I really hope more give it a chance, it is really a fun game.
I love kojima but let's move on.
If this game was called "Mars Gardener Survive" and was the exact same game, would you give it a chance?I'm not fussed about Kojima. I'm not giving this game a chance because I love MGS for its cinematic espionage not its co-op zombie shooting. If they make a traditional MGS next then I'll definitely pick it up.

Good to know. Any licensed music? Noooow sure as the sun will cross the skyy this lie is oooverThere are cassette tapes, yes. I haven't seen a proper long cutscene again yet, but from the launch trailer we know there are.
So far the streamer has been exploring, finding survivors and memory boards and the only cutscenes were the codec convos.
There are also music cassette tapes btw, lol. With Peace Walker music and such. You can play the music at your base camp to raise morale apparently.

Technically, we dont really know how cinematic this sucker will get. Server setbacks means no one has yet completed story mode but it seems at least more varied than the co-op.I'm not fussed about Kojima. I can definitely tell you that at the start the game has quite a few cutscenes and they then basically entirely stop.Technically, we dont really know how cinematic this sucker will get. Server setbacks means no one has yet completed story mode but it seems at least more varied than the co-op.
*shrugs*
Only time will tell. I'm watching this thread like a hawk though.
Im reserving judgement until someone completes this thing. If it has some epic bosses, I'll throw my cash at it.I can definitely tell you that at the start the game has quite a few cutscenes and they then basically entirely stop.
The streamer I am watching is in Chapter 13 and there hasn't been a cutscene since I think Chapter 2
Streamer has not been fighting a boss. So far the chapters basically end after you fulfill the "main task" which is pretty much "find a survivor" or "enable a driller". I think this is still just all "explore map and build base" stuff before the "real" story startsIm reserving judgement until someone completes this thing. Those are like, what, 1:1 odds?
I dunno, maybe, who knows. Do you have stock in Konami?

naw its got to be slanted for flop to lose, who is picking that it wont given the circumstances surrounding it?

After seeing some of this new monster shit, I'm down. Ordered it today.
I mean that would depend on the budget and everything given its pretty much an asset flipHonestly, this seems like it has the potential to do decently. People who played it seem to agree that it is not a dumpster fire, i wouldn't really put any bets on this game as it's performance could go either way. Sure it might not sell as much as the later MGS games, but i could see this turning a profit.

it's only out on console in like two regions right nowGame is currently #95 on Twitch, with 650 people watching overall.
wtf
The PC version depends on your hardware of course, but I was getting 4k/60 on my 1080ti and i7 4770k. I'm going with PC, but I guess it doesn't come out til tomorrow?Anyone? Trying to work out if I should get the PS4 version just in case it turns out to be great and I can convince friends to get it, or if the PC version will look significantly better than the Pro version and I should just get that.
Decided since I can't play till Thursday I'll boot back up MGSV and play it again till then.
Then when I started the game I was reminded all my other save files were on my old original PS4 before I upgraded to the Pro.
Absolutely none, I'm afraid.
I decided to start again, anyways. But man I really disliked this intro. It's so tedious to do a second time lolWelp, you'll get that much more hungry for Survive I guess?
Get on that cloud saves train though.
I'm not particularly enjoying my time with it, I'm a strong "fuck Konami" type and there are definitley a lot of cut corners but this is in no way comparable to an asset flip.I mean that would depend on the budget and everything given its pretty much an asset flip

Credit should always be given where it's due and it's clear that the team on this thing has some real passion for it. There's a lot of new neat stuff and things that the marketing and Beta hid and they deserve to commended for it. Let's not be totally ignorant, yeah?
Also, you just made me defend Konami. I hope you're happy with yourself.
It's lower budget for sure and it reuses a lot of elements from V, but calling it an asset flip is pretty demeaning towards the amount of new work that has clearly gone into the product.
Any difficulty selector for the single player campaing ? this look interesting for survival aspect, it just want the game to be somewhat challenging. Someone can comment on that ?
Screw it I bought it, I love the series too much to not play it tbh plus the Beta was kinda fun
Metal Gear Survive is a video game that was unessecary. A flawed concept for a game but still understood due to the fact it allows people to take part in the fox engine yet again which is undoubtedly entertaining. The whole problem lies in the inclusion of online services because what about those that favour single player experiences? I mean it even has a campaign mode. Metal Gear is primarily a single player type of game and this is just nonesense against the consumer as if they are being tracked by developers for fan feeback for the game. Gameplay wise this is an amazing fun-time and go-to game. Any sale figures that I'm not bothered to google because I'm sad the series had to end like this. Unless somebody pulls out something great for Metal Gear again like ground-up remakes of past titles.
