The Trex especially fixes that box art a lot.
The thing is these re-releases aren't for us or the average movie guy, they're more for the impulse buyer at the store and these horrible covers, like the spider-man or more recent Star Wars ones get people's attention. The people who wanted "classier" versions already had their chance years ago, this is going for a parent or kid walking through the store and noticing the cover and asking for it.
The previous re-releases were not much better either also having some new logo instead of the originals and nothing really there. What sucks even more though is that for a few years now the T-Rex in Jurassic Park ///'s logo has been replaced with the normal logo. I know the fandom has a lot of controversy with the Spino but come on, replacing a unique logo for a generic one is not the way to go.
What really sucks about these re-releases is that these are likely what they're releasing to cash-in on Jurassic World 2. So no JP 25th anniversary movie is likely now, and looks like the best "set" to get right now is the JP Collection release that came out alongside JW, and that likely will be it until they release a 6 movie set after JW3.

It doesn't really matter who they're for though, shitty asset management is still inexcusable.
They could have easily made these covers with an actual female Rex head and a Tyrannosaur without three fingers. Not saying everything needs to be a work of MONDO style art, but damn, they need to do better.
The JP3 one is a good example of it being done with the right assets at least.
When I film companies going to realize that we want the original posters? I know that they're trying to make those new covers to attract "filthy normies" but you would think the average viewer would remember an old cover more than a new cover.

I'm not saying it's not inexcusable but the person doing that job likely doesn't care and since it looks good enough and it pops out it passed through the filters and made it out. When they make actual collectors editions or that's their main demographic they do put a lot more thought into it and these things are less likely to happen.

Sweet Jeebus, yeah, those are bad, lol. Also, who the hell chose those two set pieces for the covers of TLW and JPIII? Like... now that the Spino is out of the logo, you're not gonna have it on the art at all? Plus, fucking Billy as the cover character? lol, 'kay. And the Stego scene choice is just... weird, IMO.
Here's hoping the 25th anniversary set looks slick. If not though, we'll probably continue to get new boxes yearly until the end of time, because apparently why not, so one of them is bound to be good, lol.

That's just painful to watch. I have spent a bit, not a ton, but enough time doing visual/graphic design to not understand how someone can do such a shitty job and think it's okay. Even if I was told specifically to make covers like those, I would put more pride in my work (and in the franchise) to make something far, far better.

Beyond the horrid composition and logos, these have a lot of issues. The T.rex has the males head, it has a thumb, grant isn't looking at it, and has a whole lot of other issues. The Stegosaurs are HUGE, ugly, and from Jurassic World. Billy is morphing into Nicholas Cage.

I have that version. Even though I already owned them on DVD and the DVDs are literally the exact same ones from the original releases, that all in one pack with a beautiful fold out cover was tempting.
And I just realize I don't have them on Blu-ray .
My Son (Nearly 2) is huge on dinosaurs and dragons at the moment (we've watched Pete's Dragons countless times). Any toddler friendly dino/dragon movies, cartoons, videos would be great. Or even toys/books for Christmas.
I wonder how easy it is to get movies from Moonbeam Ent. I used to watch Prehysteria! 1-3 and Dragon World (and Pet Shop) as a little kid. I don't think they ever went past VHS though, but perfect for small kids! (Surely others here are familiar with the company). They're animatronic!!

Seriously though, everyone has recommended all the good dinosaur stuff for young children. The only one not recommended is You Are Umasou, but that's an anime with no dub. If it was dubbed, it would be an amazing movie for your kid. I guess I could recommend Prehistoric Park. It's scientific, but also has a lighter tone compared to Walking With Dinosaurs (TV series, not the movie). Dinosaur Revolution might be a bit too violent for his age.

I remember finding them at my local video rental place, back when "family" was a movie genre (aka, not cartoons, but still good for kids). There was a selection of some pretty niche 90s movies there, so I had an interesting selection to chose from. I think I also rented Baby: The Lost Legend that had the animatronic Apatasaurus on the cover.
Just don't forget that Moonbeam Ent. was sort of a B-movie company for kids, so go in with expectations of a cheesy kids movie :p I'd be down to checking out the first one again sometime for funsies/nostalgia (2 and 3 are basically "dinosaurs meet a rich kid that likes trains" and "dinosaurs meet a girl who plays golf"). Animatronics were decent though.
Has anyone seen Dino King? It's a movie from South Korea that's on Netflix right now. I remember liking it.

I did, I don't remember it very well but it was not very memorable besides a few scenes here and there. But if you like dinosaurs enough to post here those few scenes are probably enough to make it worth a watch.
There's also Dinosaur King, which the anime is awesome, it has all the original voice actors of Pokemon in similar roles and it makes it nostalgic. The show is different from normal Pokemon clones, the story is nothing to write home about but it's tongue in cheek which makes it a lot of fun and a must watch. It actually uses a lot of Dinosaurs that don't usually get the spotlight often and I personally love the techno colors they gave them. Series 2 is not as good but it's alright. So yeah imagine Pokemon mixed with dinosaurs and somehow it's more than just a bad clone.
