IDK about that if they sell 20M that would be among one of the best years ever for a console, doing more is very ambitious. Just off hand do you remember if the goal was 20M shipped in the fiscal year or sold? Because that would change the conversation and outlook entirely, for me.

Well first off I don't think it was presented as an official forecast, and there was some confusion about whether he meant fiscal year 2018 or calendar year 2018, though I'd imagine the former. But when it's Kimishima talking about sales you should assume he meant shipments, not sell through.
20M wouldn't really be that much more than what they'll sell in FY17 though, so it's probably doable.

Weren't Wario Land and the Link's Awakening remake in another 4chan rumor from earlier in January? I'm guessing this one just copied some common rumors. Maybe either got lucky with the Alliance Alive demo or there were some hints about that demo earlier?
Maybe there will be a 3DS Direct Mini and a full Switch Direct on the same day?
Or maybe it's bullshit and they had one (very) lucky guess?
I hope it's true only for the Marin amiibo.
A 3DS only Direct makes surprisingly sense, since it'll definitely be the last the system will ever receive. It's a nice swan song to conclude with, only Link's Awakening would've been so much better for Switch. But eh, can't have everything.

Even with the demo guess being correct, we haven't had 4chan rumor threads for Nintendo products because 90% of them are wrong to begin with. Why start now.

I don't buy it, but that 3DS Direct list would definitely convince me to buy a 2DS XL. It'd be worth it for the Qbby Amiibo alone!
Not advocating for this rumor, but the existence of a 3DS only Direct is believable since there is nothing but Detective Pikachu on the horizon for it. A Direct to announce a couple new first party games seems plausible, although Wario Land and Link's Awakening both feel too fan-wishy from that post.

You say "I know I know" but then why are you sharing this. Your thread would've gotten closed with the message to not make threads based on unreliable sources. 4chan is the poster child for unreliable sources.
That said, it looks tame enough to be real lol.
I am to the point that despite being a massive 3DS fanboy for like six years now I just am ready to move on. Give me DQXI and Yokai Watch 3 and let's move on.
I really hope this pans out, I would love to have Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Wonderful 101 and Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Switch. Wonderful 101 seems rather unlikely based on its poor sales but that did not stop Nintendo from funding the development of Bayonetta 3 so who knows.
Also for clarification. The March 1st date applies only to Europe. The Alliance Alive demo is out in the US.

Almost believable, until Wario Land.

That was a rare exception that could primarily be attributed to the format. The "leaker" in that case was helping to set up a floor space and caught the names of games from signage. They did not have insider information about pre-recorded videos.
He also leaked this Lego compilation apparently releasing in April. So we'll see soon enough if he has reliable sources.

Ok is he saying to expect general Switch news or Pokémon Switch news? Because if it's general Switch news then the only thing that can be is a direct and it's already Tuesday.
If we get anything this week, it'll be a general Direct. I'd be shocked if they revealed Pokémon in anything but its own Direct. Announcement tomorrow, Direct on Thursday. That's my bold prediction.

Probably fake, but I could see Sakamoto's team and MS use the Samus Returns engine for a Wario Land title on the 3DS. While we wait a little longer for Metroid Dread of course.
I want to believe. But it feels like it's going to be another week of no new big news. Labo was definitely big, but not really catered towards us as much. We're coming up on two months from the Mini Direct. We haven't had a true Direct since September.
Only way they dodge that meltdown is to end the Direct with "and stay tuned for some great new Nintendo Switch announcements tomorrow!"
