Hey, it's good to see number 53 is there but...that article is poorly written and a little hard to follow. Could it be changed to the Wikipedia page?

This little detail is quite terrifying:

Officers just going around shooting others without conscious thought. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We really, really, really, really, really, really, need to destroy the police union in the US.

They literally shot this man after IDing the toy truck believed to be a weapon and he had his hands up the entire time. No sudden movements, walking towards police, hostile comments, etc.

This was attempted murder.

Man there were two cops in a restaurant I walked into yesterday and I accidentally cut them in line (the line was long and they were towards the back, looking at the menu). I got to the front and one of them wasn't too happy about it. He tried to call me out, I apologized, but the other one just told him to let it go. After getting my food and walking back to my car he literally followed me out and tried to instigate an argument with me. I just shrugged it off and kept it pushing. All these things OP posted was going through my head. One bad move to make him upset and that could've been it. It really sucks to have to live in fear like that.

It is unpleasant & I'm waiting until they held more accountable

#63 is some straight bullcorn. I'm sure they all are just as bad, but reading the text for the link that one piqued my interest moreso than some of the others. Woman had asthma and copd and died three days after the asshole judge treated her like shit and didn't allow her to speak (due to her condition). She was released from jail the day before she died. She likely died as a result of being in jail and not being able to get her normal treatment (that's just my speculation). All because of a domestic dispute with her daughter.

DO NOT CALL THE COPS!!! I say this emphatically because I know first hand they are rabbid dogs. The only situations you should call the cops in are ones with no antagonist. I've called them for insurance purposes when my car was hit (parked... no actual person to villify, harass, or arrest). Maybe I'd call them for insurance purposes if I were robbed (they aren't going to investigate or recover my lost property but at least I've reported it). Any situation that involves a live human being I'd think hard about if it warrants someone dying or getting arrested on some garbage because that is the likely outcome if you call the police.

I came into here and clicked on one of the ___ while Black threads in the OP. I don't even know what to say. Just damn depressing. I want to say that growing up I'd never seen any of that, or knew anybody that did that kind of thing, but I realize (as an adult who has been trying to learn that not all people get to experience life as a white person in the States), that that don't mean shit. That we have this in what is supposed to be one of the "best" countries in the world...

Playing loud music while Black:

Cop is back on the force after being fired from another department for beating his wife and not letting her escape the house. Clearly a stand up guy who should be policing the community.

The sad part in all this is, the only thing that likely kept him from beating that kid was the reminder he was being videotaped.

He had that baton extended and ready to swing.

The older woman knew that he needed to turn down that music because unlike him, she knows what would happen if the police were called. They aren't coming to be peace officers.

The reality is, she knew that he could yell, "I know my rights!" all he wanted.

Wouldn't matter. The police aren't your friends and certainly not in a place like that.

Honestly, that "I know my rights" line only works for white people. We all know that. If you go look up those sovereign citizen people on Youtube and see what they do at traffic stops, it will tell you all you need to know.

Same with just acting like an ass to a cop.

Our elders know this shit but it's always the young ones hollering about rights when older folk know better. Youngsters think shit is different but our elders know better.

My mom used to say "Hard head gets a soft behind." That knowledge wasn't just advice about home living...

Did some digging because if an officer gets arrested for breaking the law, they get fired. Turns out that he did get fired after three months, but the city and the agency decided to bring it down to a 90-day suspension with no back pay. Of course, having assault and false imprisonment charges should keep you from being an officer, obviously, except the charges were dismissed after he completed a District Attorney diversion program.

http://www.ksla.com/story/38142810/...-terminated-for-domestic-abuse-case-dismissed

The reason for that decision was not in the letter dated December 13, 2017.

The veteran cop was arrested back on May 10, 2017 and charged with domestic abuse battery and false imprisonment, following a physical confrontation with his wife in Bossier City. Three months after the arrest, in August of 2017, Shreveport Police Chief Alan Crump terminated Thomas for alleged violations of department policies.

Thomas was prepared to fight for his job, appealing his termination to the Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board. That appeal would never be heard because in November 2017, the criminal charges against him were dismissed after he completed a District Attorney diversion program in Bossier Parish.

About three weeks later, the city came to an agreement with Thomas, reinstating his employment as a Shreveport police officer.

None of the records in this case indicate the exact department policy violations Officer Thomas allegedly violated.

The diversion program Thomas entered and completed is typically offered to most people accused of domestic assault battery for the first time.

I agree with diversion programs, but it shouldn't allow an officer to get their job back. This officer had a history of complaints against him involving his aggressive nature.

My mom was born and raised in the Deep South.

Whenever I meet someone else with a parent or two from the South, I feel like we had the same mother when we start swapping stories.

Loopholes like this put psychos back on the street to "enforce" laws.

I can't believe the entirety of that "while black" list in the OP is real. I am at a loss.

I was hoping at least one of them would be an Onion article or something, but no.

It's pretty bad that they wouldn't even give a reason.
The article goes a little in detail about the principal having issues with this young man before.
He also acknowledged some past run-ins with the principal over student protests.

I'm sure they didn't want this fella having a platform where he could probably, and rightfully, put their asses to the coals in front of everyone.

Added both.

Also, anyone have any information on this tidbit from the first link? See bolded:
oregonlive.com said:
This comes amid a series of recent racial-profiling cases that have caused public outrage, including someone in Ohio calling the police on a 12-year-old boy mowing a lawn, a California woman calling police to report black people barbecuing, and a San Francisco woman threatening to call police on a black girl selling water.
I heard about the other ones, but that not the lawn mowing incident. I'll look into that one.
Added as addendum to #66.
This one is especially infuriating to me. Now white people deputizing themselves to check and see if you are allowed access to certain spaces? Dude straight up said "if you had provided me your address it would've been fine." Like, who the fuck do you think you are?

Here's the story of the 12 year old cutting grass. He has his own little landscaping business - good for him!
CNN said:
A 12-year-old entrepreneur says his lawn-mowing business is getting a lot of new clients after someone called the police on him for mowing the wrong yard.

Reggie Fields runs Mr. Reggie's Lawn Cutting Service in the Cleveland, Ohio, suburb of Maple Heights. He has his cousins and his brothers and sisters working for him.
Of course, CNN doesn't bother to try to unpack the details of this phenomenon of young Black kids having the cops called on them for innocent activities.

Instead they reframe it into some disgusting bootstrapism porn. 'Murica.

How long until someone calls the cops on a black cop?
There have been several. I remember once case of a cop murdering and undercover Black cop.
Added.
Don't think I have seen this one posted and I have only seen it come up in a single news feed.

Eating at Subway.

Added.

Caller sounded like she was reminiscing over the Jim Crow days and wants to do her part to bring them back.

It wasn't until recently that I started hearing about stories like these, has it been a more recent thing (seen comments about bigots being emboldened, etc), or have these things always been happening and they are just being reported on now? Or maybe it is just my news bubble slowly expanding and now I am starting to see them.

Recordings lead to more reportings but this was always a thing.
