I totally agree on cheaping out on the story elements. Better cutscenes and voice acting would have given it more of the AA-AAA game feel but probably wasn't in the budget.

Like every enemy in the game (like, everyone of them), they can hear you and get alerted even if you crouch run up to them. It's just that most of them are slower to turn around than the Mortar. If you crouch walk, you can successfully get behind everything.
Honestly I didn't have any real problems with the Voice Acting from what I've played so far. And the cut scenes that are there are pretty good, I just wish there were more of them instead of just codec like scenes so often.

I always crouch walk to sneak up on things. It works for everything except Mortar's, they turn around without fail so far.

Huh, that's weird then. You're not the only one today to mention this. Maybe they changed it in the recent rebalancing? I would test it again but I restarted my game for that video series that I'm doing.

Oh man, I'm stupid. Took me a while to realize how to utilize the slingshot. Finally I have doggos in my base :)
I wonder how many stones I will have to fire at a bear tho.

Mortars kick you off if you've alerted them but definitely can be stealth killed. They can try and turn though but you can kill them mid turn.

Yeah I have managed to kill a few in the second or two mid-turn before they 'officially' notice you, but my issue is that every single one of them will absolutely turn around as you sneak up behind them. You have to catch them in that second or two it's basically time to run.

Here's all the songs I've unlocked so far.

Edit: Just found another box with 4 Winning Eleven songs. So it's 78 now.

Another edit: lol, found 2 more songs from Twinbee. 80 now.

So I've beaten the game and activated the base digger. When do the other classes unlock other than survivor? Big mouth just showed up on my map

I have no problem sneaking up on mortars, it's really just a matter of (1) making sure I'm not overloaded and (2) crouch-walking slowly enough? The real revelation for me is that you can defuse bombers that way...

Anyway, miracle of miracles I found a fourth color drop of the M1000 (campaign still not complete, LV34) but wow, the material cost is through the roof. Adding one perk costs 600,000+KP! Upgrades cost a huge amount of parts (including some I've never seen before). The material cost curve from 3-4 is really eye-opening.

Just played a round of co-op, Hard. First time beating it and getting an S.

Got a legendary sniper rifle! As well as shock rounds for the .45 caliber and .44 magnum, frost rounds for the 5.56mm and a medium heavy arrow quiver.

I also received a small grenade arrow quiver, even though there are no grenade arrows...yet. The thought of grenade arrows makes me very happy, though! Lol

Hard mode is tense but fun.

They're a hard mode purple reward recipe! They're very fun but the materials to make them are intense.

So I was curious as to how various resources were handled within co-op missions as I wasn't entirely clear on it and these were my findings:
  • Materials found on the mission field do not carry over into your permanent stash afterwards, they are all discarded. The only materials you acquire are the ones from the reward boxes at the end.
  • The same applies for the ammo boxes you find off detonators, the ammo is removed upon returning to the lobby.
  • Any gear repaired remains repaired once returning to the lobby.
When I get home I'll try and check whether crafting ammo and gadgets with materials found within a mission allows you to keep them. If so, I'll just make sure to use up all materials before a mission completion.
To add onto this, what I've found out today is
  • As with finding ammo boxes, any crafted ammo you make within a co-op mission gets discarded at the end.
  • Any crafted gadgets will stay and carry over into your inventory.
So with this, it seems effective to craft and repair as much as you can with resources found in co-op missions, but there's no need to be stingy with ammo.

Why am I so addicted to this game??

I just have to play at least one time a day and explore every teleporter, then do one hard coop salvage mission.

Konami might suck (with the major/minor devs of MG:Survive being the exceptions) but this game has its hooks in me....

So I want to make sure I did this game to completion

the game has the following endings

the wandering soldier (bad) ending, The ending of defeating lord of nanomachines (what i call it lol), and after credit call (is this even an ending)

I heard there was one more in this where

if you get 100% completion on both maps you actually do return home
can anyone confirm this?

