Even putting that aside, he's too old to compose for a 100 hour game. DQXI heavily reuses old music.

I knew there was zero chance of SE bringing over the 3DS version themselves, but I figured Nintendo would foot the bill again, especially since they seem intent on supporting the 3DS to the bitter end. Too bad.
The biggest hook for me was having the same game in three distinct styles. Just having the PS4 version on it's own doesn't excite me as much.

Hmm this is pretty close to Yakuza Kiwami 2. At least I have September off work so that's great. I was kinda ok with Spider-Man releasing early September, but now I hope they manage to release it by early August the latest.

I suppose the issue at hand is that selling better than DQH 1 or 2 isn't grounds for champagne in of itself, considering how low a hurdle that turned out to be. The fact is that even if Builders did sell better than remakes of mainline games, the floor is so low that it barely registers.

Steam version will be mine on launch and when the physical PS4 version becomes cheap I'll grab it too.
People assumed it did well based on the global shipment figure. We don't have much data but it didn't do well in the UK and didn't chart well in the US or other European markets.
Maybe ZhugeEX or someone with access to numbers can chime in and give us more insight though.

Damn, I was hoping the Switch version would be closer to release but it sounds like it will be a while. Not near my PS4 enough nowadays to play a long RPG. I can wait on it though. This year is already packed.
If I'm a project manager on this localization and I have the budget to work with here, I think that prioritizing voice acting was the better play in terms of appealing to western review outlets as 1) music barely figures into their assessments to begin with, 2) you're dealing with the reality that even if you present the best case ever, the composer has total veto power that has used it in the past to further his own ends and 3) lack of VA is something that's had an appreciable impact in reviews, as we've just seen with Ni no Kuni 2 and its frequent complaints about how sparse the VA wound up being. In a perfect world, it'd be both and no compromises, but that's not going to happen here.

Well the reason i say you have to get the orchestra music is because i believe Legally you cant just take the orchestra music you otherwise wouldnt own and put it in the pc version.
Then again i dont know the legality of music swapping hacks like DQ7/8 on the 3ds. (because tbh its sounds like out right pirating if you dont own the soundtrack to put in music you dont own... and this site has the right stance against pirates)
Because Square enix doesnt own the music, this asshole does. And SE cant remove him because there will be complaints in japan on how they removed a staple of the series (he just really needs to die so we can get over this hurdle and yes his death would actually be a good thing considering his SHITTY AS FUCK attitude on WWII on what japan did to some other countries.)

I tend to qualify the worst ones as the group that overwhelmingly goes into threads about "the other side" specifically to create problems and stir shit up.
Now that goes back and forth for sure, but it certainly has gotten a bit one sides since the new kid on the block turned out to be a bit too popular for the linkings of certain people.

I'm just saying that from the videos I find the world static and lifeless, everything is ultra clean and flat, and not very detailed. Lighting doesn't help at all to give form to the world and models are expressionless (even Xenoblade 2 looks a generation ahead in this department).
