Japan is not too hot on shooters, but more importantly, they are not very into PC games. CSGO being a PC exclusive vastly reduces its presence in Japan.
you said that when the best selling and the first million seller on the switch right now is a shooter :P
.............. mario also rely on precise input though. And Cacpcom dont need to use their own Ip actually. They just need to launch a successful mobile game which till now they have shown to be damn incapable at all.

Breath of Fire should be an easy game to be made mobile there. You see what Capcom did with BoF 6 there?

Megaman also should not be that hard. What we get is Xover lol.

Cacpcom simply is just so incompetent in mobile front if u ask me.
seriously,a battle chip challenge mobile game with chips and navi gachas would print them money

Yeah, that's right. We know from SteamSpy that there's >300k PUBG owners in Japan, and if that game has similar success in the Japanese PC community as worldwide, I think we know what we can expect from that market. 300k is pretty small. COD used to exceed that number year after year, and now it's still is the ~300k range on PS4. I think that puts some perspective to it.

What they need to do is make those guns shoot paint and have two soldiers become pop idols.
Yeah, that'd be a great idea! I bet such a game could even sell consoles!

Mario needs one button: jump. DMC or SF or MH will need a lot more than that.

Yeah, it's pretty surprising that they didn't try to convert the Exe series to mobile. I could see that working well there if they did it with some care.

battle chip challenge IS the money making mobile formula, building a good deck for yourself, navi gachas, competing with other players, leveling to expanding the storages and and navi's hp/atk/Acc.It would make a much more attractive gacha game than fire emblem heroes and pocket camp lol

MH only need swipe like Shironeko.

DMC also the same.
BoF is normal Jrpg.

Stop acting like there is no other way when there is tons of mobile game able to cope with complex control like Moba.
How exactly? How many action mobile games are there? Moba works because it was mouse/keyboard originally. You can easily implement something similar to mouse on mobile via touch screen. How do you implement those DMC combos?

Also, let's not pretend BoF is some big franchise. It was dead since BoFV came out. BoFVI was just the tombstone.

Thats the job for Cacpcom to think of. If a game like Shinobi Knight can find a way to implement combo in their mobile game then, there is no reason for Cacpcom to said it is impossible unless they are incompetent.

BoF is as small as Valkyria or Star Ocean as an Ip.

Both those two right now is bringing moderate amount of profit for S-E while BoF is bringing shame toward Cacpcom. See the difference here?

They could go and look at what Platinum Games did with Bayonetta 2 for Wii U having touchscreen only controls for playing the game.

Same way you can have Bayonetta 2 completely done by touchscreen. Though there are some combo-centric character action touchscreen mobile games like Implosion: Never Use Hope that manage it also https://youtu.be/NxUt7LXhIeQ?t=1m41s

No it's not. SO3 and 4 both sold over a million WW, Dragon Quarter sold a scrap of that.

Also, Capcom do have DMC on mobile, it's playable, but who's gonna play a mobile DMC when there's a proper one you can play on console? FF and DQ work on mobile because they offer something different from the console titles. These DMC and MH are just dumbed down console games.

We are talking about mobile market in japan.

BoF last title sold 140k while SO4 sold 200k and this not counting how bad SOV did. I dont see much difference there especially with the states of both IP.

Thats why Cacpcom had no idea on making mobile games. It is their job to think of a method to make their IP works. Thats why they invest all those money to mobile division. Again, we had seen Shironeko Project doing really well. Shinobi Night mobile action game also exist.

I dont see why other company can succeed on mobile while Cacpcom cant should be excused for their incompetent.

You can essentially say that about many mobile games based on a console IP, except for the fact that a lot of them get better revenue than Capcom apps.

This here is also a dumbed down game from Fire Emblem and it sure is bringing crazy dough for Ninty here. Wonder why this one is successful while one on Cacpcom is failing?

Those expecting major Switch news from that event are probably in for a rude awakening. This is most likely a hands on western equivalent to their Jump Festa lineup. They've done that in years past.

