I guess it's nice they keep fixing bugs and add small stuff like the new armor. but it's sad they did not fix the stats transparency and general balance problems which does not seem like a huge effort to me but would massively improve the game. here's hoping to a big final patch.

Female body parts now behave correctly during dialogs.

I thought the weird booby wobble during dialogue was strange.

30 dollars on wingamestore (not MS one) means I bought it today. Looking forward to it, although I will wait for few more patches.

How do I get started in the game? I can't find many quests in the first town and when I leave I get murdered by enemies?

There is a quest line related to joining the berserkers that is pretty straightforward and helps you progress a bit. Main thing at the beginning of the game is to just avoid and run away from enemies, going right at it won't end well until you've got some levels behind you

Is there point where they'll tell you you're about to join the berserkers.

I just got enough strength to equip The Mortal Beam that I stumbled across....holy moly, watch out evil doers of Magdalan, there's a new sheriff in town! And I thought my grenades and skillups were heavy duty!

If you progress with the berserker companion for a few quests I think it opens up. You can also make a run for one of the other cities, they have similar low level quests. If you do the faction quests, don't finish them to completion unless that's the faction you want to move in with their quest line

Just finished at 40hrs20min with the 'good' ending apparently.

Fun times, had a great time playing this through. Certainly some areas that could have been polished more, but great fun none the less.

I think the combat is pretty clunky and poorly designed, but in a number of aspects, this feels like the closest thing to Fallout: New Vegas I've played since Fallout: New Vegas.

I've officially put the game in my GOTY list in the voting thread.
I can't lie -- I love that this is one of the very first gaming-side ResetEra threads.

So much so that I just stealth-fixed the grammar in the title.

Bought it from Steam since I got wallet money gifted. Are magic-like build viable in this? Excited to start it later tonight when I'm back.

magic in general is pretty weak and also looks really, really bad

there is one spell, though, that is game breakingly devastating, black hole from the Clerics. as soon as you get that one you will be literally invincible, super strong AOE damage that also stuns enemies shortly for very little psi power cost.

Got an email from gmg for 25% off so picked up this game for $25.

Anyone got any tips for things that you wish you knew when you started playing?

I feel like I've done everything in the Berzerker home zone but I'm still sooo weak, I found the clerics and became an initiate but can't proceed because everyone kicks my ass.

Am I missing something? Maybe an area with more quests?

I want this but I don't want to pay more than £20 for it, because I think there's a good chance I won't enjoy it, and £35 (current price on PSN) is a lot to pay.

Found some outlaw merchant as part of a different quest, would the outlaws have quests my level?

Any of the factions should have entry-level quests.

Other than that, if you can't seem to progress: Use a companion. Or try to be creative. Lure monsters you can't beat into other groups of monsters or NPCs. Use grenades, they can deal a lot of damage. Or avoid fighting altogether by just sneaking into areas you have to obtain an item from (some monsters are asleep at night..), or by just running/jetpacking away.

I have a companion but he doesn't trigger on my starter cleric quest so I get wrecked :/

I've been avoiding fights but I need quests lol

The progression that was suggested to me was do everything in Edan that you can, then the domed city/abessa, then the fort/tavar(?), then finally the hort/ignadon. You can probably skip around and do some low level quests, but Ignadon will fuck you up from what i saw if you are low level. Though keep in mind some areas even in Edan will mess you up until you get better gear. As was suggested you will have to get creative sometimes and in my experience if all else fails running and screaming like a little girl past everything sometimes works.

Are there any mods to make the protagonist not be so boring looking? In the gameplay videos I saw months ago it was a boring shaved head bald white guy. :/

- Weather and lighting improvements

I am not sure, if I'd call that an improvement. There is a side by side comparison in this video: https://youtu.be/QOWccgEhQNQ
Don't get me wrong, I think it's good that they removed some of the fog, but I think they went a bit overboard. Or is it just a different time of day / weather in the video?
What about that blinding effect when you move from indoors to outdoors? Is that affected by the patch?

I'd never heard of this game before reading this thread. The game looks really interesting, I want to get it and I feel bad about this because devs deserve to get paid but I need to wait for a deeper sale. Just don't have the money. But it's gone on the Steam and PSN wishlists and I'll pick it up at some point in the future.

The Steam version is £21.99 on cdkeys at the moment.

Though personally I'm waiting for it to drop a little cheaper as I'm still unsure on it, plus I've got other things at the forefront right now anyway. If it drops to around £15 I'll probably jump in though.

Are there any kind of romance options in the game with all of the dialogue choices? I'm always a sucker for romance in choice driven RPGs.

There are 2 female companions and you can romance both.

The romances aren't the main selling point of the game (like with BioWare) and more feel like an extra addition like in Fallout 4. They're pretty bad, in a funny way.

Not terribly far in but the exploration is actually enjoyable unlike the majority of open world games I've been playing over the last couple years.
