywhere (could get it as low as $150 shipped). Now, it's skyrocketed over $400. Not a price where I'm comfortable paying for.

Went to 4 different Walgreens yesterday looking for the Legends X-Men wave and only 1 store had them in stock. Then that store didn't have Storm or Sabertooth and the only Wolverine they had had bad paint on the face :-/

Yeah, currency conversion is fucked here, as is Customs and Postage.

At least you found them. My Walgreens sucks. They still have wave out that released last year. refusing to put them on sale. At some point just count your losses and either heavily discount them or sell/donate them to goodwill or something. Those things aren't going to ever move.
