When they turn into the X-Men, the concept basically died.
I have hope that series, ironically, will revitalize them; that will bump them down to this weird secret eugenistic alien society again.

I actually think they didn't go far enough when they attempted to turn them into X-Men. The concept of Black Bolt spreading the Terrigen Mists around the world and turning random people into inhumans was clearly inspired by the Earth-X limited mini-series, but Earth-X went much father with it, by making the gas turn any human into a Inhuman. There was no inheritance or lost lineage, just a terrible event that changed everything, and really, that's the route they should have taken when they wanted the Inhumans as the New X-Men. Random people suddenly gaining mutations they never asked for, with no hidden ancestral lineage or ties to the old Inhumans aside from their origins in the mists. Unlike Earth-X, obviously they'd be a minority which then could be persecuted and basically become the same thing as the mutants.

Rather than that, they had people welcoming the Terrigen mists and their Inhuman lineage, which basically made them unable to really take the X-Men's role.

Just put them in Infinity Wars. Ugh fuck off XMen fans.

The last 3 years of Inhumans was better than X Men.

Yeah yeah, it's likely bait after DOX but come on.

I mean... I've disliked them over their promotion over the X-Men but... yeesh. Basically kicking a man while they're down.

Honestly don't expect this to be a real end of anything. A lot of the new inhumans were met with meh receptions but the royal family itself is still pretty well loved in the way that they've always been; A set of guest characters who act as a measuring stick for a newly introduced villain's power (YO, THAT DUDE HEARD BLACK BOLT AND LIVED!), On-again / off-again relationships (Crystal's whole history), Deus ex machinas (Lockjaw), And a select few new inhumans really resonated like Kamala and Lunella (and a couple good c-listers like Reader will probably show up again).

I expect this to maybe just be them wiping out the like 3 different inhuman communities that have popped up after Attilan fell that no one can remember, if that. Even if some stop getting dedicated books, most of them only enrich the universe by being in it. I do expect the Maximoff twins to go back to their regular origins though. That was some real pro wrestling 'ladder match for custody of your child' type shit.

The old 80's X-Men crossover?
I'm getting close to reading it myself(doing an X-Men reading marathon and up to 1984 currently), but I -LOVED- the Magik origin with all the Limbo stuff, so an entire event dedicated to bringing that back intrigues me greatly.

....unless you are referring to something else?

I mean this guy:

He was the protag of at least the first arc of Inhuman, and while I liked what I read of the book, I never cared much for him.

Yes I'm aware of the odds. But here's my prediction:

Wanda, Pietro and Kamala will all be revealed mutants.
I don't know anyuthing about Kamala, but as soon as the Fox deal was being talked about I though they'd reveal Wanda and Pietro as mutants, with the stress of the Hydra "improvements" activating their mutant genes. Or maybe they'll just leave it as is.

What even are Inhumans? I've only read Ms. Marvel and know that Black Bolt's name is Blackagar Boltagon which seems very dumb.

Okay, so I've never sit through this show for obvious reasons (like how Black Bolt here looks like an Inhumans teenage fanboy about to start his own boyband), but...this scene kind of seems freakin' awesome from what I'm gathering in this thread.

His family admit to murdering and manipulation of some kind and Bolt's "THE FUCK MAN?" literally send them flying.

Look up the scene on YouTube, it's literally just Black Bolt saying "Why" in the most underwhelming way possible.

Do you want to know the whole context to the scene?

Alternatively titled "We got the X-Men film rights back"

That's the first thing I thought of too.

They pushed the Inhumans as a replacement for the X-Men but, between the television show being cancelled before it even aired and Marvel getting the rights back for the X-Men, now they've clearly changed their minds.

I read on some board, that it's hinted that quicksilver and scarelet witch are mutants again and the children of magneto. It was a big deception... is this true

Comics are so fucking stupid.

How people can tolerate a medium that constantly goes back on its major twists and revelations is beyond me.

Oh is it? I stopped watching after the first episode.
Yes please, might explain why it's hated. Knowing nothing is really confessed though kind of shifts my view to "oh I guess I get it now".
So spoilers for Inhumans.
Black Bolt is looking at an order from the Genetic Council where they are advising his parents on how to handle him. The council recommends brain surgery to fix him. The letter has the Royal seal of approval on it so Black Bolt thinks his parents ok'd it. In reality it was Maxius trying to get Black Bolt to leave so he could get the throne.

Okay so about me praising the scene...

Marvel has absolutely no creative direction at all it's both laughable and sad. Beholden to whims and popular demand to change course every six months, no consistency, just a hot mess of fuck everywhere.

You know I was just wondering, Marvel internally must have known about the fox deals way before it was publicly announced, maybe this is why they de-hyped the Inhumans show did everything they could to release it silently and let it bomb.

Let the X-Men reign over the Inhumans (I don't hate the characters, just the push they received over the mutants because of the Fox ban)
