Do you really think they're going to investigate your incident?

That's just been the Xbox meta though. Lack of fights in the early game leading to shit show circles towards the end.

This probably has a TON to due with no aim assist........people don't want to expose themselves early if they don't have to because aiming is a bitch with a controller and no assist. I can tell some folks are using the keyboard/mouse adapter......not many, but you can clearly tell when they are using one.

My crew had the worst bug ever 2 nights ago, but apparently it's happened to a few others.

So it's down to 7 of us (3 left on my team) and it's ending in the tunnels area near Gatka. We kill a team of 2 so there are 2 other players left, but we are forced out of the tunnel area into the open fields. Just as this happens by chance that darn Hypezone on Mixer hosts us so we gain like 300 viewers for the next to happen...

We kill a player by the tree which put's it a 4 players, including the 3 of us. It's at the final circle where it sits for 5ish minutes before closing in and killing everyone. It's in a wide open field with just a few bushes. THERE IS NO OTHER PLAYER. We grided the entire thing, no one was proning, no one was in a bush there was 100% no other player with us. The final circle that kills you before you can even use a first aid finally closed in, killed all 3 of us and we got 2nd. The only thing we can think of is he might have been glitched under the world somewhere possibly.

Saw a thread on the official forums where soneone linked a video of how you can cheat to win while on the starting island, so yeah, it's a thing unfortunately.

Exactly, we will see a team across the road and know if we open up on them there is a big chance we'll die first. Has happened too many times so now we either let them go and continue to scavenge or try to get closer

I almost never fire because I cant hit anyone in this game on a controller lol

My only chicken dinner has 2 kills. Which were the last 2 guys. I think I have a total of like 10 kills across 20+ games played

What happened since Tuesday? That's when I played it last and there were no issues.

Now I have several odd issues. Once after Booting the game I got a white screen and nothing else except the music. And just now after a match I heard the music but the character screen wouldn't show up at all.

I need to be more patient at the start of games lol. This time I jumped into a building and got stuck in the bathroom sink once everything loaded.

My squad left me with a shotgun and 12 rounds to defend myself.

Getting decently better at close in combat after tweaking the settings to high heaven. Tried 0 Aim Assist, 10 Aim Assist, neither felt right, even with tweaking everything else.

Ended up settling on 7 Aim Assist and like 4 for general, and then down to 3 and 2 for the rest of the stats. Not perfect but I'm doing better in house engagements and not swinging around wildly. Still suck at range though. I need more practice, but I always eschew a 2x or 4x for a Red Dot since I'm better with it.

Does anyone have a good mapping combo for leaning? I never lean and feel like I need to get use to doing it.

Had two weird driving incidents last night.. #1 our squad was in a jeep and rammed a motorcycle, it spun over the jeep and somehow knocked out and killed the person in the passenger seat. #2 a buggy rammed our jeep and knocked out the passenger again.

Is this normal? I don't remember that happening before. It seemed random as no one else in the car even took any damage.

They need to adjust vehicle to vehicle damage. Specifically the motorcycles.

I was in a jeep and hit a guy on a motorcycle multiple times at decent speed. He should have been knocked off at the very least.

thats not sales though.......interesting

No, but we had this debate last time they said 1 million players and then it was later confirmed to be over 1 million in sales.

There will always be some returns or game sharing people, but it's most likely still very close to 3 million since this is a pure digital title.

With physical copies technically existing I wonder if they don't have a fully accurate list of copies sold? Its just a code in a box so they should be able to see codes redeemed.. and unique players.. It's also through 11 days ago, so who knows.

I can't imagine game share/multiple accounts per Xbox would constitute very many players in the grand scheme of things considering its digital only, no disk passing around or resale.

Would those be factored into players? I guess if it's historical-looking?

I got a one x Scorpio for xmas from the wife. Ms granted me a code via chat. Played a few games. Was not feeling it at all. I'm ok with the graphix being low tier but the controls aren't great either. Any tips to help this old man get into the game?

Doing alot better in duos now.

The best tip I can give anyone is that if you have a situation where you can kill someone then you really need to think if it's it worth it or not. Even if you do kill them theres a very high chance that nearby players will have heard the noise and be on their way to you.

90% of our top 5 finishes are because we have seen other players and hid from them or let them pass without being noticed. Even when we've had the drop on them. Your position being unknown is worth more than any loot an enemy can drop.

So 3v1 at the last circle and the guy is no where to be found. Like its just a tiny hill. Us 3 die since after like 10 mins the hill fully closes in and it kills us 3.... Second place WTF

If you have a Elite controller put leaning on the two shorter paddles. Just got my first Solo Chicken Dinner and leaning around the tree I was using for cover was clutch.

Also yea I ended up tweaking sensitivity for all levels of zoom to finally feel confident in my shooting(got 7 kills).

Ive had this happen to me in Solo and in duos. I've also spoke to a friend last night who had it happen to him.

I think this is a exploit that will happen more and more once people start looking up how its done.

The worst part about it, is that you can't report the players that are doing it becuase you don't know who they are!

