This game is amazing. In the span of an hour,
Kiryu was a mascot, met a time traveler, and was made team captain of a baseball team. I even met people for a throwback quest from Yakuza 0! Also meeting people from older games.
This game is fanservicey as hell. So glad I went in blind.

So why does Seagm keep rejecting my PayPal payment? Play-Asia sometimes does this, but usually if I switch from paypal balance to my debit card it works, nothing seems to work at Seagm.

What are the steps to buy digitally? I already have it preordered for the artbook CE at best buy and will just double dip.

Once you log into your PS4 with your new region account, set that console as your primary, and the game will be available to play on your regular account.

Fun fact... you most definitely don't have to re earn any trophies from the "demo" that was taken down. Synced mine right when I went to download the game and they were there on my list.

Meanwhile they release the full game for free in the US and the english version early in Asia lol

I'm this much close to canceling my LE preorder on Amazon.
First they discount the game on PSN two months before launch, then they release it for free, then this.
Who the hell was in charge of this lol

So you have to keep your singapore account logged into the ps4 as your primary account?

Good to hear, as I've earned more than half the trophies in the game via the early "demo". Glad to be able to transfer it all to my physical copy when I buy it next month.

No. You log into your alt account on your PS4, set it as that account's primary console, start your download, and you can switch back to your regular account and go on your way, don't even have to finish the download with the alt account logged in.

I played the US version up until Chapter 11 actually.

If that save works in this Singapore version then I'll get it now, otherwise it'd be a waste for me.

Strange, I played it on a 1080p screen with PS4 Pro. However, I can see a lot of jagged edges in Kamorocho. Looks like the anti-aliasing of the game is not working properly.

So everyone who bought Yakuza 6 here in the Philippines and used paypal, have their order on-hold. Yeah of course Paypal, if we're buying something related to the real Yakuza we're gonna put Yakuza on the item name, smh. I should've been playing it today, I already took a day off T.T

Game is great, disappointed in the image quality tho. It holds back a really pretty game. Still looks good tho. I'm really early but it does have a distinct "last ride" vibe thatst hard to explain, makes world that much more realized.

You guys are the best ever! Bought the Singapore version off of PSN and I'm keeping my collectors edition for the art book and whisky glasses (and to show my support). I have a three day weekemd coming up next week and it will be spent playing this. Thank you all for the heads up! I greatly appreciate it.

Nah, I'm sure I messed up a few quests in Y5 and still got the "complete" check. IIRC you are remembering PS2 games where you had to do the quests "right" but from Y3 and onward RGG studio made it so you would get the "complete" status no matter how you finished the sub-story.

Only complaint after a few hrs is the menu layout and option is a step back for me compared to kiwami. The hud map is to big wish they had option to shrink it. Gameplay fine but seem alot slower. Can someone explain the upgrade system i dont see the skill points like kiwami i dont know how much point i have left to upgrade my stats.

I played it for about 2-3 hours last night, and the gist is that there's like... 5 categories of skill points. You upgrade them through different tasks (you can get strength skill points through fighting, to give you an example). When you go to the upgrade menu, you can see how many points from each pool will unlocking a certain skill cost, so it's not exactly the old XP system, but it's similar.

You have XP in different categories, Strength, Spirit, Knowledge, Charisma, I think one other (they are also colour coded).
Levelling different abilities will require certain amounts of specific types of XP.

Eating, fighting, doing minigames, completing substories all reward xp. Certain activities or types of food provide more of one specific kind of XP. For example, I think Karaoke gave more green (Charisma).

Also, I posted a pre-OT discussion/impressions thread back when the demo/full game leaked. Pretty sure everyone has kept plot spoilers behind spoiler text. In case anyone is interested.

3 or 4 you could definitely mess up and you would get "Finished" or something instead of "Complete" rewards were different, too.

Game just has a poor AA solution and that's about it. On PS4 base version it is worse because the game is also 900P compared to Pro's 1080P.

Downloading the game now. Screw Sega of America and their constant incompetence. I still don't understand why the release date wasn't the very beginning of March where there was absolutely 0 competition, the demo leak showed it was ready to go. Even March 20 is better than being near GoW, as the big releases are Sea of Thieves (not on PSN), Far Cry 5, and NNK2 (I don't think this will sell all that well or have much impact).

Thanks alot for all your info one more question? How can i unlock the side missions to be shown on the map i remembered in kiwami you have to buy a specific item to unlock it all.

any idea what's the standing charge attack (for a heat action) ?

i tried charging my attack withou doing anything else with triangle, in extreme heat, and it works, but i never got any heat action after doing it...

There is no substory map marker item or anything in this game. You have to naturally find them while exploring the game world.

I'll give a piece of advice though.
Progressing in the larger side content activities (the stuff that you probably haven't run into yet, but would be most comparable to Real Estate or Pocket Circuit from Yakuza 0/Kiwami), will unlock a lot of substories that wont show up in the game world otherwise.
Baseball, Sea Fishing, Snackbar and Clan Wars
