Yeah at a certain point this game is clearly a dead end. Make no mistake it's a great game, 80 hours or so it's been a wild ride. But when you get to the point where it's "uh just kill stronger versions of these same dragons" I think I'm done.

Earlier I said I would beat that damn Tempered Kirin and I did just that. No help. Just me, him, a worthless palico, and a long sword. Kirin truly is the boss of the game.

Is this game really as good as people are saying about getting mew players in? I really wanted to like MH4 and put a good amount of hours into it, but I couldn't break the feeling of not knowing wtf I was doing

It still makes me laugh every time I do it. Chasing a poor limping Nerg with 1000 sprinting Lance Dash pokes cracks me up. Same with dashing into downed monsters and just racking up hits because the game won't allow you to pass through them.

Lance is really weird, it's one of the slowest weapon mobility-wise on paper (which I imagine turns a lot of people off trying the weapon), but if used correctly it's one of the most mobile weapon, you don't even need to sheathe your weapon the entire fight unless for healing.

Vaal is officially my worst enemy of MHW. Seriously, fuck his spew diseases. >:|

Vaal actually the only Elder Dragons that managed to cart me, thanks to the HP-halving breath (even with Health Boost 3 skill) and the beam. Anyway learned that Effluvia Resistance skill basically nullify his HP-halving abilities.

The biggest problem I have with the end-game is that they're forcing you to farm Elder Dragons so that you can upgrade/minmax your equipment for...the same Elder Dragons you've been beating over and over again.

Figured. And you also can stop his beam with a flash pod, but unfortunately you have to be in a perfect timing to take a shot at his mouth or face. :\ (Tried it on his back and it didn't work, only sometimes he starts dizziness and that's about it.)

yeah not a fan of Vaal, very cheap fight. It's like fighting a great jagras with a bigger hp and cheap gimmicks.

I assume you folks aren't using the Miasma decorations? They are common. I wear three of them and it's easy-mode. The hardest part about the fight is fending off those little wyverns just outside.

I am new to the series. I tried 3 Ultimate on the Wii U and gave up after a day. This game is nothing like the old games from my perspective. 200 hours later and it's still fun.

I spent yesterday making 20 different gear loadouts so I don't have to keep moving my jewels around anymore, and Kirin is the only build VASTLY different from the other builds. I stack Thunder Res so fucking hard for that fight.

72 hours in, I think I'm putting the game to the side for now. I definitely got my money's worth and the ride was enjoyable with all of you, I just don't have that carrot-on-stick anymore that kept me gripped during the main story.

Yeah same here. Farming stronger elder dragons to make armor to farm them more doesn't motivate me. Neither does crown farming.

There's a lot of optional stuff to do, as well as tons of gear I can still grind out, but I just don't feel like I need to do it to get stronger. I don't know nearly enough about Monster Hunter to even go about suggesting changes/improvements, as I assume this is how the game has always been but with a larger monster count.

A big bummer for me, ever since LR, was that I didn't see myself needing to craft all kinds of armor like I thought I would. Throughout all 72 hours, I have only crafted 3 sets of armor and 4 weapons, and I really haven't had issues the whole time. I went in thinking, "Ooh fire resistance, this will be useful" or "Oooh thunder weapon, this will help a ton!" But nope, just strolled through with a plain ol' hammer upgraded down the Nergi path that only has Elderseal and raw damage to it.

Same. I threw affinity, attack boost, critboost out the window In favor of a pure defense and thunder resist loadout. Something has to make this fight easier...

I was too busy using Nulberries when the beams came :(

But yeah, outside his HP-halving breath, he is basically sponge compared to Kushi/Teo/Nergi, his attack are slow and telegraphed, and his weakpoint are easy to hit.

Awesome monster concept and design-wise though.

I'm HR 55 I think and I still just find the game fun. Fighting monsters is really fun. Especially with friends. I'm working towards desired armor sets per weapon and such but that's really just a bonus for me. Don't need a carrot on a stick... I'll play until I fight monsters and am bored

Damn Nergi's tail drop is abysmal, broken it over 10 times and nothing but I've gotten 3 gems so far. I just want two damn Tails Nergi stop holding out.

