Took the plunge and ordered it on GMG. Hopefully they get keys out soon.

Kinda wishing I hadn't read a big spoiler a page or two back, but it feels like the type of game where the big surprises will come during gameplay and in small story things so knowing that one thing probably won't make much of a difference. Seems like there's some weird shit in this game, so I'm hoping there's a lot more beyond what I already know.

It's definitely out of left field here from my play through...a very very different game....it's like going home to fuck your wife who has had her soul replaced with a tripping nympho...it makes the same sounds as your old wife ....you sorta like it but your not too sure about it...bravo konami....can't say you didn't try something different

... What ?

This gentleman deserves a tag.

Does anyone know how to access the equipment you get from the beta? I received it from the pod, but do not see it in my inventory at all? Is it something I can make later?

ok big spoiler about the ending
Turns out that after you kill the "lord of dust" the credits roll but the game continues cause you still need to "get home". it seems at this point the game becomes harder and new enemies show up

Check the Supply Box in the Repository. It's at your base.

Finally, I can sit down and play some more. Been thinking about it all day at work, lol.

I'll try to answer any questions you guys might have.

alright sorry but I have to share this here with people who are ok with spoilers
be aware that this is a pretty huge one, so really only read this if you are 100% with spoilers
After the credits and before the "return home" part of the game starts, there is a conversation between Gruen and Goodluck where Gruen is angry with Goodluck for "predicting a wormhole to open above Mother Base during the XOF attack". But this never happened cause your character and your friends changed history and are now stuck in the future trying to get home. Goodluck brought the wormhole tech to the MGS timeline. So Survive is basically canon, no alternate reality, just timetravel shenanigans. It explains where the wormhole tech came from.

Klyka the fact that you keep posting spoilers gives me hope that there's more ridiculousness beyond what you posted a couple pages back that I haven't spoiled for myself. Gonna refrain from any more spoilers, but I'm very intrigued.

Here's hoping they pull the trigger on Steam a little early.

My god I know kojima liked to drop some acid from time to time and write his storylines but it appears they left the drug dealer to write the story for this one

I mean.... that doesnt sound too bad. haha....

Man there are some very very VERY long "codec" cutscenes in this that are basically just non moving imagines with people talking about them.
We also just learned the story behind Dite.
The game is actually set in the 22nd century. Not in an alternate dimension. The Dust and the monsters are all because of (i can't believe I am writing this) Nanomachines.
if this is fuckin true LOL. Already 10/10 story.

Looks like the amount of Kuban Energy you get from killing enemies depends on their level.

I just killed a level 15 guy, and got 1500 KUB. Kill a level 9 guy, and you should get 900 KUB.

Of course, as it was said before, it's better to backstab them and extract to get more KUB...but if the enemy is a higher level than you and you try a backstab, you might not be able to extract because they might have some life left.

enemies levels are area dependent i think.
they do level with you but for each area only up to a maximum level.

Like it was said, I think it depends on the area.

I actually just came across one of the areas from the beta, and it had level 17 enemies, while I'm level 11.

How's the base building mechanics?

You have a 14 x 14 area for your base. Right in the middle, you have things like the AI, storage and skill trainer (where you level up) and you can't move them. So you're able to build around that.

Things you can build in the beginning:

Campfire
Weapon workbench
Gadgets workbench
Gear workbench

You can place these anywhere inside that 14 x 14 square (again, except the middle). When you first get your base, they'll be rubble around, which you can destroy to make room.

You can rearrange things by orientation.

Some buildings might need 1 square to build, while others might require more.

As you progress, you'll get upgrades for buildings. For example, you start with a basic campfire but that gets upgraded to let you craft more advances things.

Other things you can eventually build:

Shelter - You can sleep here and if you are suffering from any illness, if you sleep at least 6 hours, you'll be healed from them. Downside is your thirst and hunger will decrease.

Vegetable farm - After a certain amount of time, you'll gain vegetables.

If you want to surround your base with fences, you can. Sandbags? You can.

There's also crew management. Assign survivors to different teams.

There is a max capacity for your base in terms of how much you can buils. Each thing you build adds to that. A campfire, for example, adds 0.7%.

Unrelated, but there are daily and weekly quests. Looking at what they have now, the rewards are just materials...but it's something extra to do.

This sounds more fun and meaningful than MGSV's Mother Base.

This game is quite good. But dear God they wait too long to give you clean drinking water. I guess it's made things quite tense, which is a plus for some I'm sure.

I feel like I would hit a brick wall if it wasn't for the two free clean waters as a login bonus today.

I feel like many don't know certain basic fruits or vegetables you can find provide water. Or chance it with dirty water and use the intestinal medicine or whatever else cures sickness.

Thanks. Is there only 1 base or are there multiple bases which you can build?

Is money one of the resources in this game, where you can use the money to buy items or resources?

I like the crafting and building mechanics in Fallout 4, which got me curious with this game. I will probably buy it tonight

I'm still early in my playthrough (just finished chapter 7 and am doing some material farming in the dust), but I'm really enjoying this. After MGS3, I was really hoping for a game to take the survival mechanics and make a game which focused on these concepts. So far, Survive is scratching that itch plus it is really great to be playing something new that utilizes the wonderful engine and gameplay of MGS5.

This game is a lot of things, good, strange, insane. One thing I will say however as somebody who normally doesn't care for survival games, this is by far miles beyond 99.98 percent of the trash that have clogged up Steam and Early Access in general. The combat and the mechanics at a high level are so good, especially in a really down to the wire co-op match.

Anyone able to give me some advice?

I have the ability to make the air tank, but I'm missing the Stainless Steel and I can't seem to find it anywhere. I need to make it to go to the objective area, so I'm getting a tad frustrated.

I have water bottles. I fill them with dirty water, take them to the firepit and can turn them into clean water.

I have canteens. I fill them with dirty water, take them to the firepit...and still have canteens full of dirty water. What am I missing here? Can you not pour water out of a canteen?

I have 4 options to make clean water. Canteen which can either require a bottle of clean or dirty water and an empty canteen, or Bottle which either requires a bottle of dirty water or a canteen of clean water and an empty bottle. No option lets you clean dirty water from a canteen. No option anywhere lets you do anything with the dirty water canteen aside from drink it.
