Given the zoom in the shot, the shakiness, and the general framing, my assumption is that within the context of the movie it's video footage, not a straight up "flashback". So that may give a clue as to how they'll work this shot in, unless Bayona and co. are going a very different stylistic direction for this movie, lol.

Movie opens with a court case right? Maybe some sort of video documentation being presented in support of the animals or something?

We've never had flashbacks in a Jurassic film so that sucks if it's indeed a flashback which makes the most sense.

The camera movement and the zoom looks to me like its something from a camcorder or a phone.

I think its going to be a scene where Chris Pratt mourns over his lost Raptor babys, sitting at home, eating ice cream and crying, while watching homevideos of him with the Babys.
Then he gets the phone call to save THE LOST KINGDOM

Yes? lol, look at it. That's not a dig at it, it's just very clearly CGI. Lighting, composition, materials, the range of fine movements, etc.. And while it's also made to *look* like it was shot with a small handheld camera, it wasn't.

I met Bayona a few days ago in London and asked him about JW2. He just smirked.

This exact issue made me aware of this mag and was my reading material while I took a family trip with my grandmother to visit family out of state. Also came home with a raptor figure and burger king watch. It was during the height of TLWs "reign" at the BO or lead up to it at least.

This is gonna be killer.

I don't have anywhere to upload pictures to, but Iron Studios is now teasing the side of the Rex being painted with a video on both Instagram and Facebook, ahead of the full reveal next week.

Seeing that McDonald's has a Jurassic Park toy in December, man it has me praying them or Burger King does a big promotion for Fallen Kingdom for nostalgia at the very least.
(as weird as it is honestly kinda miss them doing it for a lot of stuff these days)

I missed the news on this and looked it up. Not a fan of the toy, but the train set is very nostalgic of Happy Meal toy sets from the 90s.

Yeah,
the big takeaway imo is that Universal is still open to it(unlike Disney with their properties) and are coming off the massive success of JW so I doubt it will be a little thing like Dairy Queen again.

Happy for the baryonyx fans, but personally I just don't see the appeal. To me, it, suchomimus and spinosaurus were always a bit too similar to get excited about one if you had the other (although the spinosaurus has changed dramatically in the past few years). But Carnotaurus is in, right?