Guard Lvl 4, Artillery and Capacity Boost make me feel like an unstoppable wall with Charge Blade. Ran through Tempered Diablos + Black Diablos like they were fucking butter.

At HR 49 now and have to beat that damn Kirin. Tried with some help but there was always one that died. I was a bit late so postponed that fight for now.

Feel I have most stuff right now and no need of much other than a lot of Xeno horns to get last level of some weapons and armor. But I find that fight pretty boring. But started playing around with Switch Axe and Bow meanwhile to keep things interesting. Still love the game but my wishlist for stuff I really want to grind for is pretty empty. Will not have much time to play for a week now which might be good.

Hi my baby boys. It seems i'm late to the party. This game tends to run out of stock quickly in my country. It could literally take 1 day to empty the shelf. But nevermind. Been playing this game for two days, I noticed that this game was a bit cluncky at first. But the more I play this game, it turns out the game is not clunky, it is just fun in incoventional way.

These two days Ive been trying Iron Blade, i think i need tip on how to do proper vault jump to mount a monster.

If/when G rank happens, is it going to be such a huge spike that one will need to prepare in thia way?
To ask another way to vets of the series: it was easy enough to farm some HR quests for (HR) armor using upgraded LR gear, will it be the same for G rank?

Finally beat Nergi, switched over to insect glaive after testing out mostly longsword and charge blade and love it.

Can't put this game down!

Does unlocking the armor cap make it so that armor with lower stats are more viable? What's the new cap after unlocking?

Is Dear Hecatelia the CB that is perfectly balanced between form and function?

Odium is the best looking but lacks raw damage while Diablos is the strongest but lacks appearance.

Hecatelia is the 8th strongest, has a lot of blue sharpness, two lvl 2 slots and has a cool design.

I've search all over the world, but perhaps the one I've been looking for is beside me all along....

The endgame is really disappointing. After over 100 hours I feel like I should hardly complain, but honestly after finally getting the sets and weapons I want, it feels like it was for nothing.

No secret, unique mega hard super bosses. I feel like MH would benefit from some raid design. The endgame just needs more.

Im pretty letdown by the end game. Coming from MH3U this is a lot more short lived it seems. 10/10 game, Im using the plat trophy for something to chase since the game doesnt provide much after HR50

Unfortunately outside of Vaal I hate most of the endgame armor. Besides weapons, which mostly have poor designs, I really have no reason to continue playing. :(

That's not how flash pods work. The flash just needs to explode in front of them. They have to be looking at it. Where it is doesn't matter as long as it's in close proximity. Just shoot it at the ground in the general area in front of any monster and it flashes them. You're not supposed to be hitting the monster with flash pods

Are there many main "story" quests left after the 3 elder dragon ones? Finished the wind dragon one already.
The 3 elder dragons and then 1 more quest is the end of the story.

Varies by rarity, but generally it allows you to upgrade all the HR armor to ~90 defense. Gets very expensive to do that though. 100k+ zenny and a ton of armor spheres per piece
Any of the events this week worth doing? The decoration farm last week was pretty cool
The on against 5 enemies is good for farming gold crowns for those 5

It's interesting how the mood has changed in this thread.
I'm in the same boat, came here to complain that I don't really have any reason to play after beating Xeno'whatshisname. I mean, 87+ hours on a single game in a span of just 3 weeks (some have 200h, which is mindblowing to me), it's probably just a burn out.

I LOVE this game. It's my first MH and I had amazing time with it. There is simply no more carrot for me to chase. Sure, I can eventually craft that lvl8 weapons, but for what? So that I can beat Nergigante in 10 minutes instead of 25? Nah, I think I'll pass on that.
I really hope they would additionally differentiate weapon tiers in future versions. Extra combos, extra anything, but please make lvl8 hammer FEEL more powerful than the base one.

I will surely be there for MHW2 or whatever they call it. I will also gladly play next handheld one (with current sensibilities built-in).

Brother in law got the game, it's so great to play with family, headphones and everything, I hope it clicks with him.

What's the point of trading guild cards in this game? Same as always?

Homey, you're only HR 28. You haven't even finished the required quests yet.

You've got an Assignment at HR 29, and another one at HR 49. You ain't done yet.

And believe me, the quest at HR 49 is going to be your toughest challenge yet.
