She's still a producer on the show even if she only wrote two specific episodes herself.

That being said, if she manages to pull off the book well, I'll be glad. I just don't have any excitement for that kind of a combination. Nothing AMC's done in like three seasons has landed for me.

On a season that everyone thought was surprisingly good. I'm not sure what the issue is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wish N0S4A2 was picked up by HBO, not AMC, but they've done well with some shows. The book was good, and I'd like to see it done justice. I'm looking forward to it regardless, though.

Saying that something was the best 'Walking Dead' season in years isn't saying a lot, though. But Fear did improve a lot during its third season and went from being tough to watch to being decent. The main show has really dropped off a cliff.

That's not what I was getting at :P

I mentioned HBO because they tend to give their shows really high budgets and most are of quality. It's more of a premier station than AMC, but AMC is better than average so I'm not really too worried.

My friend gave me True Blood through torrents. I may still have it on an old hard drive, but I never did watch it. I had thought I should because it was supposed to be pretty good. Then again, vampires don't really do it for me outside of Lost Boys.

Legends is great because no fucks are given.

Speaking of, I find it funny how New Girl did a classic TV spoiler thing for their new season, but somehow also subverted it by not actually doing anything with it.

It really really wasn't. Watch The Vampire Diaries if you want good vampire show from Warner Bros.

Watching this with absolutely no background or context is the craziest shit ever. I can't tell if I'm dreaming still or not.
That's pretty much how it feels watching it even when you've watched every episode. It's not a good show, but it's gotten significantly more entertaining this season while the rest of the Arrowverse shows crumbled.

Gotham is still the best though, it's just damn fun.

I'm glad to see Roseanne still doing well. Last night's episode was absolutely hilarious. If it maintains its current quality it will easily be my favorite reboot of all time. I can't believe how much it feels like the old show.

edit: Holy fuck, Flash got a 0.6. I guess it's a CW show after all.

HBO isn't Warner Bros. (yes, it's the same parent company, but separate divisions), and regardless, who the heck factors corporate parent companies into their TV preferences?

I simply picked the one other vampire show that falls under Warner Bros Domestic Television. Don't overthink people bashing true blood, the makers didn't think either about the plot.

Splitting Up Together was better last night, but it's not anything good. It's just one of those shows that exists and is merely half-decent. Some of the writing for the female lead is awfully weird.

^^^Yawn.

Funny is funny, and the show was hilarious last night. I'm not a Nielsen family anyway so I can watch guilt free.

And that's still too high. There are 6 episodes left in the season and it's so bad that I want to stop watching. I won't but I want to.
I actually enjoyed last night's episode.

I don't like myself for watching Roseanne, but I started doing so on premiere night and am enjoying it. I still need to watch last night's episode. I ended up going with 30 minutes of sleep instead of watching it early this morning.

I'm able to separate people's beliefs from their shows for the most part. You kind of have to.

The first commercial spots for LA To Vegas totally had me sold on it. Then I watched the pilot and was like ehhhh...but I decided to stay with it and it got better and now I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It would be nice if it continued.
Same here. The first couple episodes were not awful, not great but ok. Each episode seemed to get better than the last. About episode 5 though la to Vegas really starts getting really good. I'm hoping for another season.

I thought last night's was the best so far, and it felt just like the original run. Actually though, it got a little sad with the subject matter, and I expect next week's to be similar.

This week's episode of Flash is directed by Kevin Smith, right? I agree this season has been weak, I am only still watching it because the new episodes are put on Netflix weekly here.

You can like yourself for watching it. As far as I can tell, she's not writing it, and there's a ton of very respectable people involved with the show. In your head you can pretend the show is called It's All Good Man.

USA orders four pilots including a Bourne spinoff and an adaptation from Andy Greenwald

McCumber is also looking forward to the fourth season of Mr. Robot, though the timetable is still up in the air, especially with Esmail working on the Briarpatch pilot.

"Sam's developing and putting together that season," McCumber said. "He likes to concentrate on each project at a time. We can't wait to get more episodes of Mr. Robot, but right now, we don't have a fully-baked timetable."

