About what I expected. Simple arena fighter that's an excuse to try and use Xrd's graphical style in a more 3D environment since that's the aspect it's most struggles (ust look at most story mode cutscenes for Guilty Gear). Hope we get some confirmation on branching story paths.

Considering it's meant to be an alternative telling of the story, I wonder how much they'll retell/cover. If it means maybe changing the 2nd half which was easily the weakest part of the series, I'd be up for it.
Also damn it, this looks rather good, but then I remember it's not ASW developing it, but the team who made that Little Witch Academia title, which I've heard.....not good things.

As someone who watched and enjoyed the show, I'd buy this game if it got a western Xone release with and English track.

Incredibly strange to see ArcSys continue to ignore the Xbone when it comes to licensed products, but again it's unsurprising. Shame for the audience who likes KLK tho

It's very much in line with LWA's graphical style since it's the same developer, Arcsys being the publisher was a big troll move.
Hopefully they learned something and the game part of this video game is good this time.
Gundam, in Japan. Virtual On once upon a time. ARMS still has a niche comp scene and sold well enough.
Their work on the LWA is probably why ASW is publishing it. They tried their best on a way smaller budget and engine so might as well get the guys that actually developed the style to help. I will say though that the fanservice on the LWA game was amazing so I hope we get something to that level here as well.
They said it's a 3D fighter rather than an arena fighter, and that it's an alternative story with Satsuki as the main character.

It's funny, it looks like they're aping the style of Guilty Gear while just having it play like a super basic arena fighter

They hinted that the game might have a "musou" mode like how in the anime they defeated dozens of enemies with a single strike.

2nd half wasn't just weak, it had scenes that straight up ruined the show beyond repair and you probably know exactly what I mean.
That was all it had sadly, the game part was terrible and I truly hope they are getting some assistance from arcsys because they themselves don't inspire much confidence tbh.

Because fuck, can we stop doing that guys? I get it, Evangelion was a big deal and inspired all of us, but like... Stop trying to pull off a ridiculously specific ending that has only ever really worked there.
I don't know how you're forgetting those fucked up scenes with the mother and daughter. I can only imagine how awkward that show would have been to watch in any kind of anime club/group watch.
I honestly remember very little of the second half outside of the ending, and thinking they violently jumped the shark around... Episode ~19?
