Omg Its worse than the pics
Dunno if it's wise to post a Tweet promotion the piracy of the ROM.So apparently this is like the bad FFV and FFVI ports.
Run, thread! Run!
Just bought the DS version a couple of weeks ago and looks like I'll just stick with it
It looks even worse in motion
Doesn't this release indicate that they are looking for more mobile ports and thereby Tactics is more likely to be released?
My tweets are blowing the fuck up right now, but I think this might be the worst that Square Enix has ever treated one of their ports.
The title screen has bad tearing from the get go.
Tiles don't even begin to match up.
Characters are a blurry mess, the text is difficult to read.
The character sprites have one filter, the background tiles have another, and then things like the flags, Leene's bell, and the shine on Marle's pendant don't have any filtering at all.
What the fuck is even going on here?
Here, let's dream for a second: http://portbegging.tumblr.com/post/75074889969/port-begging-for-chrono-trigger-publisher
Rlan put together what is arguably the best way to handle this treasure of a game. Keep things faithful, but update simple aspects (like the aspect ratio) to meet modern expectations.
If you want to play Chrono Trigger in its best official way, grab the DS version. Lots of improvements over the PSX version and an updated translation that has a slightly more faithful take.
If you want to play Chrono Trigger in its best unofficial way, grab a Wii U, the DS version of Chrono Trigger, and use homebrew to play the top screen on your TV and the touch screen on your Wii U Gamepad.
But whatever you do, don't buy this version of the game.
Dunno if it's wise to post a Tweet promotion the piracy of the ROM.
Yeah, so this runs at 10-15 FPS, keeps the mobile overlay and substandard fonts, and has the terrible filtering applied.
The tiles have always been like this, but the bad filtering makes it extremely obvious where the seams in them are. It's much harder to tell if you're playing the original game with none of the filtering applied, and even harder to spot them playing it on a CRT on genuine hardware.Okay, so the tiles aren't supposed to look like that then? Alright, definitely refunding.
Even ignoring the filter, none of the tiles on the ground anywhere, or trees, etc... Match up. It's insane.
Ah yes. The Unholy Square Enix Port Trinity.
The Father
The Son
The Unholy Ghost

These and the other CT screenshots all look awful... when will fans ever get the original games in their unaltered state??? SMH
BRB playing the Genesis and NeoGeo games I bought that are ROMs in an emulator."they should just release the rom in an emulator"
At times I can't even tell if people are for real or not on this site. Like sure, that would be easy.

VC, the idea behind this is great. While I love that this service exists, if anything where to happen to my Wii and if the store stopped allowing me to re-download that media. I would be straight up boned at that point.Well there's the Wii VC versions of all those games...while they last.
Oh really? I saw one or two Steam reviews mention that they lost their saves, but I didn't know that it corrupts itself over time.Nah FF6 PC corrupts itself as you play so unless this does that too nope.
Was the DS version altered? Haven't played it yet, though I bought it last year.
It does, but we're too busy complaining about them not releasing more mobile ports, but also, that they keep releasing mobile ports.
Been playing for half an hour, can confirm its the Android/iOS version
Bravo fantastic post seriously SE your embarrassing yourself get it together you want all the money? then do it the right way................ like like this trash.
No, the DS version is, while some will disagree, as good as the SNES version.
