Hey guys, looking for some Re:CoM advice.

When I level up, I get sleights whenever they are available but should I focus more on CP or HP other times?

Thinking back to my platinum run for Birth By Sleep and remembered my proudest moment in gaming:

It's tedious and ridiculously unbalanced. And the addition of trophies only serve to highlight the game's problems in addition to adding more. I've probably owned more versions of the game than anyone (GBA, JP, ENG, PS3, PS4) and I can no longer stand it. RE:CoM should have dropped the card mechanic entirely for combat and made it play like KH. Just use cards for exploration and plot. Also, every single world is pointless save like three.

Also, it's not fun. Particularly the final end boss, the last version of the fire boss, the last version of the replica boss, and most of the second mode including the final final boss of that. Exercise in frustration and boredom, particularly when every other game is so much better. Re:CoM should be the film and Re:coded should be the game.

Re:CoM should be the film and Re:coded should be the game.
I don't quite hate CoM as much but I can agree with this. Re:coded was simply more fun to play. Square-Enix backed the wrong horse on this one. Re:coded was unfortunately the victim to its order of release and getting grouped together with KH2 and BBS on the collection would relegate it to 'movie-only' status because SE will be damned if they'll include 3 playable games instead of two on a single collection that's not a simple rom dump.

Re:CoM should be the film and Re:coded should be the game.
Good idea, at least the later plays well.

Anyway, I hope they do a bit more with drean eaters than just that 1 summon.
It's shouldn't be anything major, just some kind of mini game.
I like them, but I don't like to level grinding them to unlock more abilities (espically not with the drop mechanic 3D had).

Yo, that Maleficent discussion on the past page was great. Wouldn't be mad at all if she was the final villain.

Re:CoM is the kind of game that was fine when I played it but I don't want to ever touch it again.
My problem is that I played it on GBA, then I played it in Japanese for Final Mix+, then I played it in English for Re:CoM, so by the time the PS3 and PS4 remakes hit, I was completely burned out.

Also, the GBA version actually plays a lot better.

It might not happen in KH3, so it's possible she becomes main villain again in the next game.
In any case she knows about the Book of Prophecies and the black box, so something is up with her.

Just wanted to update you on 3D. I went into the last two worlds I played with high expectations and they still blew me away. They both are definitely up there in the top and maybe even my favorites.

Overall 3D has been an amazing game when it comes to gameplay, worlds and music. There is not much story, what's there is hinting at some really interesting stuff but so far the game hasn't really explored it. Not sure if it will or if it's just setting up the story for KH3.

Yes! Musketeers and (especially) Symphony of Sorcery are my favorites and I also love what they did with The World That Never Was in this one too. Almost all of the story happens in that last world but it was worth it, imho, even if the time travel element threw all of it for a loop. My Riku was a lot underleveled compared to Sora so those fights against Seeker of Darkness and Young Xehanort were some of the hardest story bosses I've ever fought in the series. It was so thrilling. The soundtrack was really good for this game, I agree.

A part of me dies every time someone starts a thread on Kingdom Hearts 3 and how it may deal with the previous games' stories. I really do not want to see the plethora of disgusting hot takes and confusion when we're actually closer to the release date / post-release.

At least you care about the series! So many people want to trash the series while wanting to remain ignorant about it.

KH will always be a punching bag for random people's hot takes.
Thankfully sites like IGN got someone who actually knows what they're talking about. Before then it was 'Eraqueez' this and 'Roxas is the worst character' that (though an article from 2012 title "Kingdom Hearts Sucks (But It Doesn't Have To)" has them saying Ventus is a less likeable character than Roxas) and they would laugh at fans who defended the franchise.

KH has its issues, yeah, but I feel that a lot of the people who bash it don't care to follow the franchise at all and just throw a certain mindset around. We still have people saying KH3 will come out in 10 years time or those who think there will be 'another' delay even though we've never gotten a release date and therefore haven't had a proper delay (the only one was the engine swap but that happened early on in dev and they seem to have really pushed through on UE4 since then).

The collections may not be on Xbox One or Switch, and would only be considered after 3 releases, but Square has done a good job getting the games onto one system so people can catch up with the story and understand some of what is going on. At this point I feel like it's only worth listening to those who are confused with the plot if they've actually played the previous games. The others just don't seem to care to even read a wiki article or something.

I just had a thought. Did Aqua ever see the face of pre-merger Vanitas? I don't remember. Just wondering because if she did, then imagine how it'll be when she meets a certain someone in KHIII.

No. She tried to remove his mask but he laughed and fought back. The only time she saw Vanitas without a mask was when he had merged with Ventus and it was Ventus' head on Vanitas' body.

There might be a freak out scene from Riku or Kairi, who think Vanitas is actually Sora turned dark, but idk. Some are also expecting Sora to freak out when seeing Vanitas' face, but Sora already saw that character without a mask in Dream Drop Distance.

Square has done everything they can to prepare folks for KH3 at this point. They've released all of the collections and likely will have plenty of stuff in place to catch people up on the series if DDD is anything to go by. The only red mark here is the Xbox getting shafted. It's unfortunate but a result of their games not selling well enough on that platform and them announcing KH3 for it before the generation had really kicked off. I would love for them to bring the collections to Xbox but unless KH3 moves impressive numbers there I just don't see it happening.

I don't think people would be pissed at Kingdom Hearts on the Switch. I think they'd be happy to have the entire series and to have it as a portable game. It makes more sense to go on the Switch than it did for KH3 to go to Xbox.

I feel bad for the Xbox people as well. It isn't fair that Square Enix turned their back on that (limited) fan base. I understand that the decided on having the game be on those two platforms - it was unknown which product consumers would be interested in more and there wasn't a viable Nintendo option at the time, but to have dropped support completely.... Might as well just have cancelled the Xbox One port.

For lovers
Honestly, I'm just excited that a wider audience will be exposed to my girl Aqua since KH3 will bring in a whole new crowd that has no idea about the other games. Time for all of 2018's 7 and 8 year olds to start crying like I did when KH1 came out.

Or how about bringing Pixar into the mix and seeing what happens to Goofy and Donald when they enter the world of Toy Story?

Oh IGN.

Here's a gem from 2015's E3 trailer. IGN was a mess back then with KH.

I know it's not much of an accomplishment but I just beat Terra's story on BBS, and I'm proud of myself because I'm one step closer to my goal of having caught up on all the games / videos prior to the KH3 release.

Now onward to Ventus and Aqua! I am really enjoying BBS a lot. It doesn't play quite as well as KH2FM but the systems are pretty interesting and I like the tone of the story.

I really like BBS but few things I wish they worked on were better character movement, better command deck balance, and better boss balance. But I really enjoyed my playthrough although I didn't play on Crit because I heard bbs Crit was bad..

For critical you will most likely have to grind early on to craft abilties (such as second chance). After that it's not too bad.
BBS at level 1 is very tedious since it doesn't take long before you only deal 1 damage per hit.

didn't they fix the chip damage issue with the HD version?