Dammit :(

USA orders four pilots including a Bourne spinoff and an adaptation from Andy Greenwald
http://www.adweek.com/tv-video/usa-...ont-including-one-related-to-the-bourne-world
Written by Tim Kring, Treadstone explores the origin story and present-day actions of a CIA black ops program known as Treadstone — a covert operation that uses behavior modification protocol to turn its agents into nearly unstoppable superhuman assassins. The series follows sleeper agents across the globe as they're mysteriously "awakened" to resume their deadly missions.

Kring executive produces with Ramin Bahrani, who will direct the pilot.
I love Bourne. I don't love Tim Kring.
Created by Denis Leary and Alex Cary, Erase is the story of Donal O'Neal (Leary), a dirty ex-cop who decides to do the right thing and bring down his complicit superior officers. But his best weapon in this battle – a photographic memory – is suddenly compromised by symptoms of early-onset Alzheimer's. In this gritty crime thriller, laced with elements of black comedy, Donal races against time to repair the damage he's done to his estranged family while trying to avoid being killed by his enemies. Leary and Cary executive produce with Apostle Pictures' Jim Serpico.
Doesn't sound awful
Briarpatch, written by Andy Greenwald based on the Ross Thomas novel, is a co-production between UCP and Paramount Television that "celebrates the beloved genre that Thomas' book represents — a unique blend of crime, thriller, mystery, and pulp fiction – while updating his electrifying sense of fun, danger and place for a new generation." It follows Allegra Dill, a dogged investigator returning to her border-town Texas home after her sister is murdered by a car bomb. What begins as a search for a killer turns into an all-consuming fight to bring the corrupt hometown Allegra thought she left behind to its knees.
Greenwald will executive produce with Esmail through his Esmail Corp production banner, and Anonymous Content's Chad Hamilton. Yann Demange will direct and serve as executive producer.
Demange is a great director, Sam Esmail being involved helps too. Andr Greenwald is the big unknown to me, but people seem to dig Legion so.
Megan Abbott serves as writer and executive producer of Dare Me, based on her acclaimed novel. It's described as an unflinching exploration of volatile female friendships, jealousy, loyalty and the dynamics of power in a small Midwestern town. Peering behind the all-American façade, the series dives into the cutthroat world of competitive high school cheerleading, following the fraught relationship between two best friends after a new coach arrives to bring their team to prominence. Part coming-of-age story, part small-town drama, part murder mystery, Dare Me, from UCP and Film 44, exposes the physical and psychological extremes that some young women are willing to endure in order to get ahead.
I was almost on board, but then you had to throw in a murder mystery. Sigh.

Tim Kring and Bourne? No thank you.

Greengrass couldn't revive that IP and he's actually good. Just let it die with a perfect trilogy and the bad two films that followed.

Good news re: Barry. Silicon Valley still rolls out a few good jokes, but it's getting a little long in the tooth.

He's a bright guy based on his podcast work, but I don't know how much of that translates into running a television show. It's tough to say what his influence was on Legion since he was a co-producer that (I think?) sat in the writing room at times.

No, I'll stick to the show itself.

Roseanne is a special case. She has literally harassed survivors of school shootings. She has a long history of disgusting anti-Muslim comments. She pushes conspiracy theories that accuse people of murder and pedophilia. This isn't a case of, "She supports Trump!" No, she's an indefensible person even without that.

I was not originally talking to you at all, as I didn't see that you had commented on the show. It was a general statement regarding the show's ratings. You replied to that with "yawn," implying that it's somehow boring to care about such a thing.

You don't have to care about the topic. But if you see someone saying they're disappointed that a TV show starring a vile racist has good ratings and you're more bothered by that than the actual issue at hand, perhaps take a step back and think about your priorities a bit.

It's not "Kitchen Nightmare" in name, but close enough for me! (New Hotel Hell season can get announced any time now...)

Edit: Wow, apparently old newsn but they are starting to promote it now. I just missed the announcement for it :x

Great news, I've been missing Kitchen Nightmares (though Hotel Impossible and the Profit have been good substitutes). Also hoping Hotel Hell comes back.
