I'm also trying to do Calus Prestige carries, but boy is that hard. One, nobody wants to even do it. It's either because the loot sucks, it's too hard or everyone wants to cheese it (which I refuse to do). In D1 you could do triple or quad carries no problem. Hell, once I carried a clan of 5. But on Prestige, you really need 4 people who know what to do. Everyone in dark zone must kill their Psions or else everything is fucked. Throne room is all about staying alive and situational awareness.

I'm down to try either this next weekend or the one after depending on how things go with school.

I can get not wanting to do it. I can't get going in when you don't want to or have not even done all the parts of the raid.

It's bad enough trying to get through the raid when you don't care. It's incomprehensible trying to get through a prestige raid when you don't care.

There is the "Spark of Light" which boosts you straight to 40, I think they are pay only now. Around TTK there was Red Bull XP items similar to the poptarts codes for D2, not sure if they work still. Nightfull XP buff was re-added back in for Age of Triumph.

What I do is play the weekly stuff for the boxes each week, and make sure to be doing some bounties. So like I have a hand cannon crucible bounty. Every week end I come back I play a match or two or crucible and make sure I use a hand cannon. That's mainly because I try to level up factions for strange coins but still. I believe they give you XP.

Focus on whichever subclass you're closest to finishing.

Yea, it sucks, without the nightfall buff it took me about 20-25 hours when I had to do it for 1 class.

Yeah that's why I don't suggest just grinding for it unless you have time. Just put some significant time in it every week and you'll get there before you're used to it, doing things to boost your xp like bounties.

For any one that has seen leaks are we getting new subclass skills in the expansion? If not then what is purpose of increasing the level from 20 to 25?

So for iron banner season 2, will you be able to get the same armor from season 1 just with ornaments slot?

Or, do you need the armor still from season 1 to get the ornaments slot.

I know you should be able to get armor easier with legendary shards, just wonder if its worth the time to finish a set? I only have gloves from season 1...

I have read completely different gear and also just the addition of ornaments. I don't think it has explained with any certainty yet.

A few ~~lighthouse~~ spire virgins this week that got there:

Got Phen0m24 's friend Justin that i think works on the Playstation blog or something (?) there

I hadn't played with him but we had a nice and easy card with Josh's friend SonComet and he got his first flawless too

And some old timers here will know who he is but Rubenov got into D2 recently and today he got first flawless too. Obviously not a carry or anything since rubenov actually did carries himself back in D1 Y1. Was nice to catch him here.

Nah. It seems more like a standalone challenge mode type thing with "infinite" combinations of pre-made encounters?

Mercury, as a location, does have a big unique public event. From the way they've been talking about it, it does sound like it's gonna be similar to CoO/Archon's Forge.

Im at power level 264 and the drop is showing up as 283.
Should I wait until later to claim it or just say "Fuck it" and pick it right now?

You can get Flawless Emblems now in Shaxx packages. I got the Scarab ("Cat Emblem") the first shaxx package I turned in when the PlayStation exclusives were released on Xbox in D1.

Just claim it now. I don't believe the power level can be increased by waiting and picking it up at a higher level, I actually think even mine was 283 as well.

Well I've got 6 exotic engrams currently in my inventory. Trying to stack the odds on me finally getting the Orpheus Rigs but I think I may try to get two or three more to possibly help even more.

This is something I don't entirely understand myself. Strikes haven't had much of a use in D2 since the game started, tbh. They're not even in the Weeklies.

That's so weird. My team is the opposite. Everyone on my team knows the raid inside and out, and we can do it all fairly quickly now. Meanwhile, Trials is like a waking nightmare of depression for us.

Well, I got a pretty big friends list, made up of people I've met from LFG over the years. Some are amazing at Trials others are pros at raids. I'd say I'm decent at Trials but pretty much a (not trying to gloat) master at raids. I've done raids so many times where it's routine for me. I can hold my own in a sweaty match, but I need a good team. No way in hell I can carry people like others I know.

I had a guy from LFG the other day in my fire team complaining how hard Prestige was. I really wanted to tell him it that it isn't, but obviously that wouldn't have done any of us any favors. It is hard, but not ball crushingly impossible. You just gotta tighten up what you do and focus. People psych themselves out far too much and get into their own heads. They let the pressure and anxiety get to them.

Man, I haven't played this for a month. I was playing it everyday and enjoying it, then I missed two days of gaming and never felt the need to return. I have the season pass, so I guess I'll check out the DLC. My interest has fizzled though. PS4 Era Community are good people though.

Because it plays like a Theme park. You have activities to do on a weekly basis. Once you do them, you are got to go until next weekend.
Guild Wars 2 was like this for me as well, I only came back every time there was a new World wide activity or something that spruced up. When I wasn't working towards something (A specific set for example) I had nothing to work towards, and no drive to enter.

Right now I have the Raid to do and gear to build, but after that, unless I want to do some shooting in which Destiny 2 excels, I have no reason to boot the game

This is me.
My regular group are all really good at the PvE side of things but PvP it falls apart. We're not awful that we dont get any wins (5 wins max so far in trials) but there is something that just doesnt always work and we end up in a series of losses.

I have tried mutliple times to use the Last Hope but it just doesnt work as well as when i'm being killed by it. It also shouldnt be able to outgun something like Uriels from range which it has on multiple occurences this weekend.

Of course I am. Anything that is actually "new" instead of just slapping a name/adding another token with a new vendor to the the same/already existing activities will pique my interest. I just hope there is actually more end-game stuff added outside of the Nightfall/Raid (and Lair) which just lends to Bungie needing to break free from the idea that these are the only "end-game" activities they are allowed to do or something. Break the mold (which they really haven't done since House of Wolves and Prison of Elders) and give us more variety regarding activities than just the aforementioned.

Man been playing some Destiny 1 again waiting for DLC release for D2 and I'll tell you one thing I DON'T miss from D1...

God damn sprint lock. How was that a thing in D1, and how did it stay in the game for 3 full years. What a frustrating and pointless mechanic, so glad it was removed in D2. One of those things where you don't realize how good you have it until it is taken away...

We already know there will be 12 weapon quests so that's a start.

It could have been an interesting way of distributing Exotics in Destiny 2 if they came up with fun and lengthy questlines for each and every Exotic in the game that told a backstory (lore) of sorts for each one. I mean given how they seemingly want everyone to have everything/not be left behind/have an equal chance, etc this seems a lot more rewarding and, well, fun than running a 1000+ borefests known as the Public Events.

The weapon quests are a start but I'm really looking for more daily/weekly activities that offer replayability with real rewards. Not one and dones.
