If they don't bring back My Career missions I'm going to be very upset with Sony, and a lot of other people will be as well
I sent an email to them this morning asking about them. No response yet.If they don't bring back My Career missions I'm going to be very upset with Sony, and a lot of other people will be as well
As much as I like The Show, I really wish they could figure out a way to keep the servers up reliably. For the first couple of days last week it was great, I could go into any mode and do whatever I wanted quickly. Since Monday though, I've had a maybe %25 success rate at connecting to the servers as well as losing connection after a DD Conquest game. When I only have a few opportunities to play throughout the day, I like to be able to just jump in and play a quick game or two, but more often than not I've simply turned it off when it couldn't connect.
That plus the souvenirs is very concerning, feels like something EA or 2k would do, DD is so much better because you could do almost anything without having to pay more money
Turned on Diamond Dynasty to see what the fuss was about.
Have no idea what I was doing.
Got the hell out of there.
went to check so i could add it to my gold headset but the app will not load for me. it goes to updating app stays there a while then goes blank with a big empty square highlighted. tried redownloading the headset app but still does it.Just FYI, if you have the new Gold headsets they updated the app to include an MLB Show 18 profile.
Likewise, I started FIFA Ultimate Team and NBA MyTeam, and really don't understand/care for these modes at all. Give me franchise mode with GM contract/trading goals any day instead.
If you like Baseball and if you want to play the best sports game on console right now, get it right now. $48 is a great price.
Hey guys just wanted to pop in and ask a quick question. I see that retro mode is back for this version. Is there any big differences between the retro mode here vs the previous iteration (the show17)? Thanks.
A few vids I made while playing. Great looking game 4k HDR is beautiful and smooth 60fps not like last years choppy mess. The commentary in Franchise is the best I have ever heard.

Cool thing I caught out of the corner of my eye. I watched the D'backs, manager signal something and I thought it was window dressing. But, it was the real deal talk about immersion.

Is the camera in RTTS intentionally supposed to be bad or what? I'm on first and the AI hits a liner into center and as I'm heading into third the announcer says the outfielder bobbles the ball and my third base coach is waving me home so I go for it and the throw easily beats me and I'm called out. This entire time I could not see what was happening in the outfield and the camera was always facing my back. Like what the hell... can this be changed in the options or something? Makes me not want to play this mode now.
I needed 1 win to get to the 600's and am now an a 6 game losing streak.......just about every hit is a home run, what the hell did they change

Pitching low is the new meta. Last year, it was fastballs high. Pitching up in the zone and any decent player will take you deep.
If you press and hold L2 you see the play via a standard 3rd person camera. Try that.
I feel like at least in RTTS the presentation is kinda... cheap? Like the game looks decent enough but the graphics and cutscenes between games in the clubhouse and whatnot is really bad. I wasn't expecting something like out of 2K but it just feels like it was thrown together quickly. This mode could be so amazing if any effort was put into the presentation.
Have you played RTTS in previous years? It does definitely feel "cheap", though it has been (very) slowly improving every year, and I feel like this is the biggest leap forward. I like the new stat upgrade system. Combined with the improved load times and general gameplay improvements this is the best RTTS yet, and I hope they continue this trend. It still feels like an afterthought though. I wish they'd focus on it more; RTTS is all I play.
This is the first time I am playing it. I'm hoping they evolve it to make it better but I feel this game's focus is diamond dynasty with the card packs.
I understand that it's realistic this way but having a CPU ump call a pitch that's clearly in the zone a ball is kind of annoying, I feel like it happens a bit too much.

You can turn it off.yeah, i'm completely on board with them fully removing the human element bullshit.
Yeah, the programs and diamond dynasty just seem way too overly complicated, especially for someone new to the series.

I tried to get into diamond dynasty but that stuff was too overwhelming and I bailed.
it's not complicated, just kind of tedious and poorly organized. it's the type of thing that seems overwhelming at first, but then a month later you're wishing there was even more of it.