Edit: played a few games today. Every game I died to someone who sacrificed themselves to kill me. First game was a guy who was camping behind a rock. I was out of ammo and he fired on me everytime I came out from behind my tree, circle came in and took us both. The other games were very similar apart from one where a guy chased me out of a house while the red circle was right on us, I only had the double barrel with one bullet left so I ran out in the open and the fool followed me while unleashing a plethora of bullets on me. He took me down them got hit by one of the bombs while looting me.

Yep, this game is about to become unwinnable here soon. Every match I played last night, I saw people attempting the under the map glitch. Not sure if anyone succeeded as I didn't make it to the final circle in any of those matches.

There's a lot of glitching unfortunately. I had 2 chicken dinners in the first two days, but since people started abusing the game's shortcomings and downright glitch/hack it's been a neverending series of #2 and #3s really. Too bad.

I don't think I've had a loss come down to a glitch yet in my time playing, anytime I've gotten #2 or #3 I have been in a firefight with the person who won/got #2. But, I'm sure I'll be seeing this glitch a lot when I play tonight.

This is a thing?

Hmm. The last two times I've played I've gotten to the final circle and died both times without seeing a single person firing at me.

Might be a coincidence of course, but who knows now?

Anyone doing the glitch wouldn't have a gun as it's done at the beginning of the game, so probably a coincidence. They just kinda chill under the map and wait shit out.

I've seen pretty weird stuff. Once me and another dude duked it out but it seemed like no one else was in the final circle or anywhere near. He died, I died soon after because the circle glitched (it stopped then instantly moved again), but the dude was nowhere, and it was not the tunnel area either (that was in another match as I didn't realize the exact location). There are definitely bad things happening unfortunately.

Yeah, the lack of aim assist in this game basically means I avoid a ton of potential conflict until I absolutely have to because attempting any kind of mid/long range combat usually just results in exposing my position and not getting anything from it.

On the flipside, the lack of aim assist in the console version also means you have a little more freedom to move around especially in the early game

Lack of aim assist is actually great. Rubberbanding, hit detection issues and framerate dips make it hard to commit to firefights unless you are 100% sure of what you're doing. There's matches where I get a lot of "easy" kills, in others I just spray enemies and barely anything happens due to the jank. Don't want to risk it anymore tbh, too much of a lottery.

For my taste, I actually really enjoy the game without aim assist. It makes shooting so much more deliberate all around, it's a moderating factor for long-range suppression (unless you have the proper scope/siting, as it should be), and it makes panic/surprise a bigger factor in face-offs. I like that this feels different from so many other shooters, even understanding that it makes it more challenging.

I dont at all. Its not fun to struggle putting your aim on someone and getting killed because of it. The controls should be tight on a console. I refuse to give them a pass because of this and im also not playing the game until the controls feel smooth.

I don't know why anyone engages at longer distances to be honest. Keep track of the guy, but don't expose your position unless you're just about to move because of the circle. At distance you can't loot them immediately, so there's no benefit that way. Plus you've just exposed your position to anyone else close by that you HAVEN'T seen yet, so going to loot is going to be a risk. I've been killed more times after killing someone and moving out of cover to loot than I can count, so I stopped. Unless I have a suppressor, I close the distance and then take them out. You'd be surprised how many times sitting quietly for a couple seconds to watch someone who's running around like a lunatic will get you additional kills as you spot people who are moving up on them, or who open fire on them from range and let you move into position on them.

That's actually a good point, the rubberbanding and spotty hit detection are probably bigger factors than the lack of aim assist

I'm not fundementally opposed to it, I just like how it plays currently. They could have a setup similar to first-person vs third-person lobbies where there's just the option at the match level for assisted vs raw aiming.

Played a game yesterday night in solos and I killed 3 guys who tried to kill me from distance. Everyone of them could have easily survived as I had no idea I was being watched and they could have just gone in the opposite direction without being noticed.

The skill level is going up, but there are still people that are playing this wrong and try to kill on sight. I do wonder if anyone has any success from killing everyone they see. All my chicken dinners have come from cowardly behaviour.

Something I've been meaning to ask; does choice of footwear actually make a difference in terms of how much noise you make?

No shoes better than shoes?

I've seen the audio tests that show it's quieter, but in practice it's not a big enough difference to save you. If you're running around barefoot someone nearby is still going to hear you.

That said, when playing duo or squad we will run without shoes so our footsteps sound different. It helps to separate out us from the enemies, at least a bit.

I love the lack of aim assist. The worst thing that could happen to this game is for it to become bogged in long distance encounters. If everyone could hit you from miles away then it just makes the first three quarters of the game much more frustrating. Much harder to move and loot. If you don't find good guns to begin with then you are much more likely to get shot while running between houses or cover.

As has been mentioned, I've got my best results by not engaging unless I'm certain of victory or have to. The risks are just too high in each encounter. Saying that I'm sure there are more aggressive players who do well. The ability to adapt your play on the fly is one of the games great features.

In my opinion the best way to make it to the top 20 or top 10 is to keep your head down, avoid confrontation as much as possible, and let all of the more aggressive people get weeded out first.

And yeah, after thinking about it more, the lack of aim assist in the XB1 version makes the game better
