I sent an email to them this morning asking about them. No response yet.
That plus the souvenirs is very concerning, feels like something EA or 2k would do, DD is so much better because you could do almost anything without having to pay more money
Exactly this. I was shocked at how good the servers ran at launch. I don't think I had a single issue the first 2 or 3 days of launch last week. The past few days have been pretty bad though. Last night I finished a 9 inning vs CPU game to get a bunch of program challenges out of the way. I had like 3 or 4 I completed in the game and of course there is a server error right after the game is over and none of my missions get uploaded to the server. It's frustrating as hell.
Buying the autograph bats was pretty painful but very happy with Willie Stargell. I think the best thing to flip on the market are the bats since some players have 1,000 or more between buy and sell now.
Likewise, I started FIFA Ultimate Team and NBA MyTeam, and really don't understand/care for these modes at all. Give me franchise mode with GM contract/trading goals any day instead.
went to check so i could add it to my gold headset but the app will not load for me. it goes to updating app stays there a while then goes blank with a big empty square highlighted. tried redownloading the headset app but still does it.
The hardest part and what turns me off in other sports games is having to use contracts just to retain players and use.
In MLB the Show once you get a player they are yours. There are a few multiplayer options (Battle Royale & Ranked Seasons) but I find the Conquest mode which is single player the best for me and once you start its easy to understand. Plus the games are set for 3 innings (That runs about 10 minutes if you don't need to go to extra innings) so you can get in and out quickly while also playing any team around the league.
Bought '17 and I really like it so far. '19 has a good chance on landing on my short list to buy next year.

(Also... going for Franchise mode with the intention on playing every game and then realizing what the shedule for a normal MLB season entails = l-m-a-o, oh god :D )

Hey guys just wanted to pop in and ask a quick question. I see that retro mode is back for this version. Is there any big differences between the retro mode here vs the previous iteration (the show17)? Thanks.
I think functionally it's the same, but you can now turn it on in franchise instead of having it be sequestered out in it's own mode (although that's still an option as well),
Every time I hit a no doubter I get that new stupid HR animation, that zooms in on your player. I want the one you got with seager.
I needed 1 win to get to the 600's and am now an a 6 game losing streak.......just about every hit is a home run, what the hell did they change
Is the camera in RTTS intentionally supposed to be bad or what? I'm on first and the AI hits a liner into center and as I'm heading into third the announcer says the outfielder bobbles the ball and my third base coach is waving me home so I go for it and the throw easily beats me and I'm called out. This entire time I could not see what was happening in the outfield and the camera was always facing my back. Like what the hell... can this be changed in the options or something? Makes me not want to play this mode now.
Pitching low is the new meta. Last year, it was fastballs high. Pitching up in the zone and any decent player will take you deep.
If you press and hold L2 you see the play via a standard 3rd person camera. Try that.
According to their website, the OSFM (Operation Sports Full Minors) roster pack should be up now in the vaults. Look for the username RidinDwnKingsley.

I feel like at least in RTTS the presentation is kinda... cheap? Like the game looks decent enough but the graphics and cutscenes between games in the clubhouse and whatnot is really bad. I wasn't expecting something like out of 2K but it just feels like it was thrown together quickly. This mode could be so amazing if any effort was put into the presentation.
Have you played RTTS in previous years? It does definitely feel "cheap", though it has been (very) slowly improving every year, and I feel like this is the biggest leap forward. I like the new stat upgrade system. Combined with the improved load times and general gameplay improvements this is the best RTTS yet, and I hope they continue this trend. It still feels like an afterthought though. I wish they'd focus on it more; RTTS is all I play.
Is this game on sale already? Saw somebody say $48? Really feeling the baseball mood right now and I just got paid...
This is the first time I am playing it. I'm hoping they evolve it to make it better but I feel this game's focus is diamond dynasty with the card packs.
This is year two of their three year RTTS revamp. Last year was the first time they included any cutscenes off the field of play at all. This year, they added more variety to cutscenes and totally revamped the progression, added archetypes, etc. Obviously no idea what's on tap for next year, but there should be some more additions and refinements to RTTS.
I understand that it's realistic this way but having a CPU ump call a pitch that's clearly in the zone a ball is kind of annoying, I feel like it happens a bit too much.
yeah, i'm completely on board with them fully removing the human element bullshit.
Isn't there an option to turn off wrong calls?
Also what are the settings everyone is using? I tried to mimic the old school MVP Baseball series with directional hitting but I just played a 10 inning online game and had ZERO hits with the Yankees so either I suck hardcore or directional hitting stinks. I think I am going to go back to zone hitting with the wedge PCI. For pitching I heard analog is best but I'm currently using metered pitching. Baserunning and fielding is mostly just defaults, didn't really change too much with that. For difficulty I'm just using dynamic because it seems like a good idea on paper to level it as you go but not sure if that's a bad or good thing to do in practice.
For the camera angles I have both hitting and pitching on catcher's high since that's a pretty much default view angle baseball games have always had. I'm not sure if I should change offense and defense camera angle from dynamic to medium or high. I'm just going to play a game with each and see which one I like best.
edit: all my sliders are default which looks like everything is just set to 50%. Should I be looking to change these or load a premade slider setting?

Event wins weren't counting last week yet they kept it up
Animations are still easy to exploit in rundowns
Fielders running right over the ball
I don't remember being this frustrated at any point in 16 or 17

I tried to get into diamond dynasty but that stuff was too overwhelming and I bailed.
it's not complicated, just kind of tedious and poorly organized. it's the type of thing that seems overwhelming at first, but then a month later you're wishing there was even more of it.
Also best way to take care of those pesky saves missions.
At least it's easy to hit home runs off Betances.....
