Also, a complete aside, but I tried capturing an animal to store at the base - ran over to it, kicked it and used the wormhole to send it back - but nothing is captured. Did I do something wrong?

Is this your second base defense? I would recommend just expanding the base and letting it be. I feel like i wasted hundreds of mats putting fences all around the base and wooden barricades around all my facilities. If this is you first defense, then put fences on the sides and on the front. maybe a barricade or two in front of the wormhole and you should be fine.

You should be able to craft an assault rifle. with 60 bullets you can take out the first two waves and then use your motolovs and flame arrows on the remaining two waves from the sides.

I haven't unlocked classes yet, but if you are only able to choose one at a time then perhaps you need to specifically be Survivor class to use that? I'm assuming you're currently using another class.

Ive tried that aswell. Was googling it. And it seems some armors are just bugged and wont allow them, even though you meet all requirements :(

What all do you retain from coop missions? Based on some experimentation, it seems like if you make items and miv it to the storehouse you keep it. Anything else?

First time going into the Dust was pretty tense. Visually very cool, but the race against declining numbers with now even a third gauge to keep an eye on and manage [you can't endlessly refill it with air? Or someting?] shit is getting kinda crazy.

So the only way the game won't crash on startup is by turning off my PC, rebooting, then immediately opening up the game.

If I wait 30 seconds or so it crashes when logging into the servers every single time, what the fuck.

The first letter of the last names in columns 2 and 3 have two of the exceptions, Bastard Yaka and Cunning Yuji have the other two exceptions.

Those first two exceptions at the top read:

Iron Marlin
Dire Gibbon

Which clearly means Metal Gear.

They have KIA next to them.

I finished chapter 5 with the helicopter. But a few times I would warp back to home out of the dust, and game over for no reason.

The survivor was dying?

So I have to ask, I've seen people talk about cages for sheep and what not, where do you get that? I'm close to the end of the story and I haven't found it, also the fire arrows. I could have sworn I found the recipe but I guess I haven't.

You can but it takes more and more Kuban to do it. You can even refill it after 0% durability but at that point you are spending 20k plus Kuban for 20% additional.

I snap, I forgot about making a new tank instead of sinking Kuban into it. I stopped at around 1000. I looted so many I could almost justify it.

For these cages, you find the blueprints in containers. It wasn't until I hit 30 hours where I found one but people have gotten it sooner than that.

I don't know if they spawn in specific containers or it's random.

For Oxygen, you can use Kuban to refill or (eventually) you can craft a portable air tank that can refill it

I played a bit of Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain but I am totally lost regarding characters and story (minus some stuff I picked up through osmosis) so I stopped back then.
I am currently watching a MGS1 play-through and continue with Survive in the meantime.

Where in the blue hell is the airport and forsaken ruins? I feel like I've been everywhere. Also I just joined a random salvage mission and this guy's lobby has the dead cell theme playing and it made me so happy.

I just did the daily salvage mission and got 13 pieces of that so maybe grind that out.

Some areas of the map are closed off. I don't think it's part of this current version

Do you know the base with no wormhole that's between the mansion and the area you warp into to run up to it?

If you check the warp in point and that base with no fast travel, I think they both have rolls of it lying around.

Closed off but apparently they have items and enemies in, so could potentially be DLC/add-ons for later.

Wow the enemies get crazy in the 2nd half of the game. Also just got a purple chest piece from the daily Salvage mission which should be a very nice upgrade.

HOT DAMN. Beat one of the optional bosses:

Bigmouth was a ridiculous fight. I went through 28 shotgun shells on a purple shotty, 32 .45mm rounds from a blue pistol, 60 heavy arrows with a blue recurve bow, and two stationary turrets.

C4 and Enhanced Molotovs saved the day in the end.

Got an orange weapon and armor crate, but they opened up into purples. Still good shit. Also, that fight was FUN.

Anyone got tips for base defense? I try to beat the attack power on each side by at least 2k but I still lose some of the base defenses if I'm not present... feels bad man.

1.If I get a bug while drinking dirty water, shouldn't I try to fill up on that since I'm going to use the anti-bug medicine?
2. Is the game auto-saved when i head back into base? How can I make sure I've saved without having to save + exit the game via virgil?

Liking the game so far, I refuse to read any reviews because I'm sure they are mostly negative. If this were a indie game without the metal gear name, i'm sure it would review better.

If you get a stomach bug you cannot quench thirst any further.

It only saves when you go back to the base I believe, it should say on the top right of the screen. Either way, I would be safe and exit the game through Vigil every time.

If you have to drink dirty water, cheese it. Only do it at base and if you get the bug, reload.

I expect there'll be a flood of negative Steam reviews every time the game goes down for maintenance. I think the issue here is length. Three hours is a pretty long time. Steam goes down for maintenance every Tuesday, but it's only for an hour or so, AFAIK. It is another reason why the game would really benefit from an offline mode, though.

Still digging the game, even tried some irresponsibly low MP last night (only lvl 12), but I was still the highest in the group and took down more than my fair share of bombers so all was fair in my eyes.

Decent loot from MP, I should stop procrastinating and exploring at chapter 8 and progress further.

I know that it becomes less of a headache as you build up and create a stockpile, but I really do wish time paused (or slowed) while in the base navigating the menus. I get back after an explore, eat up and have a search through to see what I can make after my exploration and next thing my meters are beeping.
