I have water bottles. I fill them with dirty water, take them to the firepit and can turn them into clean water.

I have canteens. I fill them with dirty water, take them to the firepit...and still have canteens full of dirty water. What am I missing here? Can you not pour water out of a canteen?

I have 4 options to make clean water. Canteen which can either require a bottle of clean or dirty water and an empty canteen, or Bottle which either requires a bottle of dirty water or a canteen of clean water and an empty bottle. No option lets you clean dirty water from a canteen. No option anywhere lets you do anything with the dirty water canteen aside from drink it.

I ended up drinking the dirty water from the canteen, using medicine and then using then using the advanced campfire to fill the canteen with clean water (4 dirty bottles I believe). I didn't see an option to dump the canteen. You can also craft a new canteen.

Alright, I've played about an hour into the single player. I have to be careful or I'm going to log a lot of hours into this game and ignore Monster Hunter. Lol. I am really digging the survival mechanics.

One quick question. How far do I need to get for the multiplayer option to pop up?

I'm a sucker for survival games. So is this any good? I thought the beta was just ok. Found the zombies way to easy.

I've tried watch some streams. Not many people streaming it so hard to judge the game.

I really love the Dust so far. How your map just basically turns all indicators off. Seems like it can be super easy to just get lost. Which makes it more dangerous I suppose.

In a good way.

When you built it, you should've had the option to equip it in your tool slots. Go back to the customization bench and make sure you equipped it.

Go to any workbench or the Repository and choose "Change Equipment." Use RB to scroll to the right till you see "Survival Equipment." That should be it.

I actually got lost about 30 min ago, lol. Before I headed into the mist, I put a marker so I know where to go. Like you said, your indicators don't work, or at least they pop up but then disappear. Because of this, I went off course and ended up so far from my objective. Usually, you may see green lights, indicating the direction of your base. Or you'll see blue lights which I think are safe zones? Either way, I didn't see anything, lol.

I did come across a couple of containers with new things to craft but I was running out of oxygen and KUB. If I died, I would have to do it all over and I didn't want to go to sleep angry, haha. I eventually found my way back but man that shit was tense.

I am sure i did this, but I guess I have to do it again? Thanks for this. I been running into all sorts of issues, but then again some tutorials are kinda vague to me. Thanks

From the positive impressions here, I preordered from GMG, hope there are enough PC users to not regret my decision. Any idea how big the game is?

I cannot for the life of me get past obtaining the Wormhole Generator. I don't have any metal fences left or the materials to make them, I have three wooden fences which may as well be made of paper and hope with how quickly it gets shredded and all I have is the starting spear which is hardly able to kill a single Wanderer once they're swarming in a horde. After five different tries, I gave up for the night to get some work done but I feel discouraged at this point.

Also, what's the deal with the pre-order stuff? I have the hats and all of that stuff but I haven't been able to find the weapons you're supposed to be granted, nor can I customize my spear and add the gold paint job. Any help there?

What's the point of giving me the option to restart from last save or base camp? It boots me back there anyway. The lack of checkpoints hurts

Man there are some very very VERY long "codec" cutscenes in this that are basically just non moving imagines with people talking about them.
We also just learned the story behind Dite.
The game is actually set in the 22nd century. Not in an alternate dimension. The Dust and the monsters are all because of (i can't believe I am writing this) Nanomachines.

I mean.... that doesnt sound too bad. haha....

if this is fuckin true LOL. Already 10/10 story.

So they went down the
Planet of the Apes
route eh? Not the worst plot twist trope they could have farted out...in fact I think it's poetic in a sardonic way.

The gold weapons can be crafted at the weapon workbench. Have you destroyed the big piles of junk in your base? They give you some materials. I think they give you iron.

From 'quake area to big OH.
So far I was able to get the air tank. Next mission is a piece of tech. Slow and not too exciting, unless you get spotted. Then there is some adrenaline to escape.
Died a few times due to control issues. Once was I climb a tower. And instead of climbing down my guy jumped off.

You can not play the open world in co-op, sadly.
The multiplayer mode (so far) consists of 5 different maps that you play with up to 4 people in tower defense mode.

A few hours in, game is definitely harder than I thought it would be.

Were most games would but 3 or 4 enemies in an area this one tends to be 10+.

Had a few scares with pushing resources and suprise attacks. Really enjoying it so far

Well, that was really smart of Konami. Not like it won't get bombarded with angry user reviews in the mean time.

Reviewers in Europe have the game, but can't start it.. lol.. needs the update, but it hasn't launched yet. Supposed to get more info later today.

Has anyone pre ordered it directly from Steam? I would like to know if it supports preload and the size of the download.

This has to be some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. There's no WAY that's all there is as far as co-op features. I thought this was a fully co-op driven game??
There's a new MP mode coming in March, and I assume the game will receive regular new content updates so long as it sells decently. But this is very much a singleplayer game. The co-op stuff is basically this game's equivalent of Metal Gear Online.

So people have unlocked the additional classes
They are sub classes. You choose one + your base survivor class. The classes are Assault, Jaeger, Medic and Scout. You need to have your Survivor level at 35 and then do a post-story mission where you find a memory board with the classes on it.

That thread title is amazing and makes the existence of this game valid, whatever the haters say. Good one, bravo.

Apparently you'll get absolutely murdered if you try and play MP straight away. The game's MP is way, way, way harder than the beta.
Oh great. Is this gonna be one of those games that keeps the SP free of micro-transactions but loads up the MP with it to the point of making it impossible to progress unless you pony up the dosh?

I genuinely liked the MP TD mode cause it reminded me of Dungeon Defenders which I loved.

No, it's just that the Multiplayer easy missions start enemies at lvl 20.
You can still go in and beat maybe the first wave and then extract and level that way, but the idea seems to be that they want you to play the singleplayer (which also unlocks maps in the MP) and then go into multi once you are a little stronger and learned the game.
