I have incredibly racist "friends", and I've tried talking to them about this stuff. One of them is 100% a Nazi cuz yesterday he posted a pic of an iron cross with 1939 on it on the Facebook group. Guess what trying to talk to them got me back last year? A week of bullying, me considering suicide and then being ignored for over half a year cuz I'm a "toxic liberal". You don't get to call an appeal to genocide a "political view". Its not a magic spell you can cast on any heinous thing someone says to shield them from consequences. EVERYTHING IS POLITICAL. If you were to joke loudly about killing someone's family within their earshot, no one on this planet would expect to get a civil response from them. We live in world where talking about exterminating other races in public might be a physically dangerous thing to do *gasp*. If you think actions like this put both sides on a more equal footing to any degree, you aren't capable of being a useful ally. At the very least, they can be made to understand that they don't belong in normal society. A young person who might be receptive to their ideas should get to see what a loser in life they are because of it, should get to see that they lost everything just for revealing what they are, and maybe be deterred from choosing the same fate. A fascist should never be comfortable and never feel safe, in any part of their life. But while you're trying to accomplish any of this, a mass of dead weight (moderates) will just lay on top of you and immobilize/suffocate you while a minority of fascists take over.
