I use Normal for video games. Cinema is too washed out for me.

standard seems like torch mode to me. way too over saturated.

speaking of torch mode, it would be great if they added some kind of additional brightness control for the roku interface. shit is blinding, especially after watching a dark movie.

Was able to look past the total lack of panel uniformity but the 1/3rd screen ads for "Slots XL" are a huge bummer.

The inteset one on Amazon is awesome.

Inteset INT-422 4-in-1 Universal Backlit IR Learning Remote for Apple TV, Xbox One, Roku & Media Center https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M4I1BAY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_T4GHAb0F9Q61T

I've had a harmony smart hub and remote and this thing blows it out of the water. It just works.
my harmony smart remote works fine.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! I think I'll give the Inset a go.

Odd question, but does anyone know how wide the feet on the stand are? My current tv table/stand is 39" wide and it looks like the 605's included stand is 38.6". Which doesn't leave a whole lot of room.

The feet themselves where they'll be touching a stand are about 3/4 of an inch. The length between the feet (and including them) is seemingly 38.5 inches on the front which is a bit wider than the back.

I've had this TV since last July and have had no issues with my PS4 pro or the internal apps while using HDR.

But while playing an HDR content on my Xbox one X and closing it out the colors are dark on my home screen or the oranges are way over blown. It doesn't happen all the time. But it does it enough where it's getting real annoying. It happen while have the X set to wither 8 or 10 Bit so that's not the issue. The RGB color space I have set to standard, and I have allow 4:2:2 checked.

Anyone else have these issues?

Yeah, I think it's an issue with the Xbox since I've read about it happening on other displays. Going back to the tv dashboard and switching back to the Xbox input should fix it.

Got the P605 all set up last night. Miraculously it fit on my tv stand. Granted, there's not a ton of space but I'm really worried about it. And it withstood a minor earthquake early this morning too.

The picture quality is amazing right out of the box. I haven't spent too much time fiddling around with the settings yet though.

I'm going to try some of the settings listed in this thread to see how they work out.

I have some confusion about HDR though. I can't fully wrap my head around what's it even supposed to look like. I played a bit of Shadow of the Colossus this morning and switching between HDR and the regular modes, the HDR mode seemed like it was washed out a bit based on the title screen.

Any pointers on dialing in some HDR settings?

thanks :) also, does the ps4pro netflix support 4k or do I need to use netflix built in to the tv?

I believe the Netflix app on the pro supports 4K with HDR. The built in Netflix app supports 4K with Dolby vision. Just remember to upgrade your Netflix account to the 4K package.

Roku OS is fantastic though and I don't use my consoles for any media.

It's only a couple more dollars a month.

Just bought this tv for my ps4 pro. Any settings I should change right away?

Make sure you go to the TV settings and switch the HDMI ports to 2.0. I believe they are set on auto, all 3 HDMI ports are high speed ports (4K, HDR etc.) when using HDR I personally prefer the warm setting, with HDR dark. I suggest downloading the roku app on your phone as it allows you to access the advanced video setting such as gamma and you can change all the color balances.

I see a lot of folks using movie mode but I'll primarily be gaming. Just use gaming mode? When I do watch Netflix movies is there an easy way to swap between game mode settings and movie mode settings?

So I loaded up Netflix and upgraded to the 4K plan. When watching altered carbon it says HDR. Does that mean I'm watching it in 4K?

Game mode is not one of the picture modes. It can be turned on for any picture mode (movie, normal, hdr dark, dv dark, etc..) It can be togged on in the picture menu using your remote.

For Netflix, Hdr is only available on 4K content so yes if you see hdr or Dolby vision label it's 4k.

No.

There won't be a "similar" model for this until the 2018 sets hit the market.

With TCL, there's the P605/607 and then a bunch of junk. It's that specific model or nothing, honestly.

(The 2018 version of this set is called the "6 series" and will be even better.)

Just discovered those models arent sold in EU. Shame.
Hope they'll change things around with the new series, is there any chance?

Is there a similarly bang for your buck 65" television, or will TCL be extending this model of television beyond the 55" model with its 2018 release?

The 2018 line is being rebranded the "6 series" and will come in both 55" and 65" sizes. Look a bit classier too. Metallic bezel.

Awesome! Are there any rumors on what the pricing is going to be with respect to the 65"

I'll probably just upgrade my receiver for now, and patiently wait for these new televisions to drop.

All they said is the 55" 6 Series will be about the same price as the P607. No word yet on the 65" model.

Loving this TV - hating HDR. Only issue is I can't seem to get a decent HDR picture using it (mainly Shadow of the Colossus). I haven't tried watching an HDR movie just yet so I'm hoping it won't be as much of a pain as SoC has been.

I tried using Dark HDR but that doesn't help much in that particular game.

so i bought one of these and the signal keeps crapping out on my Pro/psvr setup. i have the newer psvr which i assumed worked around issues with the breakout box but there's something about the box this tv obviously doesn't like. did the standard troubleshoot stuff - it runs fine plugged directly into the ps4, went through various cables, and my last tv had no problems with the exact same setup

was wondering if there was anything i could do on the settings (tv or ps4) to make this work. my last tv was from 2010 or so i may be behind the curve on how things may not be quite "plug n play" anymore

Honestly it may be something with your box or probably a cable, or maybe the tv.but I have the exact same setup, P605,ps4pro and new psvr (skyrim bundle) and have no problem at all. Have not seen the image disappear on tv or even in the psvr (while i have that a lot with my lauch psvr and my setup in the basement with a AV decoder ,projector and ps4pro set up in 1080p).
Did you try just ps4pro connected to the screen with both hdmi cable (to testt the cable and remove the psvr from the equation) (are they the one you got with the psvr and ps4pro?)