I agree but I do different stuff, just kinda go out and explore what I'm missing and then return back and put it down. The nice smooth MGSV mechanics/movement combined with the survival aspect of wanting to get more stuff and blueprints to expand my arsenal combines really well.

I uninstalled the game after 10 hours. The straw that broke the camel's back was this: I found a target, had to extract him using a worm hole teleporter. Near by there's a horde of wanderers, so I put the dude down just outside of the area so he'd be safe during a skirmish. When there was like a minute left and I had defeated all the wanderers, I go pick up the guy. With my luck, I had placed him ~2m outside the mission area and because I had left it the wormhole blew up and now I couldn't extract him without carrying his ass hundreds of meters.

Right when I picked up the dude "Captain, wai--"
EXPLOSION
"You failed to protect the wormhole transporter. Come back later."

Fuck. This.

Huh, logically I would have have (and did) put the guy in a building right next to the teleporter, nothing could reach him. It's a strange idea to put him outside of the mission area.

I'm still early but the mist is hiding some weird shit I didn't expect. Makes one wonder what ideas the original KojiPro team had been kicking about because this surreal sci-fi broken world scenario seems to be playing out in two different games.

The base management part on the other hand is bringing up memories if Fallout 4 that I'd rather not have.

Uhhhh...How do you actually find a co op game? I went to the co op staging area but could find no kind of find game option, be it random or a search.

If I walk into the deployment gate it doesn't pop any options. Do you have to complete the story before it let's you do multiplayer or something?

Edit- Finally found it under the Accept Mission part. Not exactly intuitive.
Of course now the problem seems to be actually finding a game on Xbox in Europe :)

It was only the once (and I was low level) but Xbox+Europe was hampering the matchmaking somewhat when I tried :)

Add me, and join the Era Club (I've not seen many playing in the club though) if you want to try at least forming part of a team :D

Update live, added a Hard mission daily and weekly, some notes about a base digger issue, and freebies for Xbone players because of some pre-order issue. I didnt pre-order but I got the goodies, I think its just as long as you created the character before a specific date.

I think there's a list compiled on the reddit or at least a partial list of collectables, haven't had the chance to check recently though

Are the only Wormhole transporters the ones the game marks as side quests?
I'm at a point where I have to retrieve a memory board in Africa but it's way away from any transporters I've got.

I can't find people to play with... matchmaking for the daily/weekly isn't working for me.
Add me if you want to co op.

Yeah I spent about 15 minutes trying on Normal for Xbox this morning in Europe and couldn't get a single person. I'm wondering if it's just that it was a Tuesday morning so not many people about.

Yesterday evening the matchmaking for me (Europe) was better than the days since release. So yes, trying to play an online game that bombed really hard on a Tuesday morning will give you trouble, I assume.

This sounds incredible since hard was pretty easy before.
I haven't managed anything over a B since. I have no idea how people are going to kill Bigmouth in the time it takes between waves. You can't summon Walker Gear and instead they appear in the interval before the third wave, so that's the only time I can see people realistically defeating it. An S rank is impossible without killing it.

Wow. That's twice now that I've gotten an S rank on Hard standing missions where I was kicked off right as the third wave ends. I'm done with the game for today. This freaking sucks.

Ok someone tell me why the "Spiked Bar" weapon exists.
It's blue rarity. It takes blue rare materials. It has less damage than the very first rusty machete you can make. It has no perks when you craft it.

I played 2-3 games and there were at least 2 cheaters.
The first one is pretty obvious:

7HZWHs9.jpg

He had unlimited ammo and regained all health at the moment of death.

Then someone from my team during the next game must have bugged the game because i got a couple millions grenades.
I noticed that fps dropped pretty low right before the lootboxes dropped. It might have something to do with it.

Did you add me on XBL yet Lagamorph, I should be about during the day now and again depending on if the baby is sleeping, may get lucky and get a full team... I may get a couple of hours per night as well (CET).

That too I guess, Poor sales + Daytime + XBox(europe) is probably quite a small subset of a subset :D

Have added you now.

I did get an Easy mode game earlier. Normal seemed to have vanished from my options though even though it was there earlier?
