OMG, I was just browsing Dangen's site and it turns out Astalon is confirmed for Switch! YES! I hope Matt Kapp can also bring Castle in the Darkness to Switch at some point too, either through Dangen or original publisher Nicalis.

And speaking of Dangen, I also noticed Renaine has a Switch port coming and looks ace too. Spritework and palette reminds me a lot of Shovel Knight.

Does anyone have any opinions on Combat Core? Only reviews I can find for it are from before the game released in 2016. Looks like a fun style of local multiplayer casual that I don't have on my system yet.

Excited for YIIK today. I'm also very curious about Feudal Alloy, the potato FTL-looking game, and the Gunman Clive collection. I've also heard good things about Octahedron.

That's great news. Castle in the Darkness is great and Astalon looks super good. Both games seem to take inspiration from Maze of Galious which is more than alright with me -- La-Mulana is my favorite game ever after all. I've never seen Renaine before but I'm totally into it. It has a great visual style.

Octahedron is absolutely wonderful. I've played through the first two worlds now (skipping all the different medals for the time being) and every level has been different from the last. My enjoyment curve has been going up steadily with each level. I'm really curious to see what the rest of the game has to offer.

I somehow got sucked back in to Hollow Knight but I guess it is a good palette cleanser between finishing Bayonetta and starting Bayonetta 2.

What does y'alls Eshop wishlist look like? I went though and updated mine last night:

Dark Souls
Dead Cells
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
Tales of Vesperia
Mummy Demastered
Guacamelee 2

Any word on Blossom Tales? I'm thinking about it

It's an ok Zelda clone. It didn't light my world on fire or feel like it filled a void, but it has a decent narrative template and occasionally it will remind you that LttP existed. Though it does feel a bit more rigid and linear and more often than not very different than the game it's clearly inspired by.

Cool to hear that.
Really dig the platform challenge and love that soundtrack from what i saw from the demo.
I per-ordered it after playing the demo but will only be able to play it after work today.

Is someone willing to bite the bullet on Fairy Fencer to get some impressions?
There's already some video of the hour or so of the switch version. I know it's not a super impression but it can help to show you how the game runs.

It's very cute but pretty average imho. It looks like Zelda 3, but the action gameplay is less refined, and it lacks exploration (and a feeling of adventure) and various puzzles to complete the formulae. I haven't played it more than a couple of hours before I quit, a little bored.
In the same genre, Ittle Dew 2+ is a little better but it's still lacking most of the same key elements (although there are a lot of Sokoban-like puzzles) and it is passable in the end imho, although it kept me interrested and I played it a little longer.
If you're in the mood for a classic Zelda-like I'd rather recommend the greatest one : the masterpiece Landstalker, which is playable in the Mega Drive (Genesis) Collection (and I'm no Sega fan ;-).

Anyone getting The Shrouded Isle? It looks fun, but I'm not sure how much replay value there is after the first 5hrs of attempts. Does it hold up for many many retries?

Also, I remember reading this somewhere but figure I'd confirm here. Is it true that if you already own Bayonetta 1 or 2, the discount you get on the other game overrides any sale that may come up? IE I should just buy the one I don't have as it won't ever get cheaper?

Huh. What about the game in particular did you enjoy? It's hard to judge what exactly it's like based on the screenshots.

I just loved everything about it, the environment was fun to explore. The story telling though NPCs was great, I like having to find obscure items to give to NPCs too.

The art style and characters I love too. Controls are tight.

I just beat Kuso. 45 minutes, 302 deaths ^_^

Definitely worth the single dollar I paid for it. It's a very challenging and intense game, and I think being short is a plus because the game ends when it's starting to drive you insane ^_^

Sleep Deprivation Zone
So after the Taiwan rating popped up last week, the Game Freak-developed Giga Wrecker Alt. has now officially been confirmed for Switch and other platforms, and is "coming soon":

"Giga Wrecker Alt. is a mixture of exploration and physics. Bring down towering walls and then use the rubble as a platform for navigating each level. Mechanical skill and creative problem solving will be tested.

Giga Wrecker was brought to life through Game Freak's internal "Gear Project" where its developers are encouraged to come up with intriguing ideas for games outside the company's normal. The game also features music by video game composer, Shinij Hosoe, known for Ridge Racer and Tekken, among many other titles."

Thanks for the heads up on Gunman Clive. Forgot that was out this week, I loved the first game but never got the second one. And I love my Switch so thiis is the perfect fit! I'll probably pass on Cursed Castilla though, I own it twice already, but its an absolutely amazing game. Reminds me that I really should give Battle Princess Madeline a try sometime.

Anyone else on the fence over No More Heroes? I loved the first game, but the divisive reviews and lacklustre looking gameplay have me wondering if I should wait for now...

I somehow got sucked back in to Hollow Knight but I guess it is a good palette cleanser between finishing Bayonetta and starting Bayonetta 2.

What does y'alls Eshop wishlist look like? I went though and updated mine last night:

Dark Souls
Dead Cells
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
Tales of Vesperia
Mummy Demastered
Guacamelee 2
My wishlist at the moment:

Hyper Light Drifter
Dead Cells
Moonlighter
Momodora

Going to get download one tonight, think I'm gonna get Hyper Light Drifter or Dead Cells first. I heard Moonlighter is kind of buggy and shallow, anyone have any experience with it?

I've been waiting to play this on a Nintendo console for years. This is very exciting. I played it on PC (never finished just because I don't like gaming on a computer) and I can guarantee fans of the genre, this game is legit and criminally overlooked. Hopefully console releases will provide the attention it deserves.

Oh yeah, Odallus is great!
