Detective Pikachu is mainline in my heart.
In-canon sequel to Pokémon Yellow, you heard it here first.
That's just how Ishihara looks all the time lol. There are reasons why people think the game can come out this year, besides the obvious fact they said it would be out in 2018 or later themselves.Gamefreak really messed up at E3 last year. They should have not said anything. You can tell the guy they had to make the announcement was nervous and looked like he had a gun to his head to say something. There is no logical sense why a mainline game will come out this year. People need to get their expectations in check and game journalists need to practice restraint with what they report especially after the Pokemon stars debacle.
It looked like they just dragged him out of bed and swear to make Pokemon Switch. He was probably drawing the starters in his notepad right then and there. That's just how Ishihara looks all the time lol. They definitely bumbled the USUM announcement. After a Pokken trailer that felt longer than all the LotR movies combined, they showed ten seconds of USUM footage and then flashed the logo and date on the screen, then proceeded to talk even MORE about Pokken.
This is my headcanon now.
No, fans would be angry because Switch isn't getting a mainline PKMN but 3DS does. It was the right decision.Gamefreak really messed up at E3 last year. They should have not said anything. Oh god, I wouldn't even be surprised if that's not too far off from the truth. :O
Yea they did. The Switch being our did jack shit to USUM's numbers. The game would have sold as well regardless of the internet backlash
I bloody hope so. Getting impatient here, need it injected into my veins now.1 brand new trailer for the new adventure
Give it TO me. Just inject it into my soul

I mean, we did point out a few things that point towards Gen 8 being this year (the anime running out of game material, the legendary distribution ending on November, Game Freak aiming for a 2018 release with "2018 or Later", etc.). The final nail in the coffin for our 2018 hopes would be if they announce a filler arc for the anime.Gamefreak really messed up at E3 last year. They should have not said anything. I'm sure he's super excited to transition to switch as many other developers are! But yeah the trailer gave off the impression to me that they literally just started
Given how Pokemon works, what choice did he have? If Game Freak wanted to make a Switch game and Nintendo wanted it as well, then Ishihara would have had to complylol. Ishihara was one of the many who strongly against the NX in the first place...or we would have USUM on the Switch.
Where is the rumor of a new Lugia form stemming from? Is this game expected to be a Johto remake?I bloody hope so. Getting impatient here, need it injected into my veins now.
Corocoro leaks around the 10th onwards? In 11 days we might see our mighty new Lugia form.
I feel like I've repeatedly pointed out why this is nonsense in this thread alone. There is no logical sense why a mainline game will come out this year.

He wasn't "strongly against" it. He was unsure whether or not handheld play could be a selling point in 2017, just like literally everyone else.lol. Ishihara was one of the many who strongly against the NX in the first place...or we would have USUM on the Switch.
No clue. Just because it's in the new movie, doesn't mean it's getting a new form. For all we know, the other secret is an unrevealed Gen 8 Pokémon.
CoroCoro explicitly said they'll reveal a scoop about Lugia next month. We already know everything about the Pokémon itself and we already know it's in the movie, so it has to be something newNo clue. Just because it's in the new movie, doesn't mean it's getting a new form. For all we know, the other secret is an unrevealed Gen 8 Pokémon.
I honestly wouldn't expect anything today. So what's the dealio folks? Are we expecting anything new from TPC today? Do they normally say or do anything special on Pokemon Day besides the stuff that's already been announced?
In terms of the anime there is still a lot of material they can do. There are still two grand trials left, the Ultra Beast arc, Pokemon League, Hau, Team Skull, Rainbow Rocket, Captures and Evolutions, cameos from past Protagonists (they said its a chance they do more episodes like the Brock and Misty ones),Zeraora could get an arc like Meloetta instead of being in it he movie, etc.. Just because we got the Aether Foundation out the way doesn't mean there is nothing left.I mean, we did point out a few things that point towards Gen 8 being this year (the anime running out of game material, the legendary distribution ending on November, Game Freak aiming for a 2018 release with "2018 or Later", etc.). The thing is that the akala arc and the Aether arc were done very quickly, so even if we have more things it doesn't mean they will last long enoughIn terms of the anime there is still a lot of material they can do. From Serebii.net:Where is the rumor of a new Lugia form stemming from? Is this game expected to be a Johto remake?
It's pretty consistent with ways they have revealed new forms in the pastThe next image of CoroCoro has come out and has revealed that, as many suspected based on the initial trailer, Lugia is to take part in the new movie insome manner. It also states that next month, the issue of CoroCoro will reveal an important scoop on Lugia and to pay extra attention to Lugia this year. The full details are as of yet unknown but we'll post as it comes
But unless they slow the pacing down to a crawl, that content won't get the anime to last long beyond 2018 without lots of filler. Plus the odds are looking as though we'll get Zeraora in Movie 21. I'm not saying that there's nothing left, but rather that there isn't a whole lot left at the current rate the story is going at.In terms of the anime there is still a lot of material they can do. Another theory is perhaps these games aren't gen 8, HD remakes/new games based in Kanto with new Pokemon forms such as Lugia and a few others. But unless they slow the pacing down to a crawl, that content won't get the anime to last long beyond 2018 without lots of filler. Plus the odds are looking as though we'll get Zeraora in Movie 21. That said, you did brings up a good idea of revisiting Kanto as being the potential filler arc.
Flying has been my top pick for an eeveelution since forever. I always imagined it being white and fluffy and super adorable.I'm 100% sure we'll get a new Eeveeolution (Flying) in the movie.
Bug, Dragon, Fighting, Flying, Ghost, Ground, Poison, Rock and Steel. They could also do a Normal evolution. What eeveelutions are we missing? Dragon, Steel, Normal, Ghost, Flying? I feel like I'm missing some.
They could literally do everything you mention here (and they won't- I don't expect Hau, Rainbow Rocket, or Zeraora any time soon), and it still wouldn't fill much more than this year at the speed they've been going, particularly given that they're already teasing Nanu/Necrozma/Ultra Beasts. In terms of the anime there is still a lot of material they can do. well i mean, i am also talking about how BOTW feels A LOT like the very first ZELDA and IMO LTTP./You missed the part where I said compared to the past few titles.
I always wanted a Light type, but since we have Fairy now there would be a bit too much overlap. Sound could be interesting but it would be weird to have Physical Sound attacksWhat about a new type? They used Eevee to introduce fairy type, and in gold we got umbreon.
Sound type has been speculated for years and in gen 6 they gave some mechanics yo sound attacks (It would be weird with Noivern changing one of it's types)
What if instead of new pokémon types, they include a new system in which you can have moves with two types (either they have two types as base, or by combining two moves from two pokémon during 2v2). You could create new move types based on those combinations, while the typings of the pokémon stay the same.I always wanted a Light type, but since we have Fairy now there would be a bit too much overlap. Did you deduce this because the note book is on the first pages and it was the start of the project? It looked like they just dragged him out of bed and swear to make Pokemon Switch. He was probably drawing the starters in his notepad right then and there.

that would be sick tbh. i love Lugia. i kinda really want this game to be a combo of gens 1 and 2 in one game. with new pokemon as well as the 250 or whatever up through gen 2. that would be amazingThe new Eeveelution will be a Lugia form. Gonna turn into a sleek little bird dog like a combination of Lugia and Trico.

They wrung most of the content out of the region in slightly over a year. There's no reason why they pounded through it that quickly if they're just going to jam the brakes on now.