Day 3, the beta just ended. Let's see how MHW is ranking around the world on amazon:

Japan: 1 +0
US: 69 +0
UK: *Not in top 100*
Germany: 67 -21
France: *Not in top 100*
Spain: *Not in top 100*
Italy: 84 -8
Canada: 27 +7

Series history:

December 10th: https://www.resetera.com/posts/1951376/
Three days have passed since our last check, so let's see how MHW is ranking around the world on amazon:

Japan: 1 +0
US: *Not in top 100*
UK: *Not in top 100*
Germany: *Not in top 100*
France: *Not in top 100*
Spain: *Not in top 100*
Italy: *Not in top 100*
Canada: 58 -31

I doubt we will see it back in many charts during December, so this series will probably become interesting again when the new year arrives.

The Switch only needs 242k to be over the 3m mark on Famitsu. So there is a chance that we'll get an early report next week.

I was expecting MHW to generate more preorders in US. Ok, it's Christmas, so bestseller rankings contain a lot of released titles, but still.

Went back to my local Tsutaya (Tokyo, Machiya)

Xenoblade 2, Resident Evil Revelations Collection and Snipperclips are out of stock
Super Mario Odyssey back in stock with plenty of copies

On the 3DS front two random things : Dragon Quest XI is out of stock and Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2 is at 20% still struggling to sell its first shipment most likely

Others "not so old" titles being discounted includes : Gundam VS, Akiba's Beat, World of Final Fantasy, Musou Stars, Yakuza 6, Super Robot Taisen V, Super Robot Taisen OG, Punchline and Project Diva X on PS4
On 3DS Powapro Heroes, Etrian Odyssey Mystery Dungeon 2 and P&D Mario Bros

Bigger bomba (50% price drop) includes latest Idolm@ster PS4, the next one releasing soon will probably have dreadful sales

Biggest bomba (80%) on current platforms include Black Rose Valkyrie, Exist Archive on PS4, Gundam Extreme VS Force on PSV, Theatrythm Dragon Quest and Lord of Magna on 3DS

I also went to my local Geo, nothing out of stock, besides the Switch itself that is

There was Indeed a general big Switch restock today but since it's holiday period systems didn't stay on shelves more than a few hours. So far this week is better than previous and can become way better if there are similar restocks at weekend.

Big shift at buying audience since it's now the first priority for families too taking 3DS place. Evergreen mainstream titles for it will see a big boost next weeks.

Super Famicom Mini supply is at much better situation, US and Japan have reversed roles for the availability of each.

It's one of the few times new year's shopping period can have a Nintendo and not a Sony system as no.1 target among older demographics.

Yo-kai Watch Busters 2 is coming tomorrow. Thursday sales of new titles were anemic and this is the last chance for retailers this year to have a software launch that can generate some hype. Expectations for it aren't very high, the new movie could help.

Dragon Quest Rivals managed to make it in the top 10 grossing titles during its debut month.

japannov1hqp7v.png

The market has also diversified to the point where Puzzle & Dragons coming in at #4 only gets Gung-Ho to #9 on the publisher list. Namco is also earning more than Fate/Grand Order when you combine their games together. Similarly, Lineage at #3 only gets Netmarble to #8. It used to be that having a top title could land you a top publisher spot even in the #3/#4 spots.

Oh wow didn't know Lineage was doing so well in JP, too.

And it seems like AC:PC didn't do that well in its best market.

can create a surprise, very good pre-orders for now.

Speaking of Lineage,Is the community of the game still big in Korea?
To be honest most Im@s fans hated Platinum Stars, so it's actually good.

Hopefully Bamco learns their lessons and move away from stupid rhythm game and return to the og style.
Or make a mobile crossover between Idolm@ster and Pacman
Idk how that would work :P

I can't remember if it's been discussed but I saw a snippet from an interview with Koizumi quite recently where he said in Japan Switch was selling a lot in the teen/young adult demographic which is a demographic Nintendo has struggled to appeal to recently.

I'll see if I can find the source when I'm not on mobile.
