Lmao, Cynthia Nixon just appeared on stage at the Eric B. & Rakim show right now. She's making a political stump speech at an Eric B. And Rakim show.
Rapture is kind of weird because every episode is structured really different, but overall net positive impression.
So far:
Logic seems like he had a rough life, which he's already alluded to in his music but it's neat to see that stuff verified a bit, but dude is kind of weird like Lil Boat said. Especially weird because he left his girl right after he signed his latest deal.
Second episode didn't know whether it wanted to be about Nas or Dave East and they didn't really go beyond surface level comparisons between the two.
T.I. episode is pretty cool given all the different people he gets to talk to, it's not really about his music but I'm cool with the more political stuff.

Pumped for Kamasi. I had the opportunity to see him live a couple years ago and he is not only mad talented as a musician but also his kindness and gratefulness was remarkable. One of the best shows I had the opportunity to experience.

That's about sums up my thoughts on the show so far as well. I do like how each episode is it's own thing and that there really isn't a structure that's followed between each episode. I've also only made it to the T.I. episode so I'm excited to check out the rest of the episodes.

DAMN has sold 1.02 million copies. Making it the third Kendrick album in a row to sell over a million (digitally or physically). Really impressive in this streaming age.

Allegedly Nicki moved her single release dates to not overshadow Cardi. But that can be easily interpreted as Nicki moving out of the way of an incoming mack truck.

The 27th has Janelle Monae vs. Post Malone vs. Rae Sremmurd. Someone's going to blink because there's no way all 3 of these albums can maximize their sales with their overlapping demographics.
All 3 have huge pop appeal: Post's is obvious, RS are going to have singles chasing the "Unforgettable" and "Black Beatles" money, and Janelle has more commercial appeal since her appearances in "Hidden Figures" and "Moonlight."
I'd bet RS blink and change their date since Post is their most direct competitor and he's been riding the popularity of "Rockstar."

Just watched lil Jon's "Alive" music video and boy was that a trip. Reminded me of that south park episode where Kenny goes on a cat piss hallucinogenic trip and all he saw were boobs.
I just got done listening to it. I think I might like it more than his most recent album. I think I'll be coming back to both of these often.

Besides, there are conflicting stories as to how that song got made. Nicki claims it was originally a collaboration with Quavo that became a Migos song and Joe Budden said the song was originally a Migos and Cardi B collaboration that the label put Nicki on.
Final truth is somewhere in the middle, but the point is that both features were not originally planned for the song.
Watching this G-Eazy episode of Rapture, and it only confirms my beliefs that one out of every two G-Eazy songs features Kehlani.
